If you already saved too much data (such as many years of photos) on the external hard drive, that you can no longer just copy it all to your desktop for backup, how can you password protect it without erasing it?
Hey there So, long time ago I think I did all this to create a password for my sand disk drive. Although I do not recall doing the erase step to then add the files. Anyways, the thing is for some reason the password a create does not work. What can I do to unlock it and be able to get all my files back? Cheers

I am on a new Mac Air, with a SanDisk Cruzer Titanium 14gb, and it doesn't show me the "scheme" option, only the name and format. In format options, it doesn't appear the one u choose (the encrypted one).

then use convert the folder to zip file and lock
Why didn't you say that the data will be transferred from the disk? It's horrible. Tell me how to recover deleted data from a disk.

I am not able to see those options... Using MacBook with M1 and Macos ventura

When I did this it automatically created a “container disk” what is that ?
Does this only work on Mac with M1 chip ??
