Switzerland's FINEST Historic Locomotives & Railcars - Depotfest Olten 2023 - Crocodile & More !

For six years, the largest railroad festival in Switzerland - Depotfest Olten 2023 - has been in preparation and it was worthwhile the wait. Under the Motto "Electric Traction" the Depotfest Olten 2023 presented an astonishing collection of decades of Swiss railroad history, the finest historic electric locomotives and railcars Switzerland can offer on the standart gauge. Particularly impressive due to their size, shape or specs e.g. were the iconic crocodile locomotives but also Ae 8/14 11801, a double locomotive with 240 tons in weight and built in 1931 to master the steep and demanding Gotthard railway stretch. Three of these locomotives were built, all of them with somewhat different specs. Ae 8/14 11852, the sister locomotive was considered with an hourly output of 8,170 kW for a long time the "most powerful locomotive in the world" and is still the most powerful locomotive in Switzerland today.
