When lemons and limes are on sale, I squeeze the juice and freeze in ice cube trays. After they are frozen they go into a bag in the freezer. Two cubes usually equal about 1 fresh lemon juiced. Great for recipes, hummus, shrimp and zoodles and all sorts of dishes. Thanks for all your hard work on these videos. Happy Thanksgiving.
Hello! I didn’t know that you could freeze lemons and limes. I’m making reservation 😊😊😊😊. Actually, we’re going to Golden Corral. I want ham& sweet potatoes. My husband and his brother want turkey and other vegetables. It’s just the 3 of us “seniors”, so less work for me.
I'm hosting 14. Making turkey, stuffing, gravy, homemade cranberry sauce, baking rolls, and pumpkin pie dump cake. The rest of the family are bringing sides and pies. I've been baking Christmas cookies and freezing them for December. I made 7 kinds so far. I give a lot of plates of cookies away.
I’m going to my mom and dad’s and my brother, his wife and my 3 nieces will be there. I’m making baked apple cider donuts and apple crisp to bring for dessert. 🍎🍏🍎🍏 My mom always sends us home w/ leftovers too which usually means another 2-3 meals I can put in my freezer and I can spend less at the grocery store as a result. A win-win! 😊
I kept it simple. We had a ham and more than half is packed away in the freezer for later. The corn will go in a navy bean soup using up whatever ham isn’t eaten in the next few days. Some of the frozen ham will be used for upcoming Christmas breakfast casserole. And there will be some used in the New Years black eyed peas.
We r having a traditional Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday. Our son & daughter in law r hosting her family on Thursday. We r having turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole, cranberry salad, rolls & pie…pumpkin, cherry & Dutch apple. Other small things will be added in. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍁🍽
I use a hand pump for my dish soap, and I do the same thing, I fill almost all the way with water, then add the dish soap, then shake after putting the lid back on...this way I can squirt just a little onto my dish cloth, such a money saver this is!
You can poke holes in the lemon, put it in the cavity of a whole chicken and roast it. Comes out lemony and wonderful. Good w/rice and broccoli and the lemon/chicken broth makes a great gravy.
I am roasting two turkey breasts, making mashed potatoes with gravy, sweet potatoes, bread and cornbread stuffing, corn, rolls, pecan pie, and pumpkin pie (both store-bought).
I also love to find and freeze reduced produce. It is amazing how much you can find at reduced cost that there is nothing wrong with. My lemons I often squeeze into ice cube trays and freeze for when I need a Tbsp of juice for a recipe.
Happy Thanksgiving! I have cooked and hosted 32 yrs of Thanksgiving dinners single handedly and I'm 54 yrs young. Traditional meal, every year it gets smaller & smaller. One day it might be me & a bird. Joni from WNY
Thanksgiving is an all day eat here with leftovers for 3 to 4 days! The men and my daughter hunt at 5 am they leave so then I cook a whole turkey, stuffing, white and sweet potatoes, gravy, and frozen rolls( because I got on sale a month ago), cranberry from a can and cream cheese rolled in nuts will be snack while we wait for last minute things along with stuffed celery. Then desserts are choice of pie: apple, pumpkin, and pecan. Only cook massively for 2 holidays, Easter and Thanksgiving, so we buy ahead and feast. I also got fresh cranberries on sale so made some muffins and froze the rest for more treats in the winter.
We have 12 mature pecan trees on our property. We sell some, give some as gifts and keep some for ourselves. We have a nut cracker just like yours. I am always looking for new pecan recipes. We went to our daughters house for Thanksgiving. They are vegan. It was different, but great to spend time with family.
Being very frugal this year free turkey, some sweet poatoes I was giving so no pumpkin this year sweet potato pie with lots of pumpin spice, home canned green beans and homemade cream of mushroom soup and potatoes I grew.
Making sweet potato casserole from home grown potatoes, mashed potatoes from homegrown potatoes, deviled eggs, and fresh baked crescent rolls. Our adult children are bringing the turkey, gravy, dressing green bean casserole, Mac n cheese, stuffing. My 85 year old parents wanted to bring the pies. We are going to feast for sure. Thank you Emmy and Paul for the wonderful videos! Hubby is 70 and only works 2 days per week. I am 64 and fully retired at 62. We live just a bit north of you in the Hudson Valley. This is our first Thanksgiving completely alone. Our daughter-in-law is 8 months pregnant so they can't join us this year from PA. We can't go to them as Hubby has to work and is taking time off next month to go to PA when our new grandson arrives. So, for Thanksgiving, for the first time ever, I'm going non-traditional and we are having prime rib, asparagus, mashed potatoes and gravy. I will make the traditional pumpkin pie. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and keep making your wonderful videos. I've been pretty frugal for about 10 years now and enjoy finding bargains and cooking.
I use the chicken carcass to make my own beans in the pressure cooker gives it great flavor. Bag of beans are so cheap. I cook the beans & freeze them in meal sizes. Pull & season to go with my meal.
I'm cooking a roast, smoked turkey, broccoli with cheese sauce, corn, green beans, peas/carrots, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, rice with au jus gravy (from the roast), homemade rolls, apple pie, pumpkin pie, and chocolate tray parfait. We'll also have pickled beets and cranberry sauce. I've been shopping for this meal over the past few months, as items went on sale, so it wasn't a hardship at the last minute.
My granddaughter specifically asked that I bring a holiday favorite, 24 hour salad. And I am supplying the turkey and stuffing. My daughter is making ham and about 5 or 6 sides her family loves. We live next door to each other and have a lot of fun making these great memories.
I love you both so much! And y'all pronounce PaCahn correctly makes me so happy. A PeeCahn is what you keep under your bed at night so you don't have to walk to the outhouse. Much love from Porterdale Georgia!
I am making wild rice stuffing, sweet potato casserole, spicy corn casserole, green beans with bacon . Yummy Traveling to family in 2 states. Never show up empty handed. God bless and Happy Thanksgiving
Just wanted to say my son called me yesterday, he was at Bath and Body, and got the same deal, then when leaving a lady handed him a bag, with a wonderful large candle in it, and told him to give it to someone special. There is still some santa's helpers out there.
Have a WONDERFUL AND BLESSED Thanksgiving!! Can’t wait to try the pecan bars. You are right about thinking through every expenditure. God gave us common sense for a reason!
A note about adding lemon to soup: my mom taught me to always add it at the very end of cooking or the taste fades. I do notice a difference in my cooking if I add lemon at the end. Love your channel. 😃
I love you guys !!! your channel is the greatest !!! I save by hanging up as much laundry to dry as a I can to save on using the dryer. Also, I dilute a lot of cleaning items including dish soap and liquid fabric softener. Like you, I always go by the bargain racks at Stop & Shop.
I'm working on Thanksgiving, so will be making dinner for the house (group home). At some point I will be making baked acorn squash with homemade gluten free stuffing, homemade cranberry sauce and something pumpkin (have to have the pumpkin) for little old me.
We’re making Thanksgiving for four of us on Thursday and then getting together with the extended family on Saturday for a second Thanksgiving. I’m making pies and mashed potatoes for Saturday. It’s the first time in over 30 years we aren’t hosting the extended family. My nephew and his wife just bought their first home and we’ve turned over the hosting to them, but are happy to bring whatever they need.
I started doing brunch about a dozen years ago as my adult kids were never available later in the day. Breakfast casseroles and a couple of sweet treats, along with mixed fruit are on the menu.Everyone is out of the house by about 11:30. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Sweet potatoes and ham. Bob Evan’s is making the rest. My father in law is in a nursing home for rehab and iv antibiotics so we’re taking him dinner and eating there with him. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours and blessings to you and your viewers. ❤️🦃
I am shelling pecans from our trees as I watched your video! What a blessing these trees are for our family. I put a quart of pecans in the freezer this morning. May God bless you this Thanksgiving.
A wonderful video as ever, so many money saving tips, thank you guys. 🥰 Saving money and being frugal has never been so important. I am currently doing a video on making 500gms of ground beef into five evening meals for a family of four. It's a stretch but so far so good. Keeping it tasty, it's certainly making us creative. Xx
I was at kohls today they have what I call coat sweaters for 9.99 with 15% off si I bought 4 . I can wear them if our temperature's get high to keep at a reason level this winter. also wear them in the spring when it gets a little warmer. Making cheesy Potatoes casserole to our son's house.
Happy Thanksgiving. Love your videos! I'm only bringing the squash to our family dinner. I miss hosting a giant house full but that's life. Blessings to you both.
I get inspired every time I watch one of your videos. We are having a scaled down Thanksgiving this year and neither my husband and I are big fans of turkey but do like deli turkey so I’m making turkey and Swiss oven sliders on brioche rolls, sweet potato fries, cranberry relish, maple roasted Brussels sprouts and pecan graham cracker bars. Our menu has all the traditional Thanksgiving food, with a bit of a spin. I hope you and Paul have a wonderful and blessed holiday. Gobble ‘til ya wobble.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. We're going to one of our daughter's homes. I'm taking fruit salad and sweet potatoes. Those pecan bars are delicious. I make them every year at Christmas time. Think the recipe is in the Betty Crocker cookbook.
Thanksgiving isn't celebrated here in Panama but expats celebrate it. Turkey is expensive $3.50 lb so a friend bought it to bake. All the guests are bringing the rest. I'm making a broccoli & cheese casserole. I bought French's onion rings for the topping & had it shipped in from Amazon. It's alot easier financially doing a pot luck like this. Love the pecan bars! I could smell them all the way down here!
Many thanks again for this amazing video. The pecan bars, look good. And I believe I heard you say to roast some veggies along with the baking of the bars. A terrific idea. Many thanks again. Waving to you from Michigan
We are having a Mississippi Pot Roast with mashed potatoes, stuffing and rolls. We are "observing" Thanksgiving with my boys and my sisters kids and their spouses on Sarurday. She is cooking a traditional Turkey meal. God bless you and Paul and have a Happy Thanksgiving.
We are hosting Thanksgiving this year and can't wait to have everyone home after our youngest grandbaby was in the hospital this week with RSV. We are SO thankful Baby Ford is feeling better. God is SO faithful. I am making Chilled Asparagus. Sweet potato Casserole, Cornbread Dressing, homemade rolls and Apple Galette with ice cream for dessert. Our daughters are bringing a smoked turkey, salad and all the rest. Happy Thanksgiving, Paul & Emmy.
Love you happy thanksgiving 🦃.be bless from the Bronx.we are celebrating thanks giving on Saturday because everyone thanks God are working .enjoy your day with your family ❤
Did you know the best way to make healthy chicken broth is to add a tablespoon of white vinegar it pulls the Marro out of the bone which is the most nutrient part.
I found out you could freeze citrus a little while ago so I bought a bunch during the summer when the price was low, and froze them and now am enjoying "fresh" lime with my diet coke throughout the fall and winter. But what a score - 99 cents for all that! Kudos!
Happy Thanksgiving. Love the video. Smoked chicken wings, smoked pork ribs, cornbread dressing, Mac and cheese, green beans cooked with bacon, sweet potato soufflé with pecan topping, pound cake, devil food cake. That’s just my part! Others will have food. YumM my son in law is smoking the meats. You’re a great cook Emmie. ❤
I am Canadian so we had our Thanksgiving in October. Happy Thanksgiving to you !I just found your channel and I am so happy that I did. My husband and I are retired as well and own our own home since 2007. I love cooking and quilting and of course attending my church and serving Christ my Lord, God bless and looking so forward to watching more of your videos.
Your pecans come out great with that nut cracker. We have a pecan tree and I’ve been using a regular cracker and they are usable but come out on pieces. Good job!
Yummy looking pecan bars. I will be the main Thanksgiving cook at my son’s house. My DIL is a fabulous baker and will make lots of goodies. I’m driving 4 hours to the Portland, OR area tomorrow, if the weather cooperates. I’m dehydrating apples and finishing house cleaning today.
I’m hosting. Could be as many as 16. What a gift ❤️ It’s turkey, stuffing, potatoes, gravy, rolls, pies, sweet potato casserole. Others are bring relish tray, green bean casserole, salad , cranberries. It’s is going to be a FEAST! All will take leftovers home, I guarantee it! Can’t wait to make the pecan bars. If you sprinkled a few chocolate chips on the top, would it taste like a turtle? Just a thought. Emmy, you, Pal and Dixie Belle are a huge blessing to my life. Thank you!
I knew what that gadget was immediately and thank you for the lovely memories of shelling pecans with my Texan Papaw. I love pecan pie and use the rolled up ready made crusts that turn out great. I have a B&BW VIP membership and have already bought lotions and bodywash for stocking stuffers! Great suggestion.
I went online to Bath & Body Works the other day and saw that their foaming soaps were on sale for $2.95, so I bought 8 of them for gifts! I was so excited! For Thanksgiving, I am making a chocolate chess pie and a layered green salad. My husband and I don’t have to host this year. We are meeting at our younger daughter’s home, and our older daughter and her family will be there too. I love to watch the 3 grandkids play together ❤️ . Everyone else has their own food assignment, so it’s all covered. Happy Thanksgiving to both of you--🦃🦃🦃
Love, love, love your channel. I try not to miss one episode. May I recommend something that helps me save…..and that is a toaster oven! They’re pretty available on FB MP but Amazon has nice ones, too.
I wish I could say I was hosting or even just going to be home. Working but meet a family member I haven’t seen in year after I get off for dinner at a restaurant.
Those pecan bars look delicious. Hello Miss DixieBelle 😍🥰😘 I am making a turkey, a ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, brussel sprouts with bacon, orange salad, fried corn, cranberry relish, stuffing and a big charcuterie board. Much love from Arizona 🌵🍁✌🏽

So kind of you to say! Thank you! Your meal sounds soooo good!
We cook simply, freeze leftovers, break big packs of meat down to single portions and freeze.any foods not being used go in the freezer
Thanks Rochelle
I am Canadian so we had our Thanksgiving in October. Happy Thanksgiving to you !I just found your channel and I am so happy that I did. My husband and I are retired as well and own our own home since 2007. I love cooking and quilting and of course attending my church and serving Christ my Lord, God bless and looking so forward to watching more of your videos.

Happy Thanksgiving Colleen! Thank you!
I made a pumpkin pie. All I had to buy was the pie shell. I had everything else. The pie crust was on sale and with a coupon came out to be $ 1.74.
That's wonderful!
Your pecans come out great with that nut cracker. We have a pecan tree and I’ve been using a regular cracker and they are usable but come out on pieces. Good job!
Thanks Connie!
Happy Thanksgiving. Just making the usual with the trimmings.

Sounds wonderful Jeanne!
You are both delightful! Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Awwww thanks Holly! Happy Thanksgiving!
I’m hosting. Could be as many as 16. What a gift ❤️
It’s turkey, stuffing, potatoes, gravy, rolls, pies, sweet potato casserole.
Thank you!
Mary thank you!! You are a blessing to us as well! I love the idea of chips on the bars!
Thank so much Cathy!
Happy Thanksgiving to both of you--🦃🦃🦃
Happy Thanksgiving! Thank you!
Happy Thanksgiving to u and family and Dixie
Happy Thanksgiving Phyllis! Thank you!
Love, love, love your channel. I try not to miss one episode. May I recommend something that helps me save…..and that is a toaster oven! They’re pretty available on FB MP but Amazon has nice ones, too.
Yes, so true! Thanks for sharing and the kind words Robin!
I wish I could say I was hosting or even just going to be home.
Working but meet a family member I haven’t seen in year after I get off for dinner at a restaurant.
Going out to dine sounds lovely too! Happy Thanksgiving!
What a clever idea for the citrus.
Thanks!
The B and B hand soap lasts forever ❤️
