- While we were in London, we stumbled on this place totally by accident, we had heard about it but had never seen it, pity there's no 80's machines but good to see a working arcade still.

04:48 - That basement area most likely held "Alien War" back in the day.
I was so upset when they shut this down 😔. There were loads of cool Japanese shops with their toys and sweets for sale too (& shesha bars).
Originally it was Sega World & it had the only Wendy’s in the UK there! How I would like to go back in time for the day and go there.
I use to love coming here with my sister and cousin's as a kid. This was back in the late 80s - 90s You could hear the noise from funland inside piccadilly tube station. I miss seeing Alien Wars, going up the escalator only to be greeted with the darkness of funland with the only the bumper cars and arcade machines giving you any sort of lights. It was at its peak when street fighter 2 world warriors came out. Everyone huddled together waiting around 5 machines lined up with SF2 ready to take on the winner lol Then I got a megadrive with sonic the hedgehog which around that time cost £150. Then a year later I got the super Nintendo bundled with street fighter 2.
Couple of questions for the Brits.
1. Who remembers that computer game program "Gamesmaster" and "Bad Influence"?
2. Who remembers the term "Arcade perfect" when comparing your console port to the arcade?
3. Try to name the old computer games Magazines we use to read?
I can only remember CVG, Edge, Sega Mean Machine, and Super Play. Name yours. Lol
I was in London at the weekend and this arcade is still there!
Nice to see an arcade doing well. Kind of reminds me of the Sega World videos I've seen on here which closed many years ago.
Not a mobile phone in sight. How times have changed.
Yeah buddy, 2012ish, it's strange how things change so quick, now everyone films everything and within seconds its being whored out for likes on snapshite or arsebook. I go out to clubs regularly and all you see is a sea of white LED's filming everything constantly. Does nobody actually do anything to enjoy themselves these days?
time crisis 3 🥺🥺🥺
Gutted, I was there that day too! Left around 3pm. Never knew it was closing at the time. Was a regular since 99. What happened, did the power just go off suddenly? I'm really curious, thanks!
When did it close? It was open on September 8th. Funland closed over a year ago for sure.
RIP SEGAWORLD
Funland is closed (permanently) but this arcade is a new one in the basement and appears to be staying. As I understand it a lot of the funland cabinets were sold off/moved, some to Las Vegas arcade in Wardour Street and some to Heart of Gaming (very exciting, check it out on twitter @theHOGuk), whatever was left over seems to have been relocated to this new arcade in the basement (which actually looks like two arcades)
Even that has gone my dear friend, the basement only hold the Laser game for Ripleys now. Its a sorry site indeed.
ive heard it all gone, nothing left this or sega world as it was called.7 floors of gaming all gone! Very sad indeed
I went there before long time ago when I was about 17 or maybe 16 years old I don't know I couldn't remember but it was years ago.
Tahir Rahman great, thanks for that mate
Billy Buttlord lol
I been hear to trocadero independently taking the 12 bus and stop at picadilly circus
troc as an arcade is surviving, barely though, but still surviving.
Rose brought me ere
wow thanks for that video....im sure NOT to go there again when I visit London next time, since the arcade section looks really dissapointing.....not even a streetfighter 2 cabinet? what a let down.....
TIME CRISIS 3 IM GOING THER ETOMOZ
