Starting with overview of the maps, showing the area, talking about parking and landmarks is a wonderfully useful up to the point review. Really appreciate it Steve and Sue. You guys should do more places like this unless you already did. Super impressed with your simple but effective approach. I am gonna check out your other videos.
Hey hello and welcome to the channel! Thanks for noticing what we do. Our goal is to clarify a location so that future travelers have a good idea of what to expect. We've done a number of locations along the east coast as well as California, punta Cana, and Europe! Hope the videos can help you with your future travels. Thanks for watching. Thanks for leaving a comment. Cheers!
Loved this Island guys and its so sunny ! Loved the white sand at access point 11 to East beach and that lighthouse was beautiful, great views from up there. I really loved the historic places like the Fort and the soldiers barracks. The tabby foundations were interesting to see too and that was a lovely walkway near the water . Such a great place :) ~ Anna 👍
Hi Anna! Yes, we have some cool history here too in the US, just not as ancient and cool as the history around your part of the world! Thanks for watching and have a great week!
That's some nice lighting you got. Great pictures. I enjoyed that History lesson too. The Brits certainly got their hands on a lot of land back in the day.
Thanks so much for this wonderful video. Which month did you visit? My husband and I are considering going in early March and are curious how warm it will be.
Glad you liked it! We went last year in mid-February. Weather was in the 60s during the day and min-40s at night. March should be similar if not a little warmer! Have a great time if you go, and thanks for watching! Cheers!
Been going there for 20 years, at least once a year. I remember climbing the lighthouse for $3.00. We are going there July 4th for a few days. We are taking my aunt that has never been there. We have stayed at Ocean Inn a couple years ago but we prefer St. Simons Inn by the Lighthouse but both are very nice and right there where everything is. One year My wife and I stayed there for like 5 days and never moved the car till we left. We have also stayed at Epworth. Great video and info, Thanks for sharing.
The area really impressed us so I can see why you have been visiting here over the last 20 years! Thanks for the tips about the hotels! Glad you liked the video. Hope you have a great trip with your Aunt! I'm sure she will like it. Thanks for watching!
We can certainly see why... it's a great location and a great place to visit more than once! Thanks for watching. Thanks for leaving a comment. Cheers!
We travel by RV. Where is the closest nice campground or state park to home base to explore SSI? We don’t mind leaving our RV and staying in a nice hotel sometimes but don’t want to be in any sketchy areas. Thanks.
I do not believe that there is an RV park or campground on SSI but there is a RV park on the island just south of SSI, Jekyll Island. And that campground is only 22 miles from SSI. So, you could use it as your base and explore both Jekyll Island (which is worth a visit...see our videos) and SSI. Only thing is there is an entrance fee to get on to Jekyll Island and I am not sure how that fee works if you are coming on and off the island during your stay. Hope that helps and gives you some ideas. Thanks for watching and for your question. Cheers
Hello! From what we could tell, it was very safe. We felt very comfortable there even when walking around the pier area at night. Be careful about the sun...it is strong so put on sunscreen at least twice a day, and it will be humid this time of year so take it slow and drink a lot of water if you are outside. Otherwise have a great time and thanks for watching!
Yes, would not be an easy walk up or down with bad knees! Have never seen a lighthouse with an elevator but if I do you will be the first to know! Thanks for watching!

@@TravelwithNJSteveandSue Thanks a lot. Your video is very helpful.
I wanna go lol
You Should! Cheers! Thanks for watching!!
Lol! Probably should've edited out the police siren in background when stating it's 1 of the best beaches to come to. 😂
Good point, you're probably right! Thanks for watching and thanks for leaving a comment. Cheers!
Comedian Flip Wilson had a place there at one time…so did Carol Burnett. And Tom Selleck as well….
Very interesting! And I can see why....it's a really nice place! Thanks for watching and for sharing that information! Cheers!
Would be nice if the lighthouse had an elevator - for folks with bad knees.
