@@TheAdventuresofMightyThor not at all lol. Second place behind shang chi for sure, but go back rn and compare any two fight scenes from either movie. TWS made a lot of improvements over typical action sequences in previous Marvel and Hollywood movies, such as improved choreography and movement, and a more talented/experienced stunt team, but it also suffers from some of the biggest mistakes that dragged previous films down. Shots cutting before the impact of a hit, and then stitching into a shot after the hit has landed is one of the big ones. It causes strikes to lose a ton of force on camera because the actual impact is never shown or felt. If a shot didn't cut the impact out in TWS, then it suffered from shakey cam to hide the softer impacts of the choreography, resulting in very light hits. Shang chi, on the other hand, for many of the fight scenes at least, kept long shots for not just one, but multiple hit impacts AND kept a much more stabilized shot from the camera. The stunt team on this was so incredibly talented. The hits felt impactful and were usually strung together in comparatively long sequences between cuts, all while keeping the camera stabilized in motion. not only did i already appreciate shang chi so much that i went out and watched the movie twice in theater, but now i even appreciate the behind the scene aspect of it and i just can't stop appreciating.. i really love this 🔥
This is what made this film so amazing; the shots that felt so traditional in martial arts films were done so high quality that you forget how complex they are. The attention to detail kept our focus on the plot and action and we were never taken out of the moment
I love this one, as I'm sure most of us do actually having someone from the set of the movie that did the work explaining things vs just us speculating "I think this is how they did this"
Andy Cheng was the fight coordinator for Shang Chi. Andy Le is a youtuber that played death dealer. Andy Cheng has been in Jackie Chan movies for years and Jackie even saved his life from drowning. just wanted to correct that and give proper credit. A homage to Brad allen on this show would be epic he was one of the best.
Actually, I read that Andy Le and his team was also originally hired to teach the actors the fight choreography and Death Dealer had not been a character at that point. When they introduced Death Dealer, that's when they asked Andy Le to do play the part.
Andy Lee from martial club has achieved his dream, if it's true that he made all the stunt scenes in this film, that's amazing, been watching martial club for about 5 years give or take, I know it's weird to put it in the comment section, but it's amazing seeing how far he's come from where I first started watching him
Andy Cheng was the fight coordinator and Brad Allen was the stunt coordinator/2nd unit director. Andy Le played Death dealer. Still a great achievement for a hard working youtuber.
I love that you asked about getting into this kind of job because _this_ - specifically marvel movie cgi - is everything I want to do in life when I get older. I love watching these videos because it's so cool to take a deep dive into movie cgi/vfx and see how things are done. Sometimes I look at it and think oh my gosh that would take me forever but the pay off is just so good and I'm really excited about all this. Especially recently because I got into my dream college in Florida.
My and my fiancée saw this in the cinema last week (our first date in nearly two years as our first son was born Nov 2019 and impossible to get out and then the pandemic happened and as i’m extremely vulnerable we had to shield, so got our chance with family watching our son and our baby daughter due next week, had a nice meal and saw Shang-Chi and it was absolutely amazing. Enjoying it in a huge cinema screen but only 48 seats, all huge comfy leather and fully reclining seats. (All of the seats in the cinemas in Cambridge have these seats and have had for years, no extra charge or anything.) So the film was a perfect ending to a lovely day and we can’t wait to buy it on Disney+ when it’s out to enjoy again, with the sound of our toddler and newborn baby girl screaming around the place. 😂
I'd love to see the breakdown of every fight sequence of this movie from the beginning's "hero"/"crouching tiger" fight scene to the final battle !!! I loved the 10 rings. They were very creative with this.
It's mostly cgi... So there isn't much to talk about, you can see in this vid is mostly just the characters standing apart in a green screen room, most of the actual fighting and action going on is just cgi.
@@RivenX3i the final fight sequence? That's what I'm thinking of, yeah there's some hand to hand stuff, buy anything with distance between characters is cgi (Which is most of the film)
Yeah I gotta say that this disappointed me. They should have renamed the video to just have "Good CGI". I personally thought (subjectively) that Shang Chi had a lot of trash CGI that totally took me out of the experience of the movie (not to mention the screen writing was quite lacking). Specifically the bamboo forest, and pretty much everything in Ta-Lo. My wife had to tell me to shut up since I kept complaining about it while we were watching it. Lol. I understand that budgets and time-frames can be tight, and there was a chunk of decent CGI in this, but man did a lot of it ring hollow and actually distract from the movie itself. I would have Corridor to do a reaction that doesn't involve the people working on the movie so that they can actually react to it in it's entirety. Maybe start a new series for behind the scenes looks?
@@WhatsMikeUpTo Not just the CGI was bad in Ta-Lo, it was everything. It just reverted to a basic MCU wide screen bad vs good fight. The background actors flopping around not really doing anything. The main characters somehow not being attacked and can have conversations while a brawl is happening all around. The choreography, the pacing, color choices everything just went to cheesey standard MCU.
@@IDiggPattyMayonnaise Yeah agreed. It was so bad. Took me completely out of the movie. Not to mention that the story just didn’t make any sense. The whole setup and payoff was lacking. The stakes weren’t there.
@@WhatsMikeUpTo Worse thing for me was the frequent obviousness of characters shot on green screen surrounded by CGI with lighting that didn't match and fake looking edges. The conversation in this video about the incredible work of artists making the edges perfect just falls flat when in so many shots it was awful. Amazing work in some shots and totally unconvincing work in others doesn't make for a great experience. You just get the feeling while watching that they had way too much work to do, even without covid restrictions. And yeah, simply no need for soulless CGI dragon fight at the end when the whole set up was about a dude and his dad. It should have stuck to that, and the emotion from the mother angle, which was decent. Draco ex machina was boring.
These videos give me a new appreciation for VFX. I mean I always knew it was impressive- but just the amount of meticulous time spent editing to get a shot right is mindblowing- I’ll never watch movies the same way again.
Hey can you check out the Ryan vs Dorkman lightsaber duel videos? I feel like for back then they were visually WAY ahead of any other star wars film and I can't remember how many times I would guilty binge them over and over when I was little
Gosh this brings back old times. Yet aside from compression these still hold up amazing today, and somehow they make the wacky jedi style actually flow as if it were a real technique, even more than what they attempted in the canon films

Shang Chi is by far my favorite Marvel movie. The choreographed fights, the CGI, the story, it’s all there! I love it. I love that they brought Michelle Yeoh in as well. She’s amazing, and for most of her career she does her own stunts!
It's super disingenuous. This is an absolute puff piece. Some of the CGI was good, but some of the CGI was a heavy contender for worst CGI in the entire world universe. How do you mess up that bad? The very opening car crash in the bamboo forest looked worse than anything in the entirety of Black Panther and they don't even give it a mention. I mean look how far into the movie this video starts. The bus scene? Nothing they wanted to discuss that happened prior to that?
I love that bus fight sequence! I grew up on all of those Jackie Chan Hong Kong action movies, and I'm SO happy to see that cinematic style more in the Marvel universe.
I love how you give these professionals the platform to come and cheer their work that is mostly hardly given the credit.. in the 2 years I've been following this series though, I noticed that VFX and CGI people are have started being recognized as the magicians they are
In my opinion, Shang Chi was the best Marvel movie for the introduction of a new character. Awesome mixture of martial arts and fantasy combined with a beautiful story.

OKAY! PLEASE DO A “STUNTMEN REACT” EPISODE ON “SHANG-CHI”, PLEASE!!!!! 😫😫😫😫

A teaser on youtube called "The Leviathan" has been one of my favorite sci-fi GCI RUclips shorts of all time. Very interesting world building with barely any dialog and gorgeous design.
My respect for the entire VFX artist and team has increased so much just by understanding how much effort they put in to there work and enhance the story telling experience for us.
Love seeing our Aussie talent abroad just absolutely killing it in their respective fields.

Commenting for algorithm, I don't know if it works for comments but better safe than sorry.
They should do The Austin Powerhouse Animations Studio catalog on Netflix.
Castlevania, Masters of the Universe, and Blood of Zeus.
You should of brought Andy from martial club to this episode since he literally played death dealer and was in the stunt team
Yeah, they should have brought Andy Le to review about the fight choreography..
not only did i already appreciate shang chi so much that i went out and watched the movie twice in theater, but now i even appreciate the behind the scene aspect of it and i just can't stop appreciating.. i really love this 🔥
When I was in the movie theater watching Shang-Chi, I remember thinking "I can't wait to see this in a corridor crew video"
Wow. The amount of detail needed to achieve the scaffoldings shot was astounding. I could not believe what I was hearing.
This is what made this film so amazing; the shots that felt so traditional in martial arts films were done so high quality that you forget how complex they are. The attention to detail kept our focus on the plot and action and we were never taken out of the moment
"don't get into it unless you're passionate" is so damn real for anyone who is aimless about their goals for the future, career wise.
This is why I don’t get into anything 😂😭
Didn't they address this with Awkwafina's character in the movie?
Listening to people talking about something they're passionate about in a good way is so satisfying :)
I was watching Shang Chi and thinking "Corridor needs to get on this."
Thank you!
Andy Lee from martial club has achieved his dream, if it's true that he made all the stunt scenes in this film, that's amazing, been watching martial club for about 5 years give or take, I know it's weird to put it in the comment section, but it's amazing seeing how far he's come from where I first started watching him
Yeeess!!!
Martial Club!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He talks about the whole experience on the Martial Club channel it's pretty cool and interesting what they where doing.
Literally! So happy for him
Andy Cheng was the fight coordinator and Brad Allen was the stunt coordinator/2nd unit director.
Hey man congratulations
Thank you!
The ending sequence with the dragon is pretty cool but I’m Ngl at the end of the movie I was like “yea but that bus scene tho 👀” lol
(All of the seats in the cinemas in Cambridge have these seats and have had for years, no extra charge or anything.)
So the film was a perfect ending to a lovely day and we can’t wait to buy it on Disney+ when it’s out to enjoy again, with the sound of our toddler and newborn baby girl screaming around the place.
@@Mr.Meme01 no it's not 😂😂🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️
@@RivenX3i the final fight sequence? That's what I'm thinking of, yeah there's some hand to hand stuff, buy anything with distance between characters is cgi (Which is most of the film)
@@Mr.Meme01 ok lol

The VFX and stuntmen react are by far the best videos on your channel.
Corridor: Bad and Great CGI
Also Corridor: Invites the movie's FX Director, forcing themselves to only mention the good stuff
@@WhatsMikeUpTo Ok, good, I wasn't the only one.
It's amazing to see how people can make these scenes! It's absolutely insane how far VFX has come since the very early days of Hollywood.
Hey can you check out the Ryan vs Dorkman lightsaber duel videos? I feel like for back then they were visually WAY ahead of any other star wars film and I can't remember how many times I would guilty binge them over and over when I was little
Hello there! Love your videos!!
I totally agreed those vids really bring me back to the old days hearing those names.
Yes please. I loved those so much as a kid
Yes, this
Gosh this brings back old times. Yet aside from compression these still hold up amazing today, and somehow they make the wacky jedi style actually flow as if it were a real technique, even more than what they attempted in the canon films
I love the fact you're getting these VFX artist from of the big film's show's that so many people are in love with the channel and it's so interesting to hear the perspective glad I was here before you even had 400k subs now you're at 5 mil onward and upwards. Shang Chi is by far my favorite Marvel movie. The choreographed fights, the CGI, the story, it’s all there! I love it. I love that they brought Michelle Yeoh in as well. She’s amazing, and for most of her career she does her own stunts!
The title mentions bad CGI but none appears in the video. I wanna see them talk about the really janky cliff shot at the beginning of the movie.
they boxed themselves to only rain praise on the effects by inviting the guy in charge of the effects, lol
You should look at the Gamera Heisei movies and look at how they blend practical and computer effects.
Is Heisei the 90’s movies?

I love how you give these professionals the platform to come and cheer their work that is mostly hardly given the credit.. in the 2 years I've been following this series though, I noticed that VFX and CGI people are have started being recognized as the magicians they are

@@kafa6580 a decent one at least. Please do a VFX artists’ reaction video to Aliens (by James Cameron): some of the best old-school effects ever captured on film!
Yeah this would truly be interesting, most of these new movies are just 90% cgi so in all honesty not too exciting since they could have made the scene anything. Classic effects are way more complex and creative.
Thanx for reacting to “Shang-Chi”! I liked the part where you guess how it was done in front of the creator. If you did that once per episode, I think it’d be fun!
Bro this is my favourite marvel film. It just hit me in the heart like a truck. Its story, characters, and their motives were perfect and i love the ten rings. Its such an amazing weapon being so versatile and just fills the void for phenomenonal choreography. And yknow what i might watch it again its only been a week. I cant watch the same movie in half a year but this is too good

Hey! Please consider doing a VFX artist react special episode on James Bond intros and how they evolved over time.

Remember some of the earlier once being quite impressive considering the options of that time.
You could look at some of Captain Disillusion's VFX. He often includes his own version of the VFX he breaks down like its no big deal, but they are often very well done and informative.
I like how you guys only covered the mostly good CG shots of the movie and never tackled the bad ones, there were a lot in some scenes! It's called bad & great, not just great!
You can't say bad things about MCU, internet rule
It would be a little disrespectful to the guest , especially since he worked on it .
@@rinkyylabzz4741 Yeah, I see where you are coming from, for sure. They have asked people directly involved in the past though about some shots like the episodes about some scenes in 'The Mummy', I think there are some tasteful ways to ask what went wrong. I would have have loved to know why, especially considering how some shots are so fantastic in comparison!
They were most likely *paid* to film this episode by Disney or whatever PR company handles Disney. There's 0 chance of ANY negativity in that case, even if it's subjective or objective. Every other episode that clearly focuses on a specific film ALWAYS has some average cgi they talk about. But here? Nothing but it's amazing and so good.
I think that they just showed the scene that appeared in trailers to avoid spoilers since the movie is still showing in cinemas. There might be another reaction from this movie with another scenes after the movie ended its run in cinemas.
I may not love most superhero films, but the insane amount of work and problem solving by thousands of people that goes into them is stunning.

Shang-Chi has become one of my favorite movies of all time up next to Ip Man, Dr. Strange, A Beautiful Mind, and Good Will Hunting
I actually think it's arguably the best Marvel movie... ever. Fight scenes were mindblowing awesome, entertaining, has its funny stuff, nice fx and without any kind of foreground hype. Had no expectations before watching it and I was so fking entertained by it. Awesome.
Shang-Chi one of the best films these year. Everyone kicked it out of this universe!

As soon as Dune comes out, you need to compare it to the old one, PLEASE!! There are SO MANY fascinating visual scenes in both movies that are done in such different ways, and I CAN’T WAIT to see you dive into how both were done!
This video is marking a pivoting point for this series. Before Shang-Chi comes home with the full Blu-Ray treatment and all the extras we love, we have gotten an essential behind-the-scenes look experience for the film. If y’all keep doing this, expect people to take notice.
After talking a little bit about this film coming out on Disney plus and rewatching this episode I realize that it's one of the most intricate videos on a movie you made so far! Super interesting and makes me even appreciate it more watching it a second time! Hope you can invite him more often in the future!
I loved the movie, although I do kinda want to know more about that one shot where Shang-Chi hits the lake. That was the only shot that stood out in a bad way, and felt really different from the rest of the movie.
You guys should react to "K/DA - Villain" - it's definitely the most interesting and well made music video in terms of CGI and cinematography

Star Trek TOS (the enemy within and other times there were two Kirk's) and Stargate same actor two people

Also, please do Stargate (SG-1) as a whole, the show was amazing and had since pretty good effects and stunts, in particular I should like you to try to work out how they did the Stargate lighting (you've now done the kawoosh but this is kinda funny). And the really, really good effects (for the time in Atlantis, including the episode epiphany with a semi-transparent creature which Shephard jumps on).
Further there is a great stunt in the Stargate Atlantis episode Vegas, with someone falling off a building and a good stunt in Sateda.
