I miss Shelby. She could thump that bass and this era was the Della's best time. The new gal is okay but too mousy and cannot thump that doghouse like Shelby
Shelby Means has resurfaced in 2017 with her new boyfriend, Joel Timmons forming the group *Sally & George* You tube search *Sally & George*
Too mousy? Yeah, who gives a shit that she's an accomplished and talented musician as well as being sweet as can be. Let's focus on her looks. Since that's all you care about, if you actually paid attention you'd find out she's a lovely young woman as well. But feel free to be you and leave the enjoyment of Della Mae to the rest of us who aren't assholes.
Sir Eugene, if you get a chance to see them live I highly recommend it! I went to NYC in March to see both Celia and Sally & George. Phenomenal show!
That was while Celia Woodsmith was on hiatus from Della Mae. I have been following Della Mae for many years and for the life of me can't figure out why Shelby Means would leave a world renowned group like Della Mae just when it was getting interesting. The group must treat their upright bass players like temp workers what with Amanda Kowalski, Shelby Means and now Zoe Guigueno. P.S. Zoe Guiguero is good looking without those 1950's office glass frames. There is a video on you tube where she doesn't wear glasses to reinforce my compliment.
Yes I know about the hiatus. I saw three out of the five of them last time I was in the States on vacation. I'll be seeing the entire group Sept 17th in Flagstaff AZ.
I think Zoe's gorgeous with or without the glasses. She just has her own look and rocks it regardless of what anyone thinks. I've seen videos and in person with and without. But what REALLY matters is the musical talent. Zoe has it in spades, along with passion and personality, which is why she fits in so well.
I don't know about treating the bass players like temp workers. From what I heard Amanda left the group because she didn't want to tour so heavily and wanted to focus on photography. As for Shelby, while I don't know for certain, I gather she wanted to pursue making music with Joel ("George" of Sally & George). Check out their new release, Tip My Heart. Beautiful music by two people obviously in love. And as I mentioned, if you get a chance to see them live, do so. You can thank me later. :p
