2:55 Yeah, they did edit out a lot of the dialog for time. The judges also get a breakdown describing you from the entrance interviews, so they know what questions to ask.
4:30 YES!! Nate is a GREAT singer with perfect pitch, but he prefers to be the silent instrumentalist.
4:47 Thank you for not pointing out how absolutely terrible that riff was... Worst vocal run of my entire career immortalized on AGT. Great. Perfect. Wonderful.
5:15 Jonas is PARTIALLY right. We knew we had to end with "You Will Be Found" but all of the other song/character combinations were random.

I literally refused to stand up from where I was despite agreeing to go on stage when I was 5 LMAO. It got better when I was 7 and I became a regular on stage. The trick is to only look at the people who are also on the stage or look at inanimate objects
Yes, I am autistic too and, although I'm currently kinda used to talking to 40-50 people because of university seminars, I'd be absolutely freaking out on that stage (bigger public, appears on TV, judges that can be awful when they want to), and would probably not be able to sing without messing it up. They did great, both talent and overcoming-anxiety wise.
I still remember watching Gabe and Nate perform at BronyCon back in 2013. Now seeing them take the stage at America's Got Talent is incredible. They've come so far! :)

I honestly thought they should have gotten the golden buzzer. I mean on the rare occasion, impressions were not super on point. Maybe it was scripted, but all tv is to some degree. Their audition was better than some that actually got the golden buzzer.

I feel like they normally give "nobodies" the Golden buzzer. Basically someone who hasn't already had a spotlight. Gabriel obviously was singing for the Army and already a popular musician so it's possible that they think they have a good chance of making it far enough that way. They don't need help from the Golden Buzzer

I've cried every single time I've watched this performance. After everything Gabe has been through since spring of 2021, seeing a panel of judges cheering with a standing ovation & the energy in the crowd so explosive...it makes me so happy. He totally deserves it 💚

I have loved what they have done, honestly they have quite a great talent. Not only does he sing great, but the impressions are unbelievable.
That said, that does not mean that I don't hate programs of this type more and more... nowadays it is worth little that you have talent, every time we see more "celebrities" of the internet appearing in these programs, and it is ironic because most of them do not go by their own decision, but because the program has called them.
Talent shows where all the acts, all the songs, all the jokes, etc... are already prepared? no, thanks. Worse than "The Voice"

Yeah, talent shows are getting kind of repetitive and formulaic... and it's kinda obvious that a lot of the stuff on there is scripted.
false is been debunked that a bunch of acts that are people who are established or "successful" to some degree actually willingly come to the show or audition to have more exposure or make their talents more well-known to the general public (celia munoz talked about this perfectly) none of it is prepared because every act that auditions have to go through other rounds of auditions before they go to the main stage (as some of them talked about like madelyn) so everyone is on the same boat no one is given a special advantage.. and for the acts that are scouted they still have to go the whole auditioning process some are even rejected in the main stage

im going to just say roomie and everyone else ive been watching doing these impression videos all are great vocalists. i love the fake hate type banter between them because it brings out a bit of comedy and entertainment. I just hope that everyone is having fun and not letting people bing them down and maybe roomie and anthony vincent might go onto agt and do a performance of songs as well??? i love watching these videos
Roomie has said in the past (and I totally believe) that he was approached about being on one (or more) of these singing shows. So don’t feel too bad for Joel. Roomie, maybe you should rethink and hit that stage. Such a talented, nice group of guys. And yes Jonas has a great voice too.
We've both been reached out too many times in the past by Idol, The Voice, The X-Factor, etc. AGT is the only "talent show" I would do, though, as the contract is the least restrictive. I'd totally recommend it to anyone who wants to try it out!

This is freaking awesome. I remember I was five when you released your first voice impressions when singing, I tried learning voice impressions and only got 3 voices in and gave up. I don’t know how you all do this stuff.

Since I also do impressions, I can really appreciate people who can do great impressions, and I loved these guy's act! The singing was incredible, and I especially loved the Simon Cowell impression! WOW! Glad they made into the top five, but wish they had gone farther. Incredible! And you, Roomie, always bring more laughs with all your comments!

I was a follower of Gabe's back when he was still in the Navy. Followed him into his Brony fandom career where he just did fan concerts and into his more professional music career doing shows with the voice actors of MLP and eventually his recruitment into the show itself. Even have some penthouse party videos from back in the day (we were all blasted and for some reason had everyone in the penthouse sign an old McDouble, including a drunk Gabe).
He's definitely worked hard for what he's got now, and deserves it.
I always, always adore the relationship and fun banter between Joel and Gabe.

They did take it to a whole another level with off the wall impressions
There’s approximately a 1% chance that the songs WERENT chosen by producers beforehand, but even still, they absolutely NAILED that performance. To me, it doesn’t matter how much time they had to practice because other artists know what they’re doing for days or maybe even weeks before going on AGT so these two probably had less time than normal to practice. So it’s absolutely an impressive feat
We chose our own songs but had to get them approved.
@@BlackGryph0n I was talking about what Joel said in the video - the specific combination of songs and impressions. He (as well as I) believed that producers most likely told the judges what songs to select (due to requiring pop culture/famous songs, not just any old random song like “Dr Poopy Goes to Town” by The Buttsniffers or something lolol). And that way you’d have known what to practice ahead of time, like all the other contestants. Joel said in the video he wasn’t sure if you’d be able to publicly talk about it cause it may give away too much info about the production. But yeah. There’s no way they’d just let y’all come up with any random assortment of songs and impressions for the judges to pick, plus you’d need a manageable sized sample set to pick from so you know what to practice. All the other contestants know what they’re performing ahead of time - surely you’d be afforded the same opportunity.
@@wolfiemuse Well, like I said, we did have to run our character and song choices past the producers, but beyond that, yes, it was all random. We did not know what song or character combinations the judges were going to pick which means we could not rehearse. We did, however, know what songs and characters were available to the judges to pick from, so we had a decent idea of what it might end up like, but we could not prepare entirely for what happened on stage. That’s why some of the character impressions don’t work well with some of the songs they chose. The most challenging part was trying to come up with songs and characters that would work with each other regardless of what the Judges chose. We wanted to do that, though, as we thought the judges might be impressed that we had to perform it on the fly. They actually were! They made several comments about that, but it was cut from the final product unfortunately.
@@BlackGryph0n tbh that’s very surprising, bordering on the “hard to believe”! As a normal, non-content-creator/never-filmed-with-any-professionals person; before you told me that, I would have been willing to bet money that for a show like AGT (or any other reality-type show), the producers would have basically force-picked everything so that no contestant can just do something totally off-script. It would also have the benefit of giving every contestant the same amount of time to practice what the producers chose as well. I think Joel might have shared that preconceived notion with me as well, haha. Well shit, then I guess that’s even more impressive than I previously thought it was (and I already thought it was very impressive, lol!) Hearing you sing on stage, outside of a RUclips video you created, also proves how much you have absolutely trained your voice - I was never entirely sure about your whole anti-vocal tuning thing, but after hearing that performance, I absolutely believe you. The performance was absolutely excellent! I think your singing plus your friend/brother/pianist (not sure? don’t hate me lol) on the keyboard made a perfect duo, and I especially liked the ending of your performance where he used some creative liberties on the chord progressions & harmonized with you to give the song more of a “finale” sort of feeling. I think that was my favorite part - those chords he chose were perfect and I think your harmonies were perfectly chosen as well. :)
I know it seems like I might be blowing smoke, but I promise I’m not! Being totally transparent with you - I’ve only seen a handful of your videos. But after seeing this performance, that may have to change! Again, great job :) I hope you/Joel/someone does more reactions to you guys’ AGT run as they come!!
@@wolfiemuse each program has their own level of scripting. For pure singing competitions they will actually tell you what song to sing or you can pick out of 3.
For almost all the mixed performance acts, you do what you want, but they need copyright permission so of course need it in advance. Mixed shows want things to go wrong, or people having to redo their song or having to change the song. Happened so many times before. Making better tv to pu some emotional music below it.

Okay, you got me. Just watched the brothers on AGT vid, and they were very good. As far as "stealing", I was on "America's Funniest People" in the 80's where I did about 35 impressions and singing, etc., which they cut down to my Kermit because Jim Henson had just died, and that's all they were interested in, and it was a nano-second, at that!
So, of course I took umbrage to the idea of you new kids using the term, but watching this vid I learned about the origins, as well as your own playfulness and support to the lads. Fine job!
Anyway, with voice projects in 22 countries, in many languages, I'll just have to be content with my body of work in every media imaginable. ;)
And MAYBE I'll do a few YT vids, myself since I'm developing a stage show based upon my crazy VO career. Curious about MLP ("My Little Pony"?) and also BromyCon, etc.
P.S.: I was also a Registered Behavior Therapist for autistic children on Maui a few years, back....and some of my "kids" ONLY responded to my cartoon voices, but also DID some amazing ones, back AT me!

Btw I sometimes the production on agt has to approve your song but I'm sure the judges choice on the spot easy in implement thing like about Simon judging but terry they for sure had him select before and knew

So yeah, I noticed he only had the four voice cards and the four song cards, so if anything was random about it, it was what impression he'd do with which song. He didn't sing them in the order they were sitting, either, so maybe that was pre-planned too. Still, it's a fun way to present the material, and they did a fantastic job!

I know some insider info about these talent shows. Basically, the real audition happens somewhere else and then they rehearse after. OR the program team will arrange something for them. Like temporarily grouping them together or something. So yeah, this sounds like of those where it's rehearsed or arranged from the start

What Jonas says for the “devils advocate” thing: the show always gives you time to practice and will edit in a lot of stuff, decide what to show and what not to show, you may never see a full act. EMCProductions has a great video on this.
