Thanks! I recommend lifting the skate pads slightly so the screw hole is uncovered. This way, half of the glue on the skate pad will remain. Then, if you lift the cover, you will already have access to the mouse wheel axis attached to the bottom of the mouse. Just slightly lubricate those parts and scroll the wheel to test if the squeaking is gone.
perfect! bought a decent one from amazon for like 20$. I have the 2021 Model O WIRED version. For anyone else that has this just know there isn't a screw at the back when you open the mouse. There are two silver screws at the front on the sides as shown in the video but the ribbon that you remove next to the scroll wheel is there IS a small black screw there. Easily removable. BE GENTLE when opening the mouse because the wired version has the wire at the front but it wraps around the side of the pcb to the back right so it's easy to tear if you're not careful. Don't be scared its super easy just be gentle. Took me like 2 minutes and I didn't put much lube either, in total probably the size of the small black screw. His steps still apply to the wired version, NO MORE SQUEAKY SCROLL WHEEL fkn finally lol thanks for this quick guide.
Hey man, just wanted to say that the video is great! Even to the point that Glorious' customer support was the one who provided me this video for help! Keep up the great work :-)
So they basically told you to buy expensive lube and fix it yourself? Real customer service right there lmao... they could atleast have sent you some G-Lube for free smh
@@The_Rock_That_Floats They gave me an option to either fix it myself and get free 20% back on my purchase or $30 online credit or send it back for another one. I chose the former; really weird for you to assume this stuff with no information whatsoever. Also I told them I already have Krytox205g0.
Worked perfectly, thank you! Glorious directed me here and sent me new skates and lube to fix it myself. Thanks again! I'm happy I didn't have to send it in.
Thank you for this. I just happened to have some Krytox 205g0 around and was finally able to get rid of the squeaking issue that seems to plague these mice. Now both my Model O wired & wireless mouse are silent again! Contacted Glorious support and they are sending me replacement g-floats and grip tape! what a great way to treat a customer.
I had a squeeky wheel and left/right click. followed this as well and a little lube on the left/right click switches (similar to the green middle scroll wheel) and it works nice and quiet now thank you! Fun fact, when i reached out to glorious support, they sent me a link to this video!
I'll save you the effort of opening it then potentially breaking it. get a very thin wire or thin twist tie, put a very small amount of keyboard lube on the tip, insert it on the side of mouse wheel. Apply it to the bar/cylinder holding the scroll wheel on both ends. While applying it, you should be scrolling the wheel so the lube spreads. repeat process if there's still a squeak. Got mine working in just few tries.
Lifesaver! Thank you for this guide. Super helpful in fixing my mouse wheel squeak. Careful prying of the adhesive under the feet will result in them staying flat for anyone who is trying to do this.
Great video - Followed it and no more squeaks. I ordered the G-lube and skates, however in the end I didn't have to replace the skates at all. I just used the thinnest flat head screwdriver bit that I had and it came off flat. Alternative is to use a hairdryer to warm up those skates and they should come right off as the glue warms up.
Thank you sir, I dont know if it is in here, but if you would like to have a better chance at saving the Mouse Skates, you can apply some heat with a heat gun before pulling them off, that helped me not bend mine. also put some heat on when i put the skates back on to make sure the adhesive bonded well again.
Great guide, however I'd avoid lubing the actual keyswitch directly. If lubricant winds up eventually reaching the metal contact that activates the switch it could make it stop working or be inconsistent at the least. The source of the squeak can also come from the LED that is mounted under the scroll wheel rubbing up against the inner wall of the wheel. You could put a dot of lube on its edge and it might be okay. Going to try all of this when I get home, I got a Model O for Christmas and the squeak is already killing me.
I have an almost Identical Mouse to this "unbranded Copy, but as near as damn it! Lights up Flashes Light Trails around the sides, about Eight Different Modes!" Problem with Mouse Wheel may have to order another Wheel but now I know who to Order from! "Thankyou"
Thank you thank you! My mouse was clicking and squeaking so loud. But, I did it a little different I did NOT take the skates all the way off, I just lifted until I found the screws. Cleaned the inside carefully with alcohol. And had no special oils so I took the wheel out cleaned everything and used Sally Hanson Vitamin E Nail & Cuticle Oil, lol ! The clicking and squeaking are gone!
I used dielectric grease and an interdental brush to reach the mounting points of the mouse wheel in an completely assembled state and that also stopped the squeaking. But still great video and thanks for finding a fix for this annoying issue.
i legit just bought a compressed air can that you use to clean a pc, and i directly sprayed the mouse wheel without having to open it and it fixed my issues, my mouse is a SteelSeries Sensei Ten
I just fixed mine but is simpler than that. I've opened the mouse and just applied some lube with a pencil brush on the wheel supports while scrolling it a bit to spread the lube. No need to remove internal screws, lube the switch or disassembly the wheel. Do just that and the squeak noise disappears.
First MOW had a squeaky right click, RMA'd it and now the replacement has a squeaky scroll wheel :@ Ordered some lube to give this a shot. Ty for the guide. Edit: Lube came in, followed the video, fixed it perfectly. thanks :)
I just had my Glorious model D scroll wheel squeaking, I just found out that the rgb light that goes inside the scroll wheel, touching the inside wall of the scroll wheel itself, just adjust the single rgb light pcb slightly to the right while screwing, no need to lube. But if you wanted it to be much smoother, lube will be alright
thank you so much for this video, i was able to repair my squeaky wheel no problem and I'm getting new skates sent to me by Glorious. fantastic tutorial!
I can't say for sure from the video but lubing it also makes it spin more smoothly right? Does it retain the same feel and tactility as before? I hate smooth scroll wheels and that is something I liked in this Model O mouse.. but it squeaks literally on the 3rd day after getting it - that's bad QC.
How does this effect the tactility of the scroll? Obviously any amount of lube will probably reduce that, but I like the strong detents of the wheel. I don't know how mouse wheel provide tactility during scrolling, but from what I can tell it's probably the part with the green tunnel that you say to lube, so I'm hoping there's little to no reduction in the detents.
I got this mouse like maybe a 2 weeks ago and its driving me insane. Do they not lube there switches and scroll wheels? I'm thinking about sending it back for a replacement.
I literally was scared only about ruining thw mouse feets but they are rigid thats fantastic money well spent in my opinion you dont need to take the wheel out u can do it with spray tubes wth the spray line to enter in specific places so ye dont ruin ur mouse
I had the same issue, reached out to Glorious to see what they could do and they sent me a brand new mouse, I didn't ask for it. I didn't have to send the squeeky one back. Bought some lube, followed this video and now I have two mice.

I never noticed a loss in tactility. Obviously if you use a ton of lube you might, but with how much I used, wasn't noticeable.
