I can't believe Grace didn't mention "Castlevania". It is one of the best action animations of recent years.

Netflix's Castlevania, the show this is clearly taking after, is excellent. If you haven't seen it, you're missing out, I'd argue the first video game adaptation that truly excelled.

everyone here including grace need to watch Love Death Robots on netflix. thats is a great glimpse into the breadth of what adult western animation could be capable of if the industry actually tried
For me, it proved that a lot of video game adaptations ought to be CG and translate with the same aesthetic and talent of the games (they already have the cutscenes ready to go)
@@Damon242 Not necessarily, if you look at the Witcher it was still a great watch. And yes it was first a book series and then a video game adaptation came, but for a lot of people the Witcher was first known as the game before people found out about the book. So it doesn't really matter
@@jinjunliu2401 The Witcher is an easy story to adapt to live action (and whether or not familiar first as a video game to any particular audience member, is an adaptation of the books).
Other video game content isn't particularly suited for live action, with certain visual not translating well. However, my earlier post was in reference to content like Halo that has some problematic live action elements (eg. the Elites) and has already been realised in HD motion capture cutscenes.
It is worth consideration that some video game properties should be realised through CG or animation, as a live action adaptation runs several risks including expense, controversy due to casting, and clashes of aesthetic - in that sense video game adaptations are not too different from anime live action adaptations; some will most certainly work, others won't and alternatives such as animation are worth consideration.

This looks interesting. It definitely looks in line with Castlevania's animation style. I'm not sure about the action, yet, tho.
Greek myth has been done before with Peter Cheung's Conquer series. It doesn't carry that odd Aeon Flux vibe that conquer did, tho. I'm still interested to see what this looks like.

I mean, there's already a vibrant adult community of people who watch anime that's geared towards adults. The real question is, can Netflix make an animated movie that's worth watching? I think this trailer proves that they can.

Grace I’ve been waiting for this series forever, back when it was called Gods & Heroes I was so hyped.
I also really love that its by Powerhouse Animation who did Castlevania so that’s another plus for me. I hope it matches the quality of that series as well!

Oh yeah I'd remember someone was saying about Gods & Heroes coming to Netflix but they never say when.
I’m reminded of the Dante’s inferno animated movie that came out around the time of the game Dante’s Inferno.
So this could be good on action... shame that the characters seem like their going to just be slightly poseable figures during talking scenes, going by that face movement shown in this.

Just recently i mean for the last 2 years adults in the US are into anime, their is a rise of anime reactions everywhere on youtube and almost all of them are adults so i can see a market in the west for anime.
Is this an anime or cartoon I'm so confused what tf does anime mean isn't it animation made in Japan
@@dogjames7373 cartoons in the US and Animation in Japan that they popularly call Anime i think the way the art and the fighting scenes are off the top w/c is common on japan anime rather than cartoons is considered an anime. And one more thing that Anime the characters (physical characteristics of the caricature) the way they are created is closer to reality than cartoons.
