    Great review! Any chance of describing the installation of the air snorkel, as this is not featured in any Tank owners clubs, here in Australia.

      Thanks!
      Ye Hua Store provided us with two installation videos - I will see if we can upload those and share them with you. I had the work done in a shop and they knew what to do intuitively, and it does seem quite simple from the videos.

    TANK300 owner here in China, had mine for a couple of years now, out exploring most weekends, regular trips to the Himalaya's, west Sichuan, Gansu grasslands, deserts etc. Great little car, biggest problem is being really economical with weight and the GVM... though its just me and the wife, which makes things easier... There is a Chinese brand RTT called EZNest, guy is selling them rebranded in Australia under Frog Captain, but its a hard shell, fold out, and comes in at 50KG, with a load more space than the GFC. Enjoy your travels anyway man.

    • @TANKampers
      @TANKampers  8 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks Jeff - that is a nice looking tent for sure - and spacious! But we also wanted an awning, so together the Roofnest Litewing and GFC Superlight came in (exactly) at 50kg! How is your rig holding up after 2 years - any issues? Re: GVM - do you think the vehicle is too heavy for the type of off-roading you do?

    • @JeffCleverley
      @JeffCleverley 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@TANKampers The EZNest lite comes in at 32kg, it's still a bit more spacious and means you can get a 270 on too just am fyi
      Vehicle is perfect for us, I just went to 275/70/r17 KO2s, but no lift as they can be problematic witb police here... I think if you keep within the GVM and don't over top load you shouldn't see any issues off road - it has plenty of grunt.
      Ive had no issues, other than a heavy foot, but I am keen to upgrade to the 330 next year... I want the street legal lift, re gearing, etc

    • @TANKampers
      @TANKampers  8 месяцев назад

      @@JeffCleverley Oh wow! I did not even know about the 330! V6!! WOOHOO!! Hopefully they put the spare tire on a carrier! I can see they have a winch on it - I wonder if the bumpers are metal? Must be! So cool....now I have TANK envy.
      Yeah - so you are right! at 32kg that would have been even lighter than the GFC! The Frog Captain site has them listed at 43-54 kg but maybe they embellished it - or - weighed it properly (LOL!) In any event - they look really cool and super low profile!

    • @JeffCleverley
      @JeffCleverley 8 месяцев назад

      @@TANKampers the 330 is a version of the border, so steel bumpers, winch, lift, but also has been regeared for the larger 33 inch tires it comes with. No tire carrier though.
      One other thing I did appreciate, even with all that, it's gvm allows 480kg payload

    Hey guys. Love your down to earth approach on your videos.
    I’m thinking of buying a Tank 300 but GWM is relatively new here in Australia. What do you think about reliability so far? Any issues with the car? Cheers!

    • @TANKampers
      @TANKampers  2 месяца назад +1

      Thanks for the encouragement @nikos5566! The Tank is pretty new here too and it hasn't taken off as much as it has down under. The reliability has been 100% and we have had zero issues with the car. After we rolled it in the dunes I expected there to be problems - but - NONE! It lived up to its name!
      Go for it!

    Have you tested it with some proper dune bashing? I have a BAIC BJ40 and I'm happy with it (after some mods done of course) but I'm intrigued by this car, especially since it seems some mods are cheaper for some reason and it has a 10 year warranty here in the UAE. What do you think about it going up some big dunes? what do you think about its power?

    • @TANKampers
      @TANKampers  7 месяцев назад

      We have taken it out in the dunes and had no issues at all. We are not really into it so when you say “proper” - maybe not? But there are others we know who do and they are also the ones regularly doing many of the recoveries, so I think it is more than capable. Personally we think it is very powerful and are really happy with that!
      We looked at the BAIC first and didn’t go for it only because our tall son’s head hit the roof in the back seat. I think you are right regarding mods - there is a very robust aftermarket market that is booming!

    • @escraper
      @escraper 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@TANKampers Interesting, and I thought the roof clearing inside was good in the BJ40 ahaha. I don't do much of wadi or overlanding (only sometimes) but I do go often for dune bashing, so yeah I mean go up the big dunes. I have done some performance update on the BJ40 - (including exhaust, suspension, tuning box, etc.) and its quite good considering it is a 4 cylinder turbo, and that is why this one is attractive. Anyways, keep it up and let me know if you are around Dubai and want to join a nice dune bashing session!

    I like the car and was thinking about it for daily and some overland trips. But it’s just too small. You are only 2ppl and a dog and look how many racks and boxes you need to add. For a family of 4 this car is just too small so I’ll have to go for a pickup setup…

    • @TANKampers
      @TANKampers  9 месяцев назад +2

      Hi Adam - it is on the smaller side! If you check out some of our other videos you can see we made a multi day camping trip with our two adult sons - so it’s possible.
      Our friends have two small kids and easily fit their family in with all their gear. Admittedly we have a lot of stuff, so it depends on how you camp!

      @TANKampers  8 месяцев назад

      Only two of us and our dog sleep in our RTT. Our boys were in a ground tent.
      You would need an XL fold out tent to get 4 in there, no way to do it in a clamshell style tent.

      @@uandme41 our boys were in a ground tent as there is no way they can fit in the RTT with us. I think the typical wedge style tent would not be suitable for four people - however there are some XL versions out there, but I have not actually seen one and just going by the width of the car roof, that is your limiting factor.
      You may want to look at the soft top fold out style tents as those seem to be bigger.
