Can you do one about the Australian laws I have heard they are strange and unique despite being closely apart of British laws
It's impossible to lose a case with this guy as your lawyer
I dunno, that's how people felt about that Tik-toking plastic surgeon, and now she's de-licensed.
@777Skeptic she was dancing near her patients bro, not the same
@@ShadowsFallBehind Mike probably won't dance in the middle of court, but that's besides the point. There's other ways to f up other than dancing at the wrong time.
The point was people feel someone is competent based on social media post, but maybe they're just good at selling themselves.
Think of all the times you went on a Tinder date and she looked nothing like her profile.
@@777Skeptic never used tinder
Just because he’s really good at explaining legal stuff to laymen in an entertaining way doesn’t say anything about how good he is in an actual court
Law by Mike is one of the few channels I actually trust to be unbiased and factual

Most competent programmers can build an app showing a list of messages on a timeline (i.e. Twitter) on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Of course, making an app like that scale properly is a different challenge altogether, but the basic principle is not really much of a secret.
Twitter itself is a rip off of the yahoo messenger app status line
"At least when disney buys something just to immediately ruin it, they still make a ton of money off of it" LOL 😂
They should race to the titanic
Baaahahhahahaa
what about the mariana trench?
IIRC there was a copyright case where a federal appeals court found that code wasn't copyrightable. I believe it was ruling in favor of Google when a smaller company sued them, which seemed really suspicious.
Pretty much why DRM is so aggressive now days... Can't even use so many software suites without an internet connection.
no no no code is copyrightbale what you are thinking about are APIs.
@@bigpod which an appeals court later overturned, so both APIs and code are copyrightable. (Edit: So we're clear, the original case was not in an appeals court)
@@bigpodthat’s not mentioned on copyright law because code is no longer patentable meaning everyone can use it
@@ShampootheSpider2019 no you still cant just use anyones source code it still falls under copyright law. its still intellectual property and as soon as you write the code it falls under copyright
“not that i was not human” that’s something a reptile would say
Did musk bring this upon himself? Yes.
Do two wrongs make a right?
No.
Big assumption that Meta has done anything wrong in this specific case. Elon's accusations are about as credible as Trump's by this point.
But multiplying two negatives makes a positive ;)
Idk I like Twitter now more than I ever did before
One of those wrongs was putting a lot of people back in work so
@MD-vs9ff That’s a good thing despite the fact you are to foolish to realize that
This is hilarious! It's like one construction contractor suing another stating they stole trade secrets to build a 12'x24' deck that looks just like theirs. 😂
Accept one worked better once it lost 80% of its employees. So one was too big?
I mean one now clearly has less users than the other
honestly twitter claiming violation by NDA for simply hiring the staff THEY SACKED is utterly disgusting.
people gotta eat and they went through college and/or university to gain the skills.
you can't just bar someone from a job sector because you're paranoid, if you aren't going to keep them employed it's none of your buisiness what they do.
it's just unfair for someone to go into college debt just to be forced into entry level catering work to be the only option left for them.
No software engineer is going broke from being sacked from twitter, at least no competent one. Twitter has no issue with them finding a new job, just an issue with them working on a project that seems to be a Twitter clone. Lets say they went into quantitative analytics, financial securities, cyber security, or database management (just to name only a few of the larger SWE industries), there would be 0 issue, and all of them would be well equipped with their undergraduate education to handle this. Working on a twitter clone, however, is a complete different story. Besides, do you really think Meta will keep them employed once the app is fully designed? No chance.
@@Turtle-.- big difference with something being fully developed and having 80% of staff cut due to cost cutting measures right before the company tries to develop a we chat rip off.
And that is simply the huge excess of workers being flooded into the market, it lowers the bar for hiring due to them now competing against eachother from the large amount of labour being available all at once (yaknow supply and demand, but this time increased supply lowers people's wages)
Either way simple fact is the age of dumb investment money is coming to an end, tech companies are being demanded to profit so many people who worked at zombie companies simply won't be able to in a few years.
And when services like twitter, Reddit, twitch, even Meta and RUclips to a lesser extent yes people will struggle being rehired into that field.
And even after all that, my argument is that it's disgusting, not that it's illegal, which after twitter bricked the computers, and sued the companies hiring instead of simply recalling the machines from their ex employees yeah they have no legal basis.
Like just think, sure 1 dude with expertise can simply get brought by meta, but do you think a thousand people can just go to the same place? No someone is going to lose out nothing is ever 100% and dealing with numbers so big you're not dealing with probability you're dealing with statistics, some poor sod is gonna get kicked out the industry and lose years of college education
Tbh the amount of staff at twitter was way more than it needed to be. The company wasn’t profitable, and 10% of people do 50% of the work anyway so it was probably needed.

I was wondering what Threads was when mentioned on RUclips.
1:17 that seems like a really good thing though
Thanks for the update I was a motormen in the 80's and 90s nice to know what they are doing with the ne r cars
Is there part two? 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
5:57 I remember that
About 3 months ago I intentionally got suspended from TwitShitter for talking shit about Tucker Carlson, and then I appealed it by talking more shit about Tucker.
I'm so proud of myself.
Considering Threads is already dying, I think Elon won that battle. The lawsuit war is a whole war however.
Technically true but I feel like a lot of the people still on twitter are mostly there for the same reason people slow down to look when they drive past a car wreck
Tbh, I didn't even know Threads was released XD Even then, it looks like just another Twitter clone with no unique selling point (USP). Why should anyone get it? Can anyone please tell me what its USPs are?
I’m not clicking with the app at all. Thread May not go farther. Just my opinion tho.
honestly I massively prefer threads but they need to add a feed for the people you follow. then I'd completely abandon Twitter.
@@epicsheepgamer7002I assume the USP is not having a limit on how many posts you can read and two-factor-authentification not being lovked behind a paywall. When the competition is blowing itself up, do you *really* need a USP?
Best Law by Mike video ever
threads and twitter are both terrible
Bro really build zacks entire argument. When his lawyer team finds this, they are going to have a field day

Hey mike if you heard about the trolley problem where you could pull a lever to kill 1 person instead of let 5 people die could you be arrested for that?
honestly, he should make a vid going over the entire trolly problems, would be interesting
If i had to guess, it depend on whether or not the court find out what was actually happening
If they knew that 5 people would be dead if you didn't pulled the lever, you probably wouldn't get much sentence, maybe not even any. You technically killed one person, but saved 5 other at the same
But if they didn't knew about what there was on the rail, you could be in big trouble
If you pull the lever, then you derailed the train from it's original direction, to another where it lead to a victim. If they don't know that there were actually people in the original direction, i guess you can be charged for murder.
If you don't pull the lever, it depends on another thing: did you knew that the train would run over 5 people, and did you had a chance to intervene? If no, then you are not responsible, and it's the train compagny/train conductor who will be sued
If you knew about the situation, could intervene, but didn't, in the US you would techncially be safe. It's immoral, but you didn't directly caused the death, the train was going about their way anyway
In france though, you have a crime of "non assistance en personne en danger". Basically if you can save someone whitout putting your life in danger, you have the obligation to help them. If the court don't know about the person on the other rail, you are basically screwed. It's not as big as a murder sentence, but it's really not a small one. If they know, i'm not really sure how it would go. I guess you could plead that it was on the heat of the moment, you haven't had enough time to react. But at this ponit only court can say what will happen
Arrested? Sure.
Charged? Maybe but probably not.
Convicted by a Jury? Highly doubt it.
Sued by the family of the person you killed? Probably and you could probably lose that but it would be all on the news and you would get more in donations than you could ever be liable for.
I have to get this guy to be my lawyer
Twitter didn't lose users. They lost bots. I know. I knew people that were using dozens of bots to post their pov's and ads. And usually these people had thousands of following each other bots and all.
It’s lost a lot of users too. I know a few dozen friends who quit because Elon is openly bigoted. He’s a “free speech absolutist” for the right but bans people who criticize him, and many others. He grew up in South Africa during apartheid as one of the rich white minority, and clearly absorbed those “values”. Not to mention he’s been exposed as a fraud, those Tesla batteries aren’t nearly as good as he claimed.

So, the flag act says each state admitted to the Union, won’t have its star added to the flag until the next July 4th, but if, hypothetically a state were admitted on the day of, would that mean, they get their star added that day, or would they have to wait a whole year?
Rules as written is NEXT July 4, so if it’s currently the 4th that’s next year

Interesting case for Elon. It’s hard to find reliable, balanced info on the matter without “Elon bad” being the jist.
Part of that is because of how bad Elon is it’s hard to get the point across without getting angry.

let's go he made another
Imagine firing most of your staff, they get rehired somewhere else and then blame them for using the skills they had, somewhere else. Kind of funny that it seems like a big self-report that he's scared that the people he fired are actually competent and he screwed up big time by getting rid of them.
They were subhumans wasting office space
@@samuelaliren870 If that's not supposed to be a shit attempt at a joke, go touch grass.
Most companies wouldn't even consider suing over something by this because it shows how poor Twitter's handling of laying off employees was. A judge and jury aren't going to have a lot of sympathy for someone who laid off a ton of people and had trouble securing information and property. Even if Musk did win somehow, it'd still make him look inexperienced, weak, and unorganized.
Most include a non-compete clause if they give separation compensation. Sounds like he just dumped them flat, stupid move
