Sorry dear viewer's. I explained Plague bells to him... They were, as the title suggests, used as a warning system during the plague. And GW loves to work some history into their mini's. Which is why Skaven have them as well. And this is why we love GW mini's... Despite their ridiculous cost.
The down side of taking Thursday night off is I do not get to watch your show till later. But so worth the wait, love the paint scheme. Keep up the great work 😄
Hmmm. Lore questions about Papa Nurgle huh? Looks at user name. Yes. Alright. The shield is a fly BTW. Those were wings, not wood. I picked Nurgle all those years ago after reading The Lost and The Damned. You see, in the Grim Dark, Papa Nurgle knows his ultimate fate and that knowledge is a power. And that makes Papa Nurgle a happy chum. It's why he covets and cavorts with his Nurglings. Like a sick ol' grandpa, happy for every extra day with the grandkids. He knows that at the end of all things, when all has rotted or rusted away, even all the other creatures of the Warp are gone, then he too will rot to nothing. All the while smiling and humming a little tune.
Your story about the neighbors & their Nergle house gave me a flashback. Probably 35 years ago. My brother's roommate went to help their downstairs neighbors move out & he came back white as a sheet. This dude was a big biker. Looked like a young, buff version of Andrew Dice Clay, but he was in bad shape. Apparently the apartment was a nightmare. The two things I'll always remember him talking about was the sandwich that had grown onto the fireplace mantle and the cat turd that had eaten a hole in the top of their TV. Gah. Haven't thought about that in years. Thanks.
I haven't painted a fig in 20 years. But man, I do miss painting monsters. I bought a lot of chaos beasties just to have fun painting them. I was never very GW exclusive, even when I was playing Warhammer. My core army was a barbarian one, with mostly house rules. I did a lot of Skaven, too. But I didn't like how that army started going so heavy on specialty pieces. Part of what made Skaven Skaven in my mind was the overwhelming numbers, not giant bells and cannons or whatever. But I loved Slaanesh & Tzeentch for the great (and disgusting) critters. Nurgle was also fun. Khorn I found generally boring, but there were occasional kickass figs for him, too.
I just ordered a couple sprues of skaven lol and I too thought khorne was kinda boring (the concept was all right just the minis were always kinda meh design-wise - for me, aesthetically-speaking lol)
Ok it's 4:30am and I am supposed to be getting my prep going for my Saturday morning air shift. I love how my work has me working on the weekend. But hey. I love my work. I have not played any War Hammer since 1993. Yep I still remember my last game. It was one of the few where I won. I was not very good at it. I loved that figure. You just gotta love the Nurgle. I know a few that do. I am not the first person in line when it comes to picking out the grosser kind of figures, but I would not mind giving that one a try. Over the last few weeks I have been repainting some 1/64th scale figures for a Slot Car Layout. I do love the way you used many of the colors to get the effects and the highlights you wanted. I have a habit of naming my figures when they are finished. I am wondering if you do the same. I know more then a few figure painters that name the figures they painted. I am not sure if that is normal or not. Ok Back to work. I hope your movie endeavors are working well.
I hear ya on the gross factor lol, I’m right there too. I don’t typically name the figures I paint, rather I think up a character and then choose a mini that becomes that character - similar but different I suppose. But sometimes I see a mini and the mini inspires a character or story so I guess I do both lol. Hey, your weekend is just on different days than everyone else, it’s cool to be different! lol 🤙🏴☠️🍻
Nicely done. I enjoyed the video and learned some more painting techniques. I am clueless on color theory, and I was amazed at how you developed the skin. The final effect is amazing. And yes, the mushrooms are really cool
Just coming back from a Phil Tippet-career retrospective talk with the master himself and a screening of Mad God only to find a new video up and ready to enjoy with my midnight kebab, perfect timing :)
@@tabletopalchemy Hehehe, always gotta end on a high note ;) Tippet really has had an amazing career, and it’s still going as the studio is working on a «follow up»(same universe) to Mad God - Too bad we had to decline to join the crew for beers, leaving early tomorrow for a 24 hour photo marathon in stockholm this weekend - just wondering when I’ll be able to do some actual work .. gonna have to do it on the bus tomorrow I guess
I've always been a huge fan of the filth and decay of Nurgle, definitely my favourite GW faction. Love the paintjob, your colour scheme is a welcome change from the usual puke green and you nailed it. Are we going to see you exploring more of the grimdark style? By the way... big love to my fellow vegan gamers!
Ah well, the games are fun (possibly due to their rarity lol) but probably not because of me. Who knows, my entire family keeps bugging me to move lol🏴☠️
You did good! He looks great...in a drunk, nasty sort of way. I'm not a painter ... so question ... did you use the same brush for everything, because it looks like it. You mentioned it was a DiVinci brush? Do your paints clean up with water? Fun Video...really. How is the movie doing? Best wishes. Have a good evening.
I primarily used that Davinci brush but I used a couple other brushes as well where precision wasn’t necessary. Yes I use almost exclusively water-based acrylic paints. I’m glad you like it! 🤙🍻
So I see that the topic of today's video is Warhammer. Is this one of those ''If I get rich I won't tell anyone but there will be signs'' kind of a thing? That being said I really like your gross little, grandpa Nurgle's, demon spawn 😁
Yeah, but since I dislike getting the oil wash stuff out all the time I kinda wait til I can batch a bunch of minis at the same time, which should be coming up 🤙
What a cutie! Can't wait to see him in action!!
😂🤙🍻

This is true lol - as per usual I did my “research” after the fact. ‘Cause I’m good!! 😐🤬
@@tabletopalchemy bring out your dead. Brrrrring out your dead...
Badass Nurgle, brotha! Can’t wait to see what he gets into on our next scenario! 🤩
🤙🏴☠️⚔️💀

Well that’s great to hear regardless lol - can’t complain about days off right?! 🤙🍻
I gotta admit, the mushrooms really tie the whole thing together
just like The Dude’s rug lol🤙🍻
Far out man

Ah very cool lol! Dang I see the fly now 😎🍻

Looks really good, you sell yourself short on your painting skills!
Well thanks, that’s much appreciated! 🍻

What a mess - it's perfect Nurgle, love it.

@@tabletopalchemy That is very true. My weekend is Monday and Tuesday
Amazing.
Nice table 👍 If only you had someone to paint up those buildings...
I do! That someone is “me” - and he’s a slacker!😂🍻
Dude, this turned out awesome! I am definitely stealing a few of these color combos for my Death Guard army!
Awesome, thanks! Very cool🤙🍻
I am glad you finally got to play. Rangers of Shadow Deep has become my favorite game. I look forward to seeing more games
I was surprised how much fun it was to “run” a game too!
Are you going to start playing Mordheim ? Perfect opportunity to make cool terrain for a skirmish game. Might be a cool series for solo play videos!
While I’ve heard plenty about Mordheim I’ve never read the rules. But it’s on my list lol. 🏴☠️⚔️🍻

Right on thanks! Yes I do like the grimdark style and I’ve plenty of minis in the Pile of Opportunity that will be perfect for that. 🍻🏴☠️
I wish I lived on the west Coast just to play a game at your table. I bet they rock! But alas I am on the east coast.😢

I never thought my golf game strategy also applies to my painting. Buy more expensive stuff!
Lol - it’s *the* strategy! 😂🍻
This applies to everything... EVERYTHING.
So you Googled maggot's, but not Buboes?? lol
I did! That’s why I *corrrrected* myself 😑💀
Wait, you can buy too many paints? No, say it ain't so.
Did I say one could buy too many paints?! I take it back, obviously that’s *false *! 😂🍻

Did you consider some streak and grim or an oily wash for the modesty cloth?
Yeah, but since I dislike getting the oil wash stuff out all the time I kinda wait til I can batch a bunch of minis at the same time, which should be coming up 🤙
Sorry. Couldnt keep listening.
