I had planned on a different color but decided on the Ollalieberry and the guitar finally arrived and it's perfect, quite impressed with the case/bag as well because I hate the clasps on the normal MM cases. Great review of a phenomenal guitar!
Exactly like it, same parts same pickups, same woods, same guitar maker...only the pickup selector is in a different place and it has a belly carve(oh, and the volume knob says "volume" instead of "tone".
@@captainflamson The neck is also like 1mm or 1.5mm wider on the Axis because the strings had a tendency to slip off the EVH models. I think the old MIJ Axis EX had the same neck as the EVH models and the same switch placement.
How’s the string action out of the case? I had a used 2015 Axis no matter what I did all of the strings buzzed on the 3rd fret. I called Ernie Ball for help and they do not do repair work nor setups on used Ernie ball guitars. I took it to a tech and it turned out the neck was twisted causing string buzz. I ended up returning the guitar as it was unplayable.
My favorite part of this video is the avoidance of mentioning why that guitar exists to begin with, EVH. I'm guessing it can't be talked about officially anymore since he left? Besides maybe the pickup voicing, and the neck profile it's the EVH model I bought in the 90's.
Looks like the low E string is falling off the edge of the frets, especially as it gets farther down the board. Had a Sterling that had the same problem on the high E side. Had to loosen the neck screws and make an adjustment.
I always thought these looked cool, and I did eventually get a 90s one…. But the neck on it is sooooo small. Pretty much all EBMM necks are, to me, which is too bad because they make amazing stuff.
The finish is gorgeous

They sure are! That’s why I own two of them
Yes, I have 2 axis. Cool guitars
I got an Eddie Van Halen music man guitar in 1992. These awesome guitars are very similar.
I sold my old Music Man Axis I had about 8 years ago, because I thought I had too many guitars. Worst thing I've ever done in my life.
Bad choice man
Great Guitar,,, and Awesome solo you did,,,,your playing is Awesome,, I like the tune,,,, you have the track available
I have a sterling ax40d. However, I still lust for a musicman axis.❤
It almost like Eddie Van Halen musicman axis from the 90’s

Decent!!!! Cool Vid!

Is there something more affordable, that plays & sounds almost as good as this guitar? If you don't care about aesthetics or expensive woods?
There's probably a Sterling by Music Man that should be quite similar at half the price or less?
Evh guitar probably
EVH Wolfgang Standard
Nice guitars but 3k for a bolt on neck and comes in a softshell case…. Are they serious?
@WilliamZuest Fair enough. Good to hear the quality is top notch
Amazing guitar. If you can't afford one of these, get an EVH Wolfgang Special or Standard. Practically the same thing.
