Thank you both for sharing this lovely book. Hope you are having a merry Christmas
Thank you, Mildred! We did - though I caught a cold, which is never fun at Christmas.. Hopefully it'll be gone soon! And hope you had a very Merry Christmas, too!
Just a phenomenal book and presentation. Some of those concert shots are truly stunning, should be re-titled, “Elvis Unhinged”!!!
I think sometimes we tend to forget what a revolutionary figure Elvis was at that time, just a striking looking man and a true stylist, not only in music, but fashion.
There’s a certain look to me about Elvis, saint, but definitely sinner, all wrapped up in one!!! I will definitely be on the lookout for this stunning, stellar piece for my collection.
Thanks guys, and I know John slipped out a word out, but Jamie, did one fall out of your mouth at 15:26? 😂
Thanks Again. 😊👍
You're very welcome, Frankie! Funny enough, this episode was supposed to be scheduled for Friday, but I'm sick with a cold and didn't put the date right, lol!
Totally agreed on Elvis - just all of it wrapped into one!
And iirc, at that moment, my mouth was dry and I was wetting my lips! 😆
Awesome book & presentation! And a happy surprise this popped up early!
Phew apthe book is going for £305...out of my price bracket. Thank you for showing the book in full.
You're very welcome! It's beautiful, so hopefully they do another pressing someday and bring the price back down!
Thanks for the page by page look at this book, love the 50s look. Going for $300 currently. 😮
Taschen has a great book, “Elvis and the birth of Rock n Roll” showing Alfred Wertheimer photography. Definitely worth a look.
You're very welcome, Ryan! And we'll have to check that book out!
GREAT PICS..thanks for sharing this!
You're very welcome, Thomas!
I always thought those first shots were taken at Audubon too! Elvis’s poses might have changed over the years but the fans outstretched arms did not lol. I think that game is called bumper pool. This was fantastic thanks for sharing
You're very welcome! And yeah, great book!
this one great Elvis book my friend
Thank you, Nigel!
you welcome Jamie and John
There must be more of a story behind this book because FTD distributed an earlier book in 2011 called “A Moment In Time - 4 Days In 56” by Michael Rose featuring the Phillip Harrington images for the first time, from the Library of Congress, some of which featured in Young Man With The Big Beat at the time. Do you have that book? Would be worth a follow up probably.
Dang i once seen this for a steal price on ebay didnt go for it. This video makes me regret that....
I've been there on things like this before - it's painful! Sorry about that! Well, now you know to grab it if you see a good price again, though!
