    I appreciate this so much. I found a video before of a similar top that claimed their pattern was free and size inclusive, but only showed how to make a small (or maybe XS?) one. The written pattern was behind a paywall, and also the only place to get instructions for bigger sizes, which I thought was an ugly way to be doing business. I'll definitely be making this one though!

    I like how this video is forward to the point, but i do have to hit pause alot because of the fastforward or skip to the next step. I do appreciate how it has many different sizes to include different body types. The first one I made from another video was too small and i gave it to a friend instead and have been looking for a video like this to incorporate different sizes. keep it up.

    I'm unsure if I'm doing things wrong because I'm following the instructions, but the size seems way too big for me as im doing 5x, however thats how much I measured before beginning. As the width I went to was 14in and the height measured 10.5IN to 11IN. The square also matched the size of yours so it isn't my yarn or hooks fault.
    I'm half done and the butterfly hangs quite low as well as the neck strings also being off when I'm trying it on. The top wing is feeling huge. When I have the butterfly body in the middle a little low on my chest like yours it falls on my shoulder rather than above my shoulder, and it goes right under against my armpit while yours looks like it is a bit away from your armpit.
    Is it normal for it to have a weird shape/ feel before doing the other side?

      It depends on what part of the pattern! Sizing is follows: XS (S, M, L, XL) (2X, 3X, 4X, 5X). For better visuals, I would check out the written pattern😁

      What size does your yarn say on the band and you can do this!!!! I suggest slowing down the run speed of the video (if you haven’t) and working it alongside the written pattern. If you have the crochet basics you can do this. It is mostly double crochet and slip stitching. Don’t give up! 😊

    EDIT: I just went back and checked again and I get it😅😅😅 it’s row 5-8😅 sorry for my blonde moment. And thank you for the beautiful pattern!!❤️
    So I’m following the written pattern with your video. And I’m confused at row 5. I’m making a size large. And I’m only confused what the colored number is beside the row. I know it’s color coded with the size you choose but why is the number different? I assumed it was row count for that particular size but that just isn’t making much sense to me. It has the number 8 in the large color next to row 5… but I’m DEFINITELY not on row 8 but am on row 5. Am I missing something?

    When your counting total rows is it from the very beginning of where the row starts or do you start counting when you split the wings.
    For example for medium your alrernating until you have 13 rows is that from the beginning of the wings or from the split of the wings

    • @MaeCrochets

    This is a great pattern and turns out exactly like the image. Only issue is I am big chested I had to make the largest size to cover my chest (upper wings fitted perfectly) however this made the lower wings wayyyyy too big. They went to my upper thigh and if I tied them up around my waist they were all bunched up and weird. The strings were also way to long went around my waist about 3 times instead of just being long enough to crisscross my back and tie up (but that issue is an easy fix)
    Don’t know how to fix the first one without things looking out of proportion and wonky

    • @gojoswife4218
      @gojoswife4218 2 месяца назад

      Maybe for the lower wing unravel it and instead of skipping 1 row you skip two ? Or you can wear it like that but instead of tying it around you wear it the second method

    Hi! Do you know the height of the butterfly's body? I did the gauge and i eventually managed to get it to the right size, but now that im crochetting the butterfly's body, I think mine is too big. Mine is about 9cms, which doesn't seem right considering the gauge has 9 rows snd is 10cms tall when the body only has 7 rows, so i just wanna check what the height of your butterfly's body is. Thanks for this tutorial too!! It's great so far, and I love how easy it is to know what to do for different sizes!

    at 16:32 she says you should end up with 9 stitches but I've done it 5 times and i keep being short on 2. to me it makes sense because at 15:16 she says you should end up with 6 stitches in that section, that then becomes where you work after to get the supposedly 9 stitches, by increasing in the first stitch and then doing only one for the rest of the section.
    so if i had 6 "base" stitches plus the one increase it's 7.
    what am I missing?

    • @MaeCrochets
      @MaeCrochets  Месяц назад

      For that section, you will be doing an *inc, dc* repeating. This means you'll increase, then do one, then increase, then do one, all the way across. So it's not just at the beginning and end, it's every other. Hope that helps!

    I keep getting to 17:21 with 33 double crochets not 35 and it’s driving me up a wall because I went back and redid my previous rows to make sure they were correct. I pause and count as I go but somehow I still only have 33!!

    • @MaeCrochets
      @MaeCrochets  Месяц назад

      You do a repeat of one double crochet, then two, then one, then two across that section. I’m assuming you might have just done two, one all the way across, and then two?

      @@MaeCrochets First off hi!! Thank you for helping, I was gonna cry 😭. So I started over and this time I made it to 35. I think I skipped some along the way because I was consistently two dc off but this time I counted each section using the written pattern to check. I am now at row 7 and it seems like I’m keeping up but to double check: when making a XL will I have to add more increases?Are the numbers in the parentheses for the amount of dc’s corresponding to each size? I’m sorry I’m just making sure! Thank you!

    Love the size inclusivity! Worked out amazingly for me, it’s my best work so far thanks to your tutorial! 💫
    However all the strings are too short since I’m tall with a wide rib cage 😭 If I would’ve gone up a size the boob area wouldn’t have fitted anymore (I’m wearing L).
    How can I make the strings longer/ attach more of them seamlessly? 🥲

    • @MaeCrochets
      @MaeCrochets  Месяц назад +1

      Sadly to extend the string lengths, you may need to undo the slst down and attach yarn to the chain to make them longer... that would be the best way to make it the most seamless.
