this became one of my favorite songs of all time in a matter of weeks
This track appears on the 1968 Burt Bacharach Casino Royale OSS as Home James and Don't Spare the Horses.
Burt Bacharach later reworked it into a song called Bond Street, and it features on his album Reach Out. To be sure, this is a prime example of a cover that is better than the original!
These people are completly crazy, but in the good sense of the word !!! . In order to make these kind of outstanding sounds, you really have to be an A-1 top class/professional musician !!! .
The original track is from the 1968 "Casino Royale" film (The international school of espionage fight and also the final casino battle as Woody Allen's bomb pill counts down to 0) but this cover is really lovely on it's own terms!

That was one of the first things I noticed! Totally Stereolab.
It went from Burt Bacharach's song Bond St. In the 1967 for the music soundtrack to the movie Casino Royale to Stereolab's song Ping Pong. Stereolab is influenced by so many musicians who are in and of themselves eclectic in their own right.

@ElFamosoDemon hmmm, it sounds like a mash up of burt bacharach's 'bond street' with stereolab's 'ping pong', and the whole sound of this track seems to be a tribute to stereolab's sound (ironic I guess, given that practically every stereolab song is a triibute to someone or other, including burt bacharach!)...I'm getting dizzy trying to figure this out, but I've got a bad feeling about it, generally...
