I've had my santa fe since 2019. Absolutely 0 issues with nothing other than oil changes. Every manufacturer will have issues. Looking foward to upgrading to a pallisade or the new santa fe.
Wish they never stopped making the Azera. I have a 2013 with 75k the car was definitely ahead of its time as it has more then most 2016-2018 cars. Considering buying one if these this year..
Looks much nicer and you get more bang for your buck. However the long term reliability may not be as good as the civic. Hyundais can be dicey at times
As with most things, you hear the bad but never the good. Hyundai doesn't even come anywhere near as many issues as BMW, Mercedes, and Audi, which all cost a load more with much fewer offerings. All the VW network. In fact, are terrible. It is one of the most reliable cars worldwide if you look at stats from other countries.
I have an 2018 Elantra and absolutely love it (got a brand new engine at 61k km's!) What's interesting is how subtlety different the packages are between Canada and the US For example, this is the top trim and yet doesn't have heated rear seats where we do here The hybrid model has base and limited in the US, but we don't get the limited but have most of the same features? It's weird, great video!
@@gabrielpinto9458 previous one was failing :D No idea why, but apparently it's an issue with the Nu line of engines Specifically the 1.8L, but the 2.0L has had its fair share of failures too
@@Bobmcjoepants I'm glad I got rid of my 2018 Elantra at 25k miles before mine needed a new engine. I really liked the car, but the reliability was a nightmare. I'm guessing your engine failed from faulty piston rings. It's a known issue on the Nu 2.0L. A shame because it's a very smooth-running and efficient engine.
@@palebeachbum well aside from the engine failure, tensioner pulley being replaced, steering wheel bearing failing, coil #3 going bad and a/c fan dying (twice), it's been pretty good! Thankfully all under warranty and no issues aside from some a/c compressor clutch noises
both are good little fuel efficient compact cars though the Civic has been around for 17 more years than the Elantra has debuting for 1972 model year as compared to the 1989 Model year though the Honda is roughly 3 ft longer than the Hyundai the Elantra being about 12 Ft long while the Civic is around 15 Ft long while an original 1961 Oldsmobile cutlass was 15.67 Ft long though at its longest the Cutlass was 18 Ft long which made it a larger mid size car/smaller full size car hell a Chevrolet Impala convertible at the time was 223 in long or 18.6 ft
the way you title your videos, way better than a Civic, depends on who you ask lol. if we're talking styling, that's subjective. i like the new Civic honestly, wish the Si version had more power. the Elantra is a good car, but stay away from the 1.6, i have seen reports on it. Honda has better resale value, though compact sedans aren't as sought after like they once were.
Im stuck between both the Elantra and Civic cause they're both nice cars but I think I'll cop Elantra, THEN trade it in for a brand new civic 🧐 and I'll get the hatchback with a 2.0 and manual transmission 😎💪🏽
Because this is just a mid-cycle refresh, they had to work with the existing sheet metal. Only the plastic bits have changed shape. I think this looks better, but I agree it looks oddly low and squished. Indeed it needs a total exterior redesign. Get rid of those horrible creases in the side and the weird pinched rear end. I don't like any of it.
Elantra is definitely a better car than the Civic, nowadays for sure. Hondas and Toyotas are in a downtrend now and on. And it will get worse for these 2 Japanese companies.....
was just at that same dealership over the weekend. Bought a 2024 Elantra Limited, leather, the works. Love it! I got the fluid metal.
how are you feeling about it now?
@@user-xp9fw3nu5i absolutely love it!
I want the n line but it doesn't have leather or ventilated seat option
I love the look. By the way, i use that left section of the odometer for my suction cell phone holder, which is what it's for.

Elantra is a great car I've had a few of them and never a problem.
Hyundai needs to do something about that left most section of the odometer, which has nothing on it.
Seems like a fantastic bargain. Ben, I just don't understand why they can't put one of those special storage nets behind the drivers seats.😊
Love my 2022 Elantra I use as my daily driver. Great MPG's, reliable, and no issues!
I just bought one and I like it a lot
how is the acceleration when I test drove it, I had to push hard down to make it go?
Great review.
Hyundai's making cars that looks like something from a sci-fi.
Lovely though except the front

This model has the 2.0l multi port injection NOT direct injection, also no turbo. If I was to buy a hyundai, this would be the most reliable one.
@@joeblow4888 agreed but still trust Honda a bit more long term

get the 2.0 and your good, the 1.6t with the dual clutch is the question mark.

Hey Ben. The beard makes you look age 50 you look 100% better without it. Just saying. Please don’t hate me. 😊
Why doesnt rhe n line have the features

How you got two tone interior in white colour Elantra because it is not available on the website
Its the grey interior. The dash and carpet on all models is black so it may look two tone but its not.
Bought mine 3 weeks ago. Love it ❤. Ask me anything.
How is it doing ?
Thanks.
i still like 2023 elantra exterior better but for N-line 2024 exterior will be better looking car.
Any idea when the n line comes out.
Now this is something I could afford.

Debating between a 2024 civic or this
has anyone had a problem with the acceleration on the car because it would not start moving right away when I test drove it
0 miles of gas range for my Volkswagen was like 80 MI
That front end looks ridiculous. Why is it so squished in and wide at the same time? They definitely need to redesign this car again

that's why it looks so good unlike most un aerodynamic bricks made today

Ugly car, underpowered, and it's a Hyundai. I'd take a Honda any day of the week.
