  • First time trying this device on a vehicle with a dead battery from setting unused for too long. It did exactly as intended. The NOCO pack cranked the engine perfectly.
My opinion, this is a nice quality unit, that subs as a great portable power bank and flashlight. It works well and seems to have plenty of current to spin a starter fast. The outer housing feels sturdy and buttons work well. Water resistant silicone covers over all ports. The battery champ cable assembly also feels well made. Certainly a quality product.
In case you want to see one like this apart, look at this from another channel • Noco GB30 failure auto...
I discovered that first flashing sequence of the LEDs is SOS.
The combo IN/OUT port is USB-C and charges the unit with any good standard 5V USB charger. A 12V high rate car charger is available for these.

A AAA driver jumped my 17 Malibu with one of these a couple years ago. The battery was so dead it wouldn’t even start when I tried jumping it with regular jumper cables off a 19 Cruze. The car fired right up with this. So I finally bought myself one. I can’t wait to use it.

Since this video was published I have used the unit on several occasions. It holds the charge while setting. For what it’s worth, I do store it in a small fire resistant case, but I’m confident the NOCO is safe.

@@chatrkat That's an important note. NOCO is a reputable American company. Many if not most of these battery packs are fly by night Chinese companies. I don't want their stuff in my vehicles, especially when parked in my garage.

You won’t be disappointed I promise. The GB40 $99. at Amazon is the perfect all around unit. I only ordered the next size up because Amazon had them on sale.

I have a question for you, i have the same unit and im wondering how many times you can jumpstart before the battery needs charging?
My unit uses 25% each time just curious if thats normal. Thanks

      @chatrkat  5 месяцев назад

I have used it aprox. 4 times last year, it’s still showing 3/4 change. How many jumps per charge would depend on the starting loads.

I got one of these 16 months ago, used only a couple of times and now it won't take a charge, contacted Nicole but they were not helpful at all.
I feel compelled to write a very negative review on Amazon.

I am sorry to hear, but with all electronics you certainly can get a bad unit. I assume you have tried a different cable and charger? I am surprised NOCO is not willing to assist you.

why so expensive? I just need it for emergency if passenger car battery dies. My friends COSTCO one jumped my dead battery in seconds and he had it stored and never used in his car for about a year. Costco one is 1/3 the price. I do appreciate quality and will pay a premium if something is worth it.

I agree the lower cost units work just as well in many cases. I just like NOCO’s products so I went with their jumper pack. Thanks for watching.

I recently purchased one of these too! I foolishly flattened the battery on my car by leaving my dash-cam on for a week!! 🤦🏻‍♂️
Noco products seem great quality, I have one of their Genius chargers too and it’s been faultless over the past couple of years.
I’m from the UK and was wondering how it’d cope starting our other car which is a 1.6 Diesel Renault Scénic - seeing how effortlessly it started that V8 I’m now sure it’ll be fine 😂

      Hello from Chicago. 😁
Since all modern vehicles are always using some power from the battery, even when parked, having a good “jumper pack” is a very wise decision. You made a good choice, the NOCO is a well made product. So far I’m very impressed with it and it seems to maintains charge a very long time. I also have one of the Genius chargers, I like it.
I only buy name brands when there are lithium batteries involved. I won’t take the risk of no-name devices that use low grade Chinese batteries and possibly chance a fire if the battery malfunctions. Even my NOCO is stored in a fireproof case, it keeps everything in one place and provides an extra amount of protection even though I know NOCO uses a high grade batteries in their devices.
I have not yet tried this Jumper on my 7.3 L Ford diesel, but when I do I will upload the video. I don’t expect the NOCO will have enough amperage to run the glow plugs and crank the engine, but it will be fun to try. Of course being careful not to damage anything in the process.
