I think that the Aluber token description would explain this ending. "It mocked the light and deceived the darkness" could mean how he toyed with Albaz and backstabbed Maximus. Once he accomplished his goal, he decided to use Cartesia's gem to mess with the White Zoa ritual, turning Maximus into Dis Pater instead, then he just decided to sit back and enjoy the show, with the gem still in his hand

THEORY TIME: Given we now have translations, we know that Albaz and Eclessia are heading on a journey to "Recover what was lost", and we also know that Lululith was indeed Fleur in the drivers seat, and that Guiding Quem is Quem taking control and leaving the fight after Fleur expended to much strength to protect Eclessia, we can speculate on what Guiding Quem and the heroes are doing! Given Albaz and Ecclessia's FIRST priority would likely be to save Fleur- and that the compass they are currently using is a soul of one of the saints... It's highly likely they are headed straight for Guiding Quem, which contains all the other saint souls. Then you take the name- and it seems Quem might have left that soul behind on purpose to GUIDE them to her. For what reason? We can't know, but it seems very likely Fleur CAN be saved and perhaps Quem will leverage the heroes desire to save her to accomplish her own ends. It's likely that saving Fleur from Quem will come at the cost of entangling the heroes in Aluber's schemes once again. It'll be exciting to see what happens!
Also, I will say another thing. I thank you Nova for getting me so interested in your rendition of the story of Albaz. Got me invested into the deck and pulled one of my favorite monster from the storyline, Chengying. Here’s to hoping we get season 2 of the story once they make more cards (really hope they continue it and dont put us on a cliffhanger -w-;)
My interpretation of Luluwalilith is that she is Fleur revived by Quem for the purposes of destroying Dis Pater. To start explaining, I also think Dis Pater is a form of Alba Zoa that has been taken over by Aluber. That would explain the transition to dragon typing and a Bystial name. After being corrupted, Quem would be the only member of Despia left. (or at least the only one that's both loyal and a living being.) As a result Quem has two possible motives for destroying Dis Pater. It is now a threat to her, or she wants to strike down Aluber for messing things up for her and the other Despias. Also, the art of Swordsoul Blazing Awakening reads to me as though Luluwalilith's and Albion's attacks are cooperative, and until there's art of Luluwalilith fighting the Tri-Brigades/Springans/Albaz I don't think there's a good argument for her being revived by Quem for a different reason. As for what happens to her after the battle, yeah I have no clue. I assume she either dissipates or begin following Quem, acting as her knight.
Love the tales of abyss osts really brought back memories of playing that game years ago. So thank you for taking a past love and combining it with a new love in the albaz storyline. This was an amazing final episode for the first season.
Fallen of Argyos feels like Spright Sprind somehow combined with the corpse of The Bystial Lubellion at the end of the battle and became a new being. Seemingly inspired by Sargas to evolve even further (although no idea if Sargas was destroyed). But probably called "Fallen of Argyos" due to being too different from its fellow Spright and Springans, being casted away as a pariah, but oddly accepting of their fate as a new being. And judging by the artwork, content to go on its own journey to discover what it is. Or protect the land while Ecclesia and Albaz go on their own discovery journey of the Boundless Land
This lore story gave me goosebumps all the way through. Especially Fleurdelis' role in all of it. Worth the wait to see the finale for this part of the story.
Something I haven't seen anyone mention is the tiny crack in Bystial Lubellion's chest orb, that empty piece could be the gem that Blazing Cartesia had and she used it as a catalyst to either convert things into Bystials or to control them. I infer that she has an interaction with the Bystials since she's the only one sharing any art with one. Why does she have it and how did Lubellion lose it? I infer that he lost that piece because looking at his orb it's cracked, it wasn't a clean separation. Why does Cartesia take the hit for Lubellion leading to Branded Light, does Quem have some relationship to Aluber, does Aluber serve Quem, or does Quem serve Aluber, are they partners? Where does Quem even come from if she was using Ecclesia and White Relic as host bodies? Notice how when a random dragon archetype gets introduced in the big lore things stop making sense and the game gets something busted like back with guardragon. Mortals pray that Visas Starfrost doesn't get a dragon archetype introduced
You know its kinda funny(sad?) that Fleur has fun background stories to point towards an Aluber alliance. Her possible connections to Ad Libitum: -Obviously the long white hair. -Only 3 monsters posses the “ally boost for 500” and thats Fleur,Luluwalilith, and Ashyan.(pre-despia Libitum) -Despite some cards depicting Despia/Dogmatika forces being present, neither Fleur or Ashyan/Ad have appeared at the same time. Funny note: While confirming the above i noticed every artwork(outside concept) of Fleur she has obscured her left eye.Iris even has an “eyepatch talisman” thing goin on. Except for the spell card Blazing Swordsoul Awakening which reveals a maiden-like red eye. Her possible duties: - As Ashyan she tries to seal Ecclesia brand to prevent Albaz possibly fusing with her preemptively instead of him simply “Eating” the brand - She then travels to the Summit to investigate the state of icejades power, under the guise of sealing her stigmata. While here she lures Longyuan by promising power to overthrow the rest (perhaps Golganda serpent power, thus foreshadowing abyss dragon) - Intentionally doesnt kill the Golganda serpent and at the same time seals Albaz in his dragon form(never been made clear if hes actually stuck here) - Directs The pair towards the summit(confirmed) setting up their meeting w/ Aluber. - Travels back to Dogmatika w/ Adin and Theo to confront the fake Maximus possibly getting rid of them here.(they might be shown in the “opened land” tbf) - Faces off with her disciple in Branded Loss and easily incapacitate her instead of killing her - Stages her defeat as a performance to send Ecclesia into a vulnerable state and bring forth Cartessia I guess, her final task would be to eliminate Maximus/Alba/Petar.The question here is what exactly is the alliance between Quem and Aluber assuming Quem was allied with the church. While it was fun to come up with this, the sequencing between “Airborne Assualt/Tri brigade Faceoff”and “Branded loss/Branded Banishment”being hazy i think gives her enough alibi. So im unsure if even i buy her being heel this entire time.No matter how ballsy fun it would be.
This is, one of the best ways to describe the Cyberstorm Access cards, as me and a few others were worried due to most of the lore being missing, like how did the battle end. Thanks Nova, you did amazing and helped me feel safely satisfied with the ending.
I like your interpretation of the battle that could have took place. If only we had one or two more cards to help fill in the picture. Looking back at the lore of the albaz, I think the most confusing part has to deal with quim, fleur, and cartesia. There is so much confusion at this point because its hard to tell if they were fuse into a single body and if so, how the separation would have worked once Albaz fused with cartesia.
This was a perfect video to cap off a honestly incredible storyline. Thanks a million for being like, this community's only major lore mage Nova.... ...now if only he could start listing off the music he uses for his videos...
i watched all of the albaz lore in one go and i must say this lore could fit a jrpg, more precisely a breath of fire game. a dragon protagonist who meet an innocent blonde girl, they travel around the world and recruit beastmens to their side to defeat the evil dragon counterpart of the protagonist who use and corrupt the church for its own goal. And the protagonist have multiple dragon form at his disposal. This is a Breath of Fire story and you can't convince me otherwise.
God I’m so glad I watched these vids. These made me appreciate the lore and archetypes so so much more for how ehh I am on a lot of the Albaz lore decks playstyles. This was genuinely exciting to listen to.
Love this Lore man. You should segment the Lore sections of your various videos into a single continuous Albaz Story Video. It would be long, but better than dipping into various videos to get to the story.
God this whole story was awesome and your videos were great for going over ALL the cards and lore. Super thorough and well thought through. I love your corrections and review after new official source info drops. Fluer is what got me into Dogmatika and I really like the Iris Swordsoul card art as well, so it was AMAZING to learn it’s the same woman. REALLY hope she’s still around and kicking going forward. Maybe with a cool new look or form after she is recovered in the make of an extra deck boss monster?
The concept of an even badder bad guy killing the big bad at the end of one arc is a pretty standard JRPG trope I feel. I imagine Lululawilith is working for Aluber then, and just considered Zoa to no longer be useful
So with fallen of argyro it kinda looks like a combination of bystial lubelions armour and the containment device that kit used to trap the sprights. Just a thought Thanks for making such a wonderful series nova and I can't wait for what comes next (:
the most underutilised character in the entire saga is masquerade. aluber transforms into this form once when the despians first appear but we never see it in battle or even ever appear again. kinda pointless lol
7:04 (Taking notes for my Buster Blader / Branded Ideas) 22:03 learn of the Book of Revelation! 22:34 I would say "why not both?" and say Fleurdelis is now a jekyll and hyde deal or her own side, now againstboth good guys and bad guys 38:03 what song is playing at that moment?
28:03 It's possible that, as Incandescent Albion attacks Dis Pater, Fleur snaps loose instead of returning to her senses. In such a fury she could strike down Dis Pater without re-allying with Albaz and Despia's enemies just yet. The question is Quem does after Dis Pater's dispatchment.
I was kinda disappointed with this chapter at first. I’ve been following this story from the beginning and been consistently playing the deck since Albaz Strike, so I was kinda like “this is really how you’re going to end a multi-year storyline?” But the ending has grown on me quite a bit since we got our first looks at the cards. They’ve closed out the biggest immediate threat in Alba Zoa and have returned the world to a stable enough state that Konami can step back from it without it feeling like they just abandoned the plot. However, there’s still enough dangling threads with Aluber, Quem, and Ad Lib, along with potentially Fleur and Argyros, that Konami could absolutely continue things at a later date. In fact, I think the question isn’t if they keep it going, but when they are going to start it back up.
45:21 - 45:28 Way to get my hopes up for a Yugioh! lore Gurenge AMV, "Memories of love...memories of life" is kinda a big parallel (to Amalee's lyrics, anyways): "A meaningless conclusion calls So quietly, the curtain falls A broken scream upon the wind But none to hear the heartless sin The shadow of a laughing soul The sorrow of a heart wishing Only for love Only for light Only for life"
I legit thought it will ended with Aluber the goober being deadge but I was wrong, at least for now. The jester kiddo did lost but he somehow get what he wanted, at the very least, he gets something from all of those shenanigan, enough for him to not going home empty handed. Basically this is def not the end of the goober, god knows what he gonna do with his new toy.
Thought of a fun way Konami could show us in what order the card arts happen for the story. They release a reprint set with all the cards that are in the story and just put in the set order (You know that little thing on cards says what number it is in the set) what cards show up in what order. So if you have cards number from 1 to 100 and have it in that order it just becomes a flip book of sorts
For the rebellion it was a much deserved happy ending, but for another it was nothing more than a comedy. The mad jester aluber sits on the hi priest’s throne. Unbothered as if he’s done this all before. Perhaps this victory was nothing more than another play for him. And the next may be a tragedy
I have a feeling the next one would be based on Fallen of Argyros sacrificing himself. After all, Tragedy is the main protagonist rising, falling, and dying. We still need a Pendulum Archetype for this storyline, and I have a feeling that Ecclesia, Albaz and their child 'might' be the basis of that Archetype.
I have a different theory on Alba Zoa, rather than it being a plot by maximus against Aluber, rather it was a secret weapon that Aluber instrtucted maximus to create with his own body, being the ace in Aluber's sleeve, and they used the theater as an incubator for alba zoa
"Or until a new kind of Extra Deck monster drops" Unfortunately, considering that today's Duelist Nexus reveals basically confirmed that we're in for another 3-4 years of legacy support with no gameplay additions in sight, I'm starting to seriously suspect that that's never going to happen.
Interesting note I only JUST realized and I think might warrant consideration; Albion the Incandescent Dragon actually has Jewels on its wings that resemble the one on Cartesia's sword slightly; there are even blade-like shapes extending off of the jewels, hinting this connection might not just be me stretching the meaning of a couple jewels on a dragon. Though of course, that's not a guarantee of anything, it helps reinforce the idea that Cartesia's sword might've actually been part of the merger that produced this new form of Albion. The reason I think the sword itself was the fusion material and not Cartesia, (Despite her notably being a valid Light Spellcaster for the materials is Branded Light. It's too perfect that this spell which summons Fallen of Albaz, potentially allowing it to use its effect to fusion summon, is the moment Albion the Incandescent Dragon is made, and yet...It's effect simultaneously steals a monster, clearly meant to be Cartesia/Ecclesia, but Albaz's effect doesn't work on monsters you control. That means we know for certain Eclessia is not the other fusion material...But Branded Light activating Albaz's effect is too perfect and combined with the sword shapes, I think it's an idea worth considering. Also, I have a feeling this has some relevance to the above theory, but absolutely cannot prove it, but Granguignol the Dusk Dragon is the only other Albaz Lore monster I can think of that can be used as material for Incandescent. This is probably because Cartesia is a required fusion material for the Granguignol and is also on the artwork for the card, but it's weird that it specifically keeps her type-attribute combination, but is, notably, not a Tuner. Edit: Ooh, I just noticed that there are red Shards falling from the sky in the artwork of Branded Light, here's my current understanding of what my (sword=incandescent) theory means based on and interacting with this. The Sword and Jewel, I believe were likely broken by Rindbrumm's cannon, and in this scene, Albaz fuses them all together, along with the Icejade dagger to help bring out the power of the brand now hidden deep inside him. The energy of the Jewel, likely having been a medium for Ecclesia's Swordsoul-taught abilities, is then absorbed by Albaz (serving as the Light-Spellcaster) and forms Albion the Incandescent Dragon. Like this the battle winds down, whether by the defeat of an enemy or just warding each other off, but regardless, they each find something in the aftermath, the 317th Saint's soul for Albaz and crew and for Aluber...The repaired gem, now whole once more after separating from Albaz, but still containing the combined power of both Eclessia and the Brand. This is still speculation though, and until Konami gives us Albaz lore season 2, we won't have any additional context for this one.
Rhan is an interesting inclusion in PLUNDER PATROLL of all places. While it's not a 1-card Blackbeard like Goldielocks is, it is two extra material, and it can be another discard outlet.
By this point Konami needs to do an Albaz based anime
Years of lore and it's just the end of first season, it's so fitting like it just asking to be made Anime.
Their way too lazy to do that but it'd be cool

Also, the art of Swordsoul Blazing Awakening reads to me as though Luluwalilith's and Albion's attacks are cooperative, and until there's art of Luluwalilith fighting the Tri-Brigades/Springans/Albaz I don't think there's a good argument for her being revived by Quem for a different reason. As for what happens to her after the battle, yeah I have no clue. I assume she either dissipates or begin following Quem, acting as her knight.
As a Branded player, I respect the effort you put in the storyline. Subbed.
Love the tales of abyss osts really brought back memories of playing that game years ago. So thank you for taking a past love and combining it with a new love in the albaz storyline. This was an amazing final episode for the first season.
I'm just glad bucephalus is actually kinda playable now
Fallen of Argyos feels like Spright Sprind somehow combined with the corpse of The Bystial Lubellion at the end of the battle and became a new being.
It's actually combined with The Bystial Alba Los.
What an incredible journey. Such a good narrative, and all told through context clues. Great job interpreting everything! Can't wait for more
You know its kinda funny(sad?) that Fleur has fun background stories to point towards an Aluber alliance.
Her possible connections to Ad Libitum:
-Obviously the long white hair.
-Only 3 monsters posses the “ally boost for 500” and thats Fleur,Luluwalilith, and Ashyan.(pre-despia Libitum)
-Despite some cards depicting Despia/Dogmatika forces being present, neither Fleur or Ashyan/Ad have appeared at the same time.
Funny note: While confirming the above i noticed every artwork(outside concept) of Fleur she has obscured her left eye.Iris even has an “eyepatch talisman” thing goin on. Except for the spell card Blazing Swordsoul Awakening which reveals a maiden-like red eye.
Her possible duties:
- As Ashyan she tries to seal Ecclesia brand to prevent Albaz possibly fusing with her preemptively instead of him simply “Eating” the brand
- She then travels to the Summit to investigate the state of icejades power, under the guise of sealing her stigmata. While here she lures Longyuan by promising power to overthrow the rest (perhaps Golganda serpent power, thus foreshadowing abyss dragon)
- Intentionally doesnt kill the Golganda serpent and at the same time seals Albaz in his dragon form(never been made clear if hes actually stuck here)
- Directs The pair towards the summit(confirmed) setting up their meeting w/ Aluber.
- Travels back to Dogmatika w/ Adin and Theo to confront the fake Maximus possibly getting rid of them here.(they might be shown in the “opened land” tbf)
- Faces off with her disciple in Branded Loss and easily incapacitate her instead of killing her
- Stages her defeat as a performance to send Ecclesia into a vulnerable state and bring forth Cartessia
I guess, her final task would be to eliminate Maximus/Alba/Petar.The question here is what exactly is the alliance between Quem and Aluber assuming Quem was allied with the church.
Love watching these videos. Especially while I’m at the gym.
The artwork in these cards is so amazing. The new Albion, Dis Pater, Alba Zoa, Luluwalilith in particular from this batch
Thank you for these videos. I am so deeply invested
Just finished binging all the Albaz lore. Can’t wait to check out some of ur other videos
i watched all of the albaz lore in one go and i must say this lore could fit a jrpg, more precisely a breath of fire game.
a dragon protagonist who meet an innocent blonde girl, they travel around the world and recruit beastmens to their side
to defeat the evil dragon counterpart of the protagonist who use and corrupt the church for its own goal.
And the protagonist have multiple dragon form at his disposal.
This is a Breath of Fire story and you can't convince me otherwise.
MAAAAAAN
THIS NARRATION IS 🔥 🔥
You've done an amazing absolutely astonishing job, bro. Please keep it up.
God I’m so glad I watched these vids. These made me appreciate the lore and archetypes so so much more for how ehh I am on a lot of the Albaz lore decks playstyles. This was genuinely exciting to listen to.
I just reached the point when "Weight of Life" played. Thank you.
Man I gotta thank you so much for these vids. Really great to give this story the telling it deserves
You've outdone yourself again Nova! Absolute banger of a video no cap
And that tales of abyss ost got a tear outta me, keep doing what you do :D
Love this Lore man. You should segment the Lore sections of your various videos into a single continuous Albaz Story Video. It would be long, but better than dipping into various videos to get to the story.
I love that Aegerin literally turned Dragon of the Abyss into an ice cream dispenser. It's hilarious
Babe wake up new Golden Nova Albaz video just dropped
Just a thought
Thanks for making such a wonderful series nova and I can't wait for what comes next (:
the most underutilised character in the entire saga is masquerade. aluber transforms into this form once when the despians first appear but we never see it in battle or even ever appear again. kinda pointless lol
The song that plays when all the pokemon revive ash in the first Pokemon Movie was my equivalent for XC2 Tomorrow with You for this scene...
Anyone know what song is playing in the background of the explanation of luluwalilith?? I think it’s so good!!
If you mean at 13:00 that's x-matic from the BlazBlue games! Great ost
@@HeeroTroaTres thank you!!!
Thank you for making videos covering lore of those cards. Hoping you'll make more videos covering ygo storylines in the future!
7:04 (Taking notes for my Buster Blader / Branded Ideas)
22:03 learn of the Book of Revelation! 22:34 I would say "why not both?" and say Fleurdelis is now a jekyll and hyde deal or her own side, now againstboth good guys and bad guys
38:03 what song is playing at that moment?
That would be "The Tomorrow With You" from Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
Really high quality video. I love all the song choices too.
The use of Xenoblade 3 music during the telling of this conclusion to the opening act was a great decision.
Man i was like... nice new GoldenNova Albaz lore! "Game plan: Make a 51-min lore speculation video" wow thats a lot... wait THIS IS 50 MIN LONG??
Thank you so much for these videos!
Xenoblade music goes so well with the albaz story
You can tell the Eye is different because of how it looks here vs on Incredible Ecclesia's artwork.
thank you for the 11 episode !!
I feel like Luluwalilith's sword is supposed to be a sword/spear hybrid that can be used as needed.
36:17 okay the Xenoblade Chronicles Music definitely suits this section well
Hot take. Quem and Aluber had their own story similar to Albaz and Ecclesia.
45:21 - 45:28 Way to get my hopes up for a Yugioh! lore Gurenge AMV, "Memories of love...memories of life" is kinda a big parallel (to Amalee's lyrics, anyways):
"A meaningless conclusion calls
So quietly, the curtain falls
A broken scream upon the wind
But none to hear the heartless sin
The shadow of a laughing soul
The sorrow of a heart wishing
Only for love
Only for light
Only for life"
I legit thought it will ended with Aluber the goober being deadge but I was wrong, at least for now.
The jester kiddo did lost but he somehow get what he wanted, at the very least, he gets something from all of those shenanigan, enough for him to not going home empty handed. Basically this is def not the end of the goober, god knows what he gonna do with his new toy.
5:51 Nova now joins MBT in the League of Yugitubers Who've Read Homestuck
Also, I'm so glad that now that Halq is banned they can experiment with Tuner cards like the Icejade one
I need to know what is beyond the hole
Missed opportunity to call it grand theft draco
The Spyro music in the background is a solid choice
im looking forward for the albaz story to come to master duel
Oh I hope these cards eventually come to Master Duel!
THANK YOU FOR THE SPYRO MENU MUSIC
my GOD, why is this not an anime, or an RPG video game, i'd watch/play that in a heart beat
Excellent story telling thank you.
26:44 Is it only me or Luluwalilith is actually looking up Dis Pater? The eyes has a "darker red zone" that seem to be looking up the above
This arc needs to get live action love man
Absolutely PEAK use of Meaning of Birth
I have a different theory on Alba Zoa, rather than it being a plot by maximus against Aluber, rather it was a secret weapon that Aluber instrtucted maximus to create with his own body, being the ace in Aluber's sleeve, and they used the theater as an incubator for alba zoa
"Or until a new kind of Extra Deck monster drops"
Unfortunately, considering that today's Duelist Nexus reveals basically confirmed that we're in for another 3-4 years of legacy support with no gameplay additions in sight, I'm starting to seriously suspect that that's never going to happen.
amazing work
Welcome to another rendition of we either have complete garbage or game breaking tri brigade spell/traps
This is still speculation though, and until Konami gives us Albaz lore season 2, we won't have any additional context for this one.
love the Tales of abyss BGM used
The lore is what made me play this deck at high rarity lol
We need a compilation with the Lore half of this videos as someone else suggested
Rhan is an interesting inclusion in PLUNDER PATROLL of all places. While it's not a 1-card Blackbeard like Goldielocks is, it is two extra material, and it can be another discard outlet.
Damn, Nova out here with the based Blazblue bgm
