Great info . I just got my first pair of romal reins from Pat and Deb . I will be following you as well to soak up as much knowledge as possible. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos.
@@janboogaerts1616 Question: For someone such as myself, that doesn't rope, cut, rein nor work with cattle anymore and as a conneseur and believer in traditional aspects of the trade and as someone that just trailrides a few times a year would you recommend a set of romal reins with rein chains or just a plain old set of leather reins?
@@MarshallMcCrory I'ld say whatever you prefer and what works best for you. Just because something works for me or I prefer something doesn't necessarily mean it works for others just as well. I can only explain what my preferences and experiences are. I would say for trail rides romal reins may be easier, but we also have to factor in the 3rd factor, being the horse and how it was trained
@@janboogaerts1616 It's just a little mare that was trained fof kids. She works for because I don't have need of nothing to stand while sadlled, mounted and ridin and lookin around..... I never learned to rope in my younger days,so just basic walkin/neck reinin is all I'm needin these days.
That means only the rein. I have a leather strap connector which might be anywhere between 1" and 2" connecting the rein and the chain, and my rein chains usually are between 10" and 12" long
I like the romals you have

Enjoyed it!
Hello Sir, I truly appreciate your videos and advice! I would like a set of Coastal reins, can you make me a set? Sincerely, Shawn Wilson
follow me on facebook or in the rawhiders gathering facebook group. whenever I make something it might be for sale.
great stuff Jan. If you can reverse your video so it isn't a mirror image I won't get confused on left and right!
You are asking me to do stuff that is way above my paygrade , but I'll ask next time when I see my mentor on this 🙂
@@janboogaerts1616 are you using an Iphone to record ? if so is it where you can see yourself as you are filming?
@@WesternWandererJM yessir, an Android. And yes I can see it so I stay in frame
Thank Sir for your information. Are your builds for sale.
I don't take orders, but for the right offer I may sell
When you say that your coastal reins are about 32 inches long, does that include the rein chains, or is it just the braided reins?
That means only the rein. I have a leather strap connector which might be anywhere between 1" and 2" connecting the rein and the chain, and my rein chains usually are between 10" and 12" long
@@janboogaerts1616 I appreciate the answer!

Do you have a website or contact info?
Now pick up the leather reins and hold them exactly like you did the last ones, instead of letting them ride on the pads of your hand.
