  • This aspheric lens flashlight achieves over 4.63 million candela (lux @ 1m) and is the successor to the previous LightCanon project I built. This is currently the world record for a flashlight that uses both an LED and an aspheric lens. There are 3 LED flashlights that currently beat it, using optics that are not an aspheric lens. One of those is mine and I am currently building right now, and there will be a video coming soon!
    Below is the list of components:
    LED - Osram Oslon Black Flaw HWQP
    Lens - Optolife A380
    Collar - Wavien Large LRT collar
    MCPCB - Noctigon XP32
    Cooler - Intel BXTS13A
    Cooling fan - Noctua slim 80mm
    Driver - MTN electronics 6A buck driver
    Battery - 3s 6000mAh Turnigy Graphene
    Blackout paper - Edmund Optics adhesive flock paper
    Overall cost: Under $400 CAD

    If you haven't seen it yet, here is my video of using the flashlight during a foggy night :)

    Awesome, I built one as well with a 100 watt led inside of a ammo can. It is a flood monster. Now I want a thrower after watching this. Again awesome job 👌.

      Those are flashlights you buy, not make. The info about them is on forums, or just type the name into youtube to find other people's videos. www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?352661-DEFT-X-OMG-Strikes-Back budgetlightforum.com/node/50303 www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?442055-TN42vn90

    Does double convex lens of same thickness work fine?...i have found 30mm thick plano aspheric sqaure lens but i havnt bought it.... Its very thick... Will this ok?

      Thanks, it's about 165mm focal length. The lens I used is listed in the description, just google it.

    Can we collimate focused sunlight with this optics?

      It depends what you're looking for and what your budget is :) This particular light cost over 1k to build, however if you don't need something so complex it can be significantly cheaper. if you DM me on budgetlightforum.com we can discuss what you need, my username is Enderman

    Would chrome tape (instead of black foam) inside the pvc pipe work as a reflector and increase candela output?
    *Edit. Didn't realise you used an aspheric lens Infront of the LED to focus onto the second magnifyer.
    I attached a 6" fresnel lens on my TN36 (in focus it sits about 8 or so inches away from the LED) but will be buying an aspherical lens for better magnification. Nice videos.

    • @EndermanEngineering
      @EndermanEngineering  4 года назад +1

      It wouldn't work because it would just bounce around randomly and come out as spill from the lens. To increase candela you need the light to be redirected back to the led, which is what the collar does.

    Hey Enderman Engineer you should try mod a lep flashlight and probably turn it into the farthest throw flashlight ever 🤪

    • @EndermanEngineering
      @EndermanEngineering  2 года назад

      I have a new design in the works that should be way more powerful than any LEP currently on the market ;)

      @@FightingNavyman The SYNIOSBEAM used the CFT90, which is almost the same as the SBT90.2 except more inefficient. The LEP thrower will not be using an LED, it will be using a laser + phosphor crystal :)

    So how many lumens would this be?

    • @EndermanEngineering
      @EndermanEngineering  3 года назад

      About 500 or so, which seems super low, but they're all concentrated into one tiny spot which is what makes it reach so far.
