- Oil Change On A Ford 2000 Tractor. This tractor has a 3 cylinder diesel engine. In this video I change the oil and oil filter. Checking fluid levels.
I really appreciate this my friend! This is my first tractor I couldn't find anything
I do not recommend tightening oil filters "as tight as you can" using
both hands. Damage to filter during installation is possible, and in
worst case that might cause just what we were trying to avoid. Removal
can be a PITA and there could be damage when removing a filter that
won't come off in one piece.
Instead follow instructions and common sense. Depending on filter brand and/or engine type they say "3/4 (or 2/3) turn after the gasket makes contact" or "reasonable force using a one handed grip" which is pretty much the same without oil on your fingers or the filter. Tightening to the maximum using both hands of a grown man is way beyond that.
To ensure filter seal, instead monitor the engine during first warm up for leaks. The gasket will react to heat and oil and hold better over time, so if it holds after proper installation, it will for the lifetime of filter.
Thanks for the info & thanks for watching.

Thanks helped a lot
What weight oil do you use?
I run it w/ stp & zinc additive pre-75 motors, helps lifetime of camshaft -- mines a ford 3000 3cyl gas motor , Ford rules!!
Thx for watching.
I have a 1963 Ford tractor f4000 and we cannot find where to empty/add oil. Can anyone help?
It takes 7 quarts with change of oil filter. I use 15-40 on mine, but manufacturers recommend sae30. I live at high elevation and high range of temperatures and I would not put sae30 in my tractor.
Thx for watching.
I have a 1974 ford 2000 gas and use 10w-30 and or 10w-40 just be sure to change it on a regular basis and you'll be fine
Thx for the info.
Great video!
Thank you and thx for watching.
This is a long shot but what's the black plug/sensor left of the filter? Mines leaking. Mine also had no wire going to it. I'm thinking it the pressure sensor but can't find info anywhere
Did you find out what this is? Mine is leaking also

I have a gasoline model ford 2000. Not sure year. Between 62 & 75. 15w40 is it? But that's for diesel, does it work well on gas engine as well?? Thanks ahead
I Don't know? Owners manual recommends SAE 20 (DS) for my tractor. Since this tractor was made oil specs have been changed many times and most new oils will have the specs or better then oil made in the early 70's. A local Diesel Tractor owner suggested I use this oil. Check out some old Tractor forums online. Maybe you can find you answer.
Leandro Fonseca yes it should work. I use 15-40 in my jeep and my car. I like thicker oils on my motors better, but you have to make sure your oil pump prv can handle it first. Otherwise it could get your prv stuck and can result in blown motor
