Wave Text Effect in Adobe Illustrator | Make with Mesh & Transform | Graphic design

- In this episode, we will look at " How to create wave text effect in Adobe Illustrator " using very simple techniques & Options. YOu can use this technique and apply it to any font, whether it is alphabets, number or nay vector design We gonna create TWO designs. For the 1st design, we will create two versions. for version one we have used pathfinder option and the mesh option. for the second version, we have used divide option under pathfinder and mesh option And for the last design, we have used 3D rotate option and mesh by tweaking the mesh vectors we have added a nice wavy effect. FOR ANYONE STRUGGLING TO MAKE THE WAVY LINES - make sure your line has NO fill and just stroke. I thought the tutorial was wrong but I went back and was extra careful with all the steps. looks like this is a super common problem people run into!
So do i, i repeat 3 times, 'cause currious what's wrong with the steps....

pretty good tutorial, thanks! One suggestion that would make me watch more tutorials in the future is, for example in the 2:37-2:50 area, rather than say "increase it this much" or "here you can adjust thickness", tell us specifically where you're entering the value. Also some mouse click highlighting in the screen capture would help. Otherwise if someone's trying to follow along in their own document, they have to stop what they're doing, rewind the video, and find where you're clicking.

That was great, I tried all examples except the last one, now Illustrator has the new 3D and Material tools, some will try with the old 3D and the new one, I have a feeling the old one will produce better results. Thanks. 👌🙏

You didn’t have to expand the repeating line segments effect in order to change the stroke size. If you want to keep the live effect, all you have to do is change it under the appearances panel.
It looked easy, but definitely need experience and lots of exercise. Thanks a lot for the tuts my friend!

3rd one won't work for some reason. After apply 3d effects and expand object, just cannot select the Expand option.

anyone else having trouble selecting all the lines when it comes to making it with mesh? Only the top line gets selected on mine...

try selecting the line and choosing Object -> Expand Appearance after the initial Transform step

But for the second design (first one from the left), after I release the clipping mask, expand the font then I select the font and mesh and click on the "Divide", nothing changes, it just stays the way it is...😭😭😭 please help @creatnprocess
That happened to me too, but I just redid the first steps of the first design and stopped before he turned the lines into vectors so I could continue doing the second design. With the: release clipping mask + expand the font + select both and click "divide"

For some reason, fragments of lines are not evenly distorted for me when the shift button and the up arrow are pressed, although interesting fragments are obtained in the future) Why is this happening? I solved the problem, in the settings of the Envelope Options you need to uncheck the distortion of design elements, maybe someone will need some advice)

The divide button isn’t doing anything my version is different but i don’t think that makes a difference

Hi ! Make sure you're using the direct selection tool rather than the selection tool when you go to create waves!
Also, you need to hold down shift when you select!
