why the munter over any other simple breaks device? and how do you combat coiling when using that frequently?

Fast to set up, easy to transition to other knot, does not require additional steps for lowering. Have not experienced any twisting issues so far.

I've never understood why they have to dub crappy "music" over these kinds of videos. It detracts from the experience.

Why would you do this? One slip = instant death.

Acceptance and mitigation of risk is a part of daily life for everyone. People have different comfort levels with risk as well. Some people want to live life to the fullest in an adventurous way, and some people are content. That may or may not give insight into why people do potentially dangerous things "for fun".

Well they aren't climbing without protection so not really, they use protection as you can see at the parts where it's needed, also they are not beginners clearly climbing matterhorn, assessing risk and mitigating it is something they're obviously doing through the whole climb.

actually, it would take a major failure on their part and a simultaneous failure of equipment to result in injury and perhaps death. One slip as you put it would be first caught by their ice axes, then by an elaborate and well-tested system of belaying and protection. What they do is not without risk but not reckless.
