It will take some time. The old LA mass transit rail system was once the most expansive in the US -- even bigger than New York's. It's a shame they dismantled it.
At least some additional sections coulve been built as an elevated train or subway. Some of the traffic lights are unneccesary. Light rail is great for a mid size city but a city like LA needs a more grade separated metro system
I agree with some of the other posters that the train stops too much for lights , cross traffic, pedestrians, etc. Would it be so difficult to prioritize the train in regards to traffic lights. Just a simple matter of programming existing software in the route system I would think. It has to get better than this in order to be effective and efficent. Get on the ball Metro, or is this just millions and millions down the drain?
I love trains and would like to see LA's metro rail system come back, but we have a long way to go. The Expo Line just isn't convenient and there is no reason why I would take it. It stops in mostly indistinct places with industrial areas and neighborhood homes. But not much in the way of major retail or office-business areas. Phase 2 seems like it will hit better places though, going almost all the way to the sea.
A p865 cab view on OG expo line!
Excuse TWO comments in a short period, but this line share tracks with the Blue Line through the Blue Line Subway?
Wow!! Excellent video!

Thank goodness rail and light rail has made a massive comeback around the world - despite the lobbying of the motor industry.
Hooray! Los Angelse has gotten "Transit Fever!" (Again)
I think they should've put another set of signals across the street on the other side of the crossings for reassurance.
