Probably one of the biggest factor on the finger fragility : Did they _really_ have to pin the individual finger hinges?? This really made the fragility going _waay_ up the charts 🤦♂️😮💨
The new fingers seem to hold up well so far but they should have originally been like that. I’m fairly certain the one that broke at the end was one I got mixed up and accidentally put back on.
Pinning each hinge isn't inherently wrong. What's wrong is the pins are too big. Not enough material is left on either side to provide structural integrity. Too much strain. The new fingers aren't made differently. The transit causing figure to get jostled likely breaks pre attached fingers but people can and have broken all replacement fingers just as easily.
@@MunkyDrag0n I guess they should take a look at how MMC made their own approach on poseable fingers 🤷♂️ Pinning is very risky for structurally delicate parts like fingers, and they should've just resorted to slotted hinges.
News on the shoulder ratchets: it is in 2 parts: A ring and a gear. The ring is very thin and brittle despite needing to flex greatly around the gear. Some rings have 6 teeth instead of 4 making them way too tight and prone to breaking. The gear has a screw and a semi circle socket keeping it stable but it can slip into the shoulder. This causes it to turn freely, defeating entire purpose of the ratchet. In extreme cases the screw can cause the socket itself to split. Both this and the ring breakage effectively total the shoulder, because friction is not enough to support the arm with how heavy the diecast is and the company cannot replace any shoulder parts at this time.
I would recommend you repair with Mod Podge nail polish and put gloss on all the other Transformers figures that they break as well as the third-party one with nail polish mod podge and gloss it
I’d be significantly less annoyed by the issues this figure has if it wasn’t at the price point that it occupies. Very few opportunities taken to add some part/detail separations and the opportunities they do take to add some color they end up being super sloppy painted details. Crumbing hands out of the box, and questionable tolerancing on and parts that connect to to eachother. This figure should be sold at half the price for what you get. Way better options if you’re looking to throw away $140. I will say though it does have presence and I’d still probably grab this over the siege version with all of the upgrades
I would recommend you use nail polish modge podge and gloss and nail polish again then glass it again on these fragile fingers for this third party Optimus Prime figure.
I still have my OG cybertron optimus from when it first came out (so 18 years), and it's lasted without breakages, yellowing or bad joints to this day. Literally built like a nokia.
The pins are too large for the fingers. They leave too little material on either side. The plastic itself is probably abs, the more hard and brittle kind. Can be strong but not suitable for their finger design
News on neck rotation: A user reported at around 30 degrees of movement to the left the neck feels like its locking up. Upon trying to get it to go further, the hinge that allows for upward head movement snapped on one side.
@@MisterSandmanAUQC is no doubt a nightmare. But the super mode feet cannons and backpack straps not being able to rotate freely are just bad designs. The shoulder ratchets being in 2 parts is bafflingly bad
I really wanna order one, but unfortunately I really have to get. What's your advice? Just so you know the situation is tense and has reached the final stages so the promptness in your response is highly valued.
They have zero plans to fix the issues. Consumers are reporting more breakages than they can replace the parts. Some are having a hard time getting new fingers. But hey, it's your money, your choice. If you want to reward bad design and bad qc then get this figure.
@@MunkyDrag0n I'd settle for a second run of these things with the QC issues solved. Perhaps with a Product Recall so Early Adopters aren't completely fucked?
Such a shame that the fingers are more likely to break than me finding a G1 Skyquake
... wich is (probably) most likely to break than this :/
The changes of them breaking are higher than me getting a girlfriend
So you’re saying the skyquake let’s fragile then commander of stars
@@metroplexstudios2406 No, I'm saying that the chance of the fingers breaking are more likely to break than the chances of me finding a G1 Skyquake
@MechaZeeReviews there needs to be a revised version of this figure.

Also they took a few years to make and test the toy if I’m not mistaken so there shouldn’t be any breakage problems in the first place

Ah, mmc, the company that *revolutionized* posability. I am ordering their optus prominon. May also order eris kultur.

Broken fingers go brrrrrrrrr
🖐️ go 💥
The diecast looks a little shoddy. Can't believe I'm saying this but it probably would've looked better painted grey or something.
Very cool video mechazee reviews
0:34 I concerned about Raiden Shogun, but I'm also interested in the Vaporeon figure as well for how fresh it is.
"Hey, did you kno-"
*_Gets shot_*
If they ever make a version 2 of this figure in which the QC issues are resolved, then I'd get one, but as is, I'm staying far away.
Man I really really wanted this figure but with all these breakage problems they really make this figure not worth t ngl 😔
I would recommend you repair with Mod Podge nail polish and put gloss on all the other Transformers figures that they break as well as the third-party one with nail polish mod podge and gloss it
The original TakaraTomy Galaxy Convoy the quality and durability still do well than Hasbros. Transformers Galaxy Force do well amazing.
The mold is so good, but the QC is so bad. I hope a second run of this figure is made with better QC...
I had the OG Cybertron Optimus, should search for it, lost it after some changes
The original is such a good figure
I still can't see why they put so much fucking metal in the figure when everything else about the figure is so damn cheap

This figure is such a dissapointing reveal as he has so many breakages 😢

"The figure also took my own finger"

Yes
Cancelled that shit so fast

They should have gone the Hybrid Galaxy Convoy route and included extra hands in different poses
Yuh uh
ngl i'm glad you didn't zoom vaporeon in the intro

Oh God it really has been 18 years 🥴
That's why I only buy Transformers figures made by Hasbro; plus I don't have any 3xtra money to waste (and I wouldn't if I did)!
Why are you wearing pikacho i dont now the spelling bye
Wow nice review.. thank you..🎉🎉
I'm just connected the problems with your toy and Toy Guys toy. why does this toy just suck, why do the fingers suck so much.
"It’s great not to own this hunk of plastic eh ronald?"
"hmm"
perhaps
This thing costs as much as a complete used version of the original toy.
With all its issues I just bought the original toy.
It’s probably “high quality” because that’s the best they can do
Better to just stick with Fans Hobby's when it comes out.
Just wondering what anime was that playing at around the 1:55 part?
If I get the commander of the stars I'll get a hammer and destroy it😈
I have that figure but the fingers not like in urs and the arms not lose
That toy guy's figure also had the finger idsue
Where can i buy the redeco optimus prime?
Finaly you have it
A big pass then on this one. I would rather get the armada OP from hasbro
Or the Cybertron OP from Hasbro.
Honestly that’s fair. Unless they fix the issues or if there’s a really good sale I wouldn’t recommend it unless you really like Cyberton Optimus.
Why does his finger’s actually break?
The pins are too large for the fingers. They leave too little material on either side. The plastic itself is probably abs, the more hard and brittle kind. Can be strong but not suitable for their finger design
Me after seeing it’s face:OH SWEET PRIMUS WHAT IN THE ALLSPARK IS THAT THING.
My cousin:It looks nice.
I’m literally so scared of the breakage on my copy that I’m either leaving it in the box or display it only in vehicle mode
Funny, it doesn't look like it's made of gold plastic...
Mfw you used Peter Cullen voice for AI voice instead of Gary Chalk. 🗿
I couldn’t find one 😭
You should review the jb predaking and bruticus.
I'm surprised that it didn't break when you ordered it

oof.. now the fear want to get his become high
I hate that character's altmode,beucuse it's very long.
Yeah it's too long on this toy. It looks much better on the original toy
@@obsessivefanboy7 Siege is much better

What is the point of putting so much effort into the hands and then just not bothering with wrist rotations??
It's a mystery why they don't bother with a lot of things, like freely rotating super mode cannons and straps.
I swear I want a 3p hand "degrade" so that we get the hands the hasbro uses, least those ones are solid and wont snap
This thing looks like a joke. How is it so horribly designed
It looks like it was designed ok, but the QC is a nightmare.
