Brother i used to watch ryan, and the man was and still the only youtuber that i genuinely check the notifications just to see if he uploaded new video. Some might find he's content cringe these days but back then it was fucking hilarious.
most people know but when 12 year olds weren't even old enough to use an ipad when he made his videos theyre not gonna understand how comedy changes, comedy has been different from how most of the population experienced it their whole life
i watched a lot of his videos back then and I eventually grew out of them, but anyone can realize he had a big impact on RUclips during his golden years.
His content were never cringe to me, they were the genuine type of ''smart'' /creative type of comedic humor shit that even though they're so dumb and random, you find them to be quite creative enough for them to be funny, usually much more than other skit channels back in the days like smosh (not to say it's worse ofc I liked smosh too) just that I enjoyed ryans content more, also the thing about his audience is I feel like most of them would already be in uni now considering the age range of those watching him back at the time was either my age or older (and I am like already 20 now) and I could still imagine myself snacking to some good old ryanhiga vid
they were great but definitely a product of their time. If you go back and watch the old videos they are extremely cringe, but back then they were comedy gold. Humor will always change over time, and you just gotta know when to move on.

What a lot of people dont get that there is that you dont need that much money to lead an average life(especially if you are bit frugal), and there are multiple routes to get to that amount(9-5 jobs are a valid route that do in many ways cause less stress than being an influencer). Unless you extremely value money, whether you make 50-500k more than you need wont much change your happiness. So ofc it is furstrating when people think that smh people who wear the 5k bags instead of the 25 dollar bags are automatically happier....its still a bag....and that translates into most things....having enough money can be important for mental health, but having a lot is often rather counter-productive.

Let's say you are on a basketball team, and over the years, you and your boys go to countless league/championship games, and one year you eventually win. The feeling is amazing, but after that win, the team slowly dispands as people quit and move on with their lives, new people join, the landscape changes etc. That emotional feeling for the team may not be the same in your eyes. For you, the golden years have come and gone. The grass was subjectively "greener" back then. Even if you win again, It would be almost impossible to top those golden years/moments.

nigahiga/SMOSH were two of the many amazing youtubers 90s/early 2000s babies grew up watching. i miss 2010 youtube it was a great time.
