This is a tuned Civilian Crown Vic versus an Untuned Police Interceptor. The gears in the Interceptor is either 3.27 or 3.55. The gears in the Civilian is 2.73 . When it comes to the tune systems on these cars think of it more of an "optimized" setting. Faster shifting (especially on Marty tunes), optimization for different fuel types on the fly (especially if the tuner is preset accounting for mods you have). Still worth it but usually won't be a race decider.
