Fix a Leak is particularly effective for fully foamed or pre-built wooden hot tubs. When dealing with leaks in hot tubs, we recommend using 8 oz of Fix a Leak per 500 gallons. For pools up to 18,000 gallons, 32 oz (910 ml) is the ideal amount. Keep in mind that large leaks may require two treatments.
This versatile product is available in two sizes: 8 oz and 16 oz. For our demonstration in this video, we'll be using the 8 oz (235ml) bottle, which is incredibly affordable considering its effectiveness.
Let's take a closer look at the key features of Fix a Leak:
It is a concentrated blended material.
Seals leaks in virtually any material.
Works exceptionally well in the plumbing system.
Can seal holes up to 3mm in diameter.
    Forms a long-lasting, permanent seal.
Only 4 oz is needed for 250 gallons in spas.
It will not harm salt chlorine generators, heaters, pumps, or filters.
Now, let's dive into the application process for both spas and swimming pools:
    For Spas:
Remove all cartridge filters before adding FIX-A-LEAK to the water.
With the pump running, slowly add FIX-A-LEAK through the skimmer or any other suction intake.
Continuously recirculate FIX-A-LEAK for 4-6 hours per day, possibly up to 2 days, until the leak stops. Stir the product back into suspension every 2-3 hours during water circulation.
After the leak has stopped and the proper cure time (24-48 hours) has passed, you can return to normal filtration. Remember to rinse your cartridge filter(s) under warm water before re-installing.
The treatment can be repeated if necessary.
    For Swimming Pools:
Bypass FILTER MEDIA before adding FIX-A-LEAK to the water. Sand filters should be set to recirculate, while other types require the removal of cartridges or DE elements from the filter tank.
With the pump running, add FIX-A-LEAK slowly through the skimmer or any other suction intake.
Adjust suction to the main drain or use a vacuum cleaner placed in the deepest part of the pool.
Stir FIX-A-LEAK back into suspension every 4-6 hours using a pool broom or automated pool cleaner during water circulation.
Continue recirculating the water until the leak stops.
Monitor the water level in the pool for 2-3 days to confirm the leak has stopped.
After the leak has stopped and the proper curing time (24-48 hours) has passed, you can return to normal filtration. Rinse out any unused FIX-A-LEAK from the filter as required.
Remember to never let cartridges or DE elements dry before cleaning.
The treatment can be repeated if necessary.

I went down this road, it worked for about 2 months then the leak came back stronger. I tried fix a leak again to no avail. Ultimately I decided to jump in and fix it the correct way. Took me a few weeks to isolate the l leak, open the tub and get through the insolation, but doing it the correct way fixed it for good. Usually tubs leak from the jets and need new o-ring and/or sealant.

What was your process like? 16 oz once and ran the jets for 24 hours?

I followed the instructions, but basically I put a full 16oz bottle in, ran the jets for about a full 24hrs. My hot tub's jets would turn off after about an hour or two so I'd have to keep turning them back on (every few hours). At night the jets probably didn't run for about 4-5 hours (as I set them right before I went to bed and turned them on when I got up). After doing the process I drained the tub, let it dry out for a few days then filled. It did work for a few months but then the leak came back. I Iultimately decided to slowly drain my tub below each set of jets and wait a day to see if the leak continued. It took about a week but I found the set of jets where the leak seemed to be coming from. I opened that wall of the tub and tore through foam until I found it. It was a seal between two pipes. I was able to fix it, and re-foamed what I tore out. It's been about 3 months and the area around my tub is as dry as a bone. @@touro106

In your description, you say to add 8oz per 500 gallons, but you added 32 ounces to far less than 500 gallons. How has your hot tub held up since then? Are there any blockages?

This works for micro leaks/cracks only and I found it only to work for a couple months and then you gotta do over again

Instructions say to drain the tub once it’s not leaking so the material can cure for a few days. Did you do that?

How long did you let the jets run after you added the fix a leak? Just for a cycle or overnight?

Does not work. I litterlay had a pinhole leak around a jet and I used a 32oz bottle. Followed directions exactly and even let it dry over 5 days in 90 degree heat. If it can't fixed a tiny leak, I don't think it would fix anything. Save your money for the proper way to fix. Believe me, I wanted this to work as the jet I have to replace is in the worst possible location.

Think you need a new filter, never saw one that dirty and green water?
