- Tekken 8 Jin Kazama New Gameplay Overview - Great Improvement especially his personality. He is using more of Mishima moves & complete control over Devil Jin power.
I love how Kazuya inherited Heihachi's (Cruel Mishima) moveset while Jin uses Jinpachi's (Benevolent Mishima) moveset.
Actually kazuya (old) moveset was very similar to TTT2 Jinpachi , as tekken 5 showed that Kazuya actually trained with jinpachi
And TK3 Jin /Devil Jin resembles Heihachi which he obviously was trained by during tekken 3
“Benevolent”
Anything is more chill than Kazuya
In lore Jinpachi was actually a pretty nice dude
@@taylorbee4010 Jinpachi unironically was a good guy. Mishima zaibatsu was a proper company under him which changed once Hei took over and turned it into a syndicate
heiachi was always the cruel greedy bastard. then kaz follow'd his dad footsteps. but kinda mellow'd out a bit on the evil.
jin was just anti hero all along. as it should be. he was the new hero n face since tekken 3.
taking more from jinapachi and his mother. then those other two mishimas.
also i hope akuma comes back to collect on dat mishima azz. for kasumi honor!! 😆😁
It’s amazing how Jin’s story can be told through his moveset evolution.
When the moveset tell story much better than the tekken 7 storymode 💀💀💀
Is it really hard when the story is literally "Guy bad. Guy have wing form. Guy use wing form in normal form. Guy no bad now."
@@durrclips746 I think it goes deeper than that, considering the drastic moveset change from T3 to T4 after Heihachi betrayed him, and how Devil Jin became a character of its own, and now this... I haven't seen many fighting game characters get the same treatment.
@@AYOthisiswild01 I wouldn't say that's a bad thing
@@AYOthisiswild01 Give story mode a break it was pretty enjoyable to play except sennar…
I like that he uses moves from Lars and Jinpachi. It feels like Jin's starting to see and honoring the good in the Mishima bloodline. Maybe it'll help him become less self-hating.
It's what I was really hoping for his character in this entry.
I wanna see how he interacts with Lee and Lars now! Really hope they get decent screen presence to put this positive family dynamic on display.
This would be a good path for his character development. Like you said, it'll help him see that the Mishima bloodline and the powers and skills he gained from it aren't as bad or as evil as he believed they were, just misused for the wrong things. Jinpachi and Lars are prime examples of that.
This is crucial because Jin is a perfect hybrid of Mishima karate and the Wind God's powers, of Kazama-style and Kyokushin Karate, and the Devil Gene from the Hachijos. He (and obviously his new teammates) must understand that just simply apprehending or killing Kazuya won't solve the problem; they need to be fundamentally and morally better than the latter.
@@y.matocinos8448 I agree with you, but feel that other than somehow managing to purify Kazuya of his Devil gene, he won't settle for less than another death match.
It'll be Jin's redemption to put Kazuya down, but not take the seat as head of Zaibatsu again.
That'll probably go to Lars with him and Lee merging Violet Systems, the remnants of GCorp and the Zaibatsu as one world wide mega corp.
Hopefully in the aftermath of the finale these semi-Mishima Brothers can do some good for the masses in place of their crazy ass family.
Should he live through the fight, Jin can go live in exile on the island he grew up with his mother and take Xiao-yu with him.
Maybe Asuka and Hworang too for more familiar company in his frienemy and a distant cousin???
because of this comment i search who Jinpachi is and omg i had the realization that Jinpachi and heirachi wasnt the same person
@@irysfan2360 🤣 yea that's great gran-pappy
Jin: Strength isn’t everything.
Dom: I know… family is.
Dom is trash. Family is full of s***!
Dad + Mom = Dom
@@pulkitriat3301 Dom sucks
Jin is slowly becoming Dominic torretto
I love how Jin took some of Lars and Jinpachi's moves. iirc they are both supporters of Jin. (Lars having a quote "You can do it, Kazama Jin" on Tekken 8, and reading somewhere that Jinpachi only cared about Jin)
I don't think Jinpachi canonically felt anything about Jin considering they only met once at the end of Tekken 5. By that point Jinpachi was fully possessed by the Honmaru demon with maybe a sliver of his old humanity left.
Don't remember how they interact in TT2, but at that point Jin's character pulled a 180° and was closer to Heihachi and Kazuya
Do think it's reasonable that up until T6, Jinpachi could have been Jin's greatest supporter after his mother, since they were both honorable members of the Mishima
@@RevulsiveLooper I looked up Jinpachi's wiki and it was Kazuya that he showed compassion to, not Jin.
@@animuszero1311 I remember that being hinted at in Kaz's T5 ending
Jinpachi never met jin, besides when he was possessed there was zero time to bond. By the time jin was even taken in by heihachi to train jinpachi had been buried under honmaru.
He didn’t take ANYTHING from Lars or Jinpachi !!!!
So Jin is officially "One winged-devil" now
Meaning he accept his Devil-Gene as half of him (and even absorb halves of DJ and Mishima moveset)
Jin still Proves why he is the most powerful character in tekken. Can combine Mishima and Kazama Fighting styles simultaneously. Amd has mastery over his Devil Gene.
He mastered traditional karate too, some people give him "wow he's the generic op mc" which is flat out wrong and annoying.
@@CodenameLavender He is not a Flat character
@@CodenameLavender yeah the debut of Jin’s traditional Karate Destroyed everybody on Tekken 4
Jin finally owning up to his mistakes in the past games (bringing war and chaos to the world and unleashing Azazel) and getting control or a measure of it to harness his Devil Gene powers - much like his father Kazuya in Tekken 4, and then combining the moves of his relatives and even incorporating the Omen Stance from the Tag games.
Character development for our boy, and loving that we’re all seeing that for the story in Tekken 8.
I love the Rock Howard Angel Wings comparison. Nice touch.
Ragna the Bloodedge anyone? If I recall correctly it’s also one of his win animations.
Jun has finally taught Jin that power or strength isn't everything.
just the fact that Jin's plan *fails* to accomplish what he wants and just senselessly murdering others should be lesson enough.
Jin here is really noisy, unlike in the previous series where he was quiet. But here I see his friendly nature back where he is no longer obsessed with power.
T3 jin was noisy too. I miss his "oraa!" voice
@@alviedoyuda4354 but not so noisy like this. T3 Jin is more passionate
Jin's new move sets and his current move sets shows how much Jin Kazama has developed and evolved over the years. Median Line Destruction (1+2) is a perfect example how the move changed from Tekken 5 to Tekken 8. Another subtle details is Jin Kazama is his return to his heroic form, redemption arc and growth like Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat, Ryu in Street Fighter, Kasumi in DOA, Rock Howard in Garou: Mark of the Wolves, Kyo Kusanagi in KOF and Siegfried in Soul Calibur oppose to his father Kazuya Mishima who has completely embraced his heel run like Roman Reigns and Heihachi Mishima.
I’m more of a fan of Tekken 3-4 versions of Jin Kazama, and I’ll be looking forward to seeing more of him in Tekken 8.
The Father/Son Dynamic and Fight that's gonna happen in this game will be Epic
1:12 this move with that voice looks great 💥❤️⚡
Black & White color is also imaging color of Jun Kazama.
So I think it showing Jin comes to Kazama's spirits.
Loving the new Jin, I always hated how they made him into a power hungry person to the point where you couldn’t tell if it was him or the devil inside speaking through him
agreed!
My guess is maybe because of the influence of his mother in this T8, so Jin is not power hungry anymore
He’s not power hungry he was basically an extremist war wasn’t what he wanted but what he felt was needed to bring out Azreal whom he thought was his solution to the devil gene
It's just that in reality, Jin in Tekken 6 was basically Eren Yaeger
That's called character development
(0:48)
I love how you made sure to feature the original Tekken 5 version of that move to show just how much it's evolved over time.
0:09 that's some character development right here 👏🏻 can't wait to play as my 2nd main , new moves- animations + new mechanics of the game would make it a whole different experience 4sure
His new outfit also reminds me of Kyo’s Maximum Impact costume
I noticed his quote immediately. I'd love to see some character development for him.
To see Jin’s development from 3 genuinely makes me smile, he’s one of the best developed fighting game characters in history
Jin is pulling power from multiple fighting games character. OP.
This Jin is definitely gonna be the craziest version we'll see
Jin kazama character Redemption arc lets goo
if the T4 laser scrapper comes back like back in the days.. Jin is gotta be 1st place on the Tier-list once again
"Power alone isn't everything" so he's not let go of his need for power; he just toned it down. 😂
A pretty reasonable stance tbh
"Power is not the same as strength" Wang Jinrei.
Kind of sad that this marks the end of devil jin as a solo entity. Still sick that jin is the best of both worlds now.
Imagine it won't be
Nah DvJ is too popular to go. He 99% will be there
@@tabkg5802 I'm going to take a guess and say he might be in as dlc, along with Hei. But if that does not happen, maybe Angel. I really do hope both Kazuya gets that final Tekken 7 Devil form as an alternate.
@@momop788 I'm just going by what @TAB Kg said, really.
These people dont like using common sense.
Kazuya and Devil merged into one character. Devil is no longer a character.
Jin and Devil Jin have merged into one character. What does common sense tell you people?
If Jin and Devil Jin are now one character, that would be perfect.
It would make plot wise sense if Jin can now control the devil gene. Also, Jin deserve a transformation like Kazuya.
Not sure about Jin getting a manual transformation, like Kazuya, well, we somehow got that in Tag 2, if your team is Jin and Devil Jin. He still somewhat opposes the devil gene. Notice that in the story, he always only uses a portion of it, also considering in the first trailer, he crushed a black feather. While Kazuya goes full-on devil, since he embraced the devil.
From what I see, Kazuya will have a "Power up transformation" into the Devil, while Jin would only use the Devil's power to execute some moves (mostly Devil Jin's moves and some Mishima style) that he can't usually (sticking to the Kazama style without the Devil transformation).
Bad news, possibility Devil Jin will be separate Character
Good job jin power upgrade
Stellar videos as always man. 🔥 Been enjoying your Tekken 8 content!
At last because of Jin's win pose inspires of Rock Howard and Sephiroth
Jin's growth is amazing
1:23 well they both have terrible dads
It's kind of an unwritten rule that all lead protagonist fighters must have terrible or missing dads.
@@DobieMeltfire In Ryu's case, it's a terrible adopted Uncle with Akuma.
We All know that Jin with mishima fighting style was deadly
IMO tekken 8 Jin is the best he’s ever looked
I definitely noticed the KOF styles that Tekken 8 has been adopting.
I love KOF, and would love it if the Tekken team made a KOF game. But I don't want a Tekken game that's trying to be KOF
I strongly agree
damn true!
I feel like Jin is going to use this knowledge to defeat his father once and for all
I admit, I got goosebumps upon seeing his laser scrapper made its return. I know a lot of players hated it T4 cuz it made Jin broken for many, but I've always considered it his signature move, so I'm most glad it's back.
I vaguely remember that specific move being called along the lines of "Laser Annihilator", but I could be misremembering.
LASER SCRAPPER!!!
Nice to see he has back his colors from t4 and similar to Jun.cant wait to see him fuck up his pops like he did in tekken 4🔥
Jin finally realized power isn’t everything especially since there are things even greater than that. Since he forgot what his mother Jun taught him that there is more to life like fighting to protect others and those that care about you is true strength.
What jun taught him is trash. Protecting others is a huge waste of time. No one cares about anyone. This is a mockery of a true strength
@@Angeljin-Fq5yx Depends on some people who don't care like Heihachi. Besides "A person who relies solely on power will eventually be defeated by power." and they get beaten by those who fight for what's right too.
@@ricardomarquez7730 depends on some people you are right. But you are missing the main point. People who care too much like jun have a major fatal flaw which is called " people who care about others too much eventually lose sight of themselves and get destroyed". They also get beaten by people who care less and are a bit selfish. Since they focus on themselves and are not wasting Thier precious time on people who are useless
@@Angeljin-Fq5yx True and sometimes it depends on the person and situations. Heck even though Kazumi loved Heihachi she had to kill him to prevent the dark future from happening since Heihachi started it all by betraying his own father Jinpachi and then Kazumi had to stop him before he could do worse which failed hence why Akuma stepped in.
@@ricardomarquez7730 Now you're talking my language. You're right. Care for people can be dangerous if not know how to cope with these type of feelings
He's done letting his inner conflict hinder his growth. He's accepting his Mishima blood while not embracing it, and using his Devil Gene for what he believes to be the right thing. Cool stuff, I like it.
Aside from beautiful evolution of his move set, it also sounds like he has new battle cries at point, specifically his yell at 1:12.
May be very minor, but it’s an audio detail I absolutely love just as much as everything else that’s being implemented.
I didn’t know they implemented Omen Stance like that, though I’d assume they’d make it a one time stance instead of completely changing his moveset, like his mist step
Personally, I think it clearly shows that with his decorated and combined movesets that were showcased in T8 he has finally able to accept himself as a person once again ever since T3
I love how he's got devil moves but i hope Devil jin doesnt get shafted. Would be sick to see DJ as an opposite of jin moveset wise, with mainly devil moves and some regular jin moves on the side.
Maybe if they dont get DJ onto the game, it can be replaced by Angel, since also Jun is coming back to the game Angel would be a great add
I'm doubtful of angel, dvj would be more likely than her but if he doesn't make it, they could make full devil kazuya playable, he'd need to be toned down of course 😂
I don't mind angel at all but she was a dlc for tag 2, and that also wasn't a canon game, so idk.
dude idk but there's high chance they deleted djin
Maybe they will add DVJ from Blood Vengence the movie
@@CodenameLavender she was in tekken 2 too
@Hi! Buff Gigas Please? i wonder if he has so many devil jin moves if devil jin will be a separate character in this one, at this point i doubt it since Jin's going for the whole one winged angel Sephiroth deal now.
Maybe full devil kazuya will be playable
@@CodenameLavender we can only hope it's been since Tekken Tag 1 since he was fully playable
Your video is the best comparison and growing up playing all fighting games recognizing moves from other chars & games you sir know your stuff 💪🏾💪🏾
I've seen way too many people say Jin's new high crush move is from Dragonuv (d2) or Devil Jin (db2). It's literally Lars SEN 2 from Neutral (which I'm kinda jealous about Jin having since he gets it from neutral instead of a worthless stance transition), and if this move still retains the old properties from T7, then it would +6 on hit, and -12 on block. I feel Jin needs it though, because he doesn't really have any good high crush options outside of d4. Anyways, Jin finally looks fun, and not plain and simple like he was in recent Tekken games. Looking forward to seeing more.
Yea seeing glimpses of Lars in Jin's moveset here makes me tentatively hopeful for his reveal trailer.
That SEN 2 and the Ark Blast(or whatever it's called in Jinpachi's movelost)caught my attention.
Really need them to just not screw Lars over in this game like they did in 7. His new design looks too good for him to be barely mid 3/4ths of the game's life cycle 😂
@@RevulsiveLooper With Screw Combo's being removed...I'm really hoping df2,1 is removed from his movelist, and he can get his df2 back. Lars needs that move.
@@HoDoBoDo abso-fuckin-lutely
It will be weird if Jin saved Heihachi from fall to Lava during last scene using his Devil form.
The massive red lightning beam during his heat smash comes from the bloodline anime.
We also see Leroy's face in the "Smith Coffee" shops in the background.
I hope the face is a bit more than the statue, indicating that Leroy's character design will stay...as in Leroy will be playable in T8.
i love it so much. he was really selfish before and focused on himself and power, but now he KNOWS there's more to it. he thinks less of power and rather than being uptight and selfish, he uses everything he knows to do good, even if it originated from something he hated (e.g. mishima moves)
I like this character development video. I'd like to see more for other characters in fighting games
It's like Jin has come to terms with the fact that he cannot get rid of the devil gene and instead decided to put that power to good use (No I don't think he's a villain and he never was besides T6)
It also highlights the movie, Tekken blood vengeance, where he says he can control it, he's not loose (if that makes any sense)
I mean, Jin and Rock are really similar. In a lot of ways.
Sadly Heihachi won't be there since T1.
I sure hope the rest of the cast will also be revealed sooner before the full game comes to release, especially characters like Jun Kazama. I have a feeling that Jin and his mother will dominate the game. After all, they are gonna save the world from Kazuya!
Mark my words he will be in t8 he is iconic to tekken
I'm like 80% sure he will return with DvJ as a DLC
maybe he could come back the same way kazumi did in t7, through flashbacks
There's absolutely no way they don't include Heihachi in the game in some point. At the very least DLC
I still cant believe they merged devil jin and jin but i guess its somewhat expected...
They merged Kazuya and Devil in 7. This should be already expected with Jin.
Dope. I love how jin master the traditional okinawan karate like litterally in real Life, can't wait to buy the game
Jin using his Devil powers reminds me of Naruto using Kyuubi's power 💪 he's like... JINchuriki!
Yep because the reason both of them couldn't control their power because of anger, hatred and unacceptance but due to peace, love, and acceptance they were able to control their power.
@@genyatusamaki1219 same with ichigo with his hollow form
You know things about to go down when Jin have Devil Jin's moveset
From the story trailer we got it looks like Jin is gonna fully master the kazama martial arts from his mom's spirit which is the reason he can use the devil Jin powers without fully transforming since the kazama martial arts was specifically used to suppress the devil Jin and is a defensive martial art. In Tekken 8 it looks like Jin will have a combination of the kazama martial art which is the best defensive martial art combine with the Mishima martial art which is the best offensive martial arts combine with the devil Jin abilities. This is the strongest Jin we will get which is ironic since he isn't seeking power anymore eventhough he is at his strongest 😂.
My boy grew up 🥺
T4 Jin Outfit was by far the best outfit he had, that Black and white was pure badassery
Also the other intro pose (the one where he lands) is similar to jin/dvj win pose in ttt2 and Raven intro too
In My Opinion:
That Quote: "Power is Everything" is somewhat a laughingstock for this
Absolute Power will lead you to Corruption
Power ISN'T Everything
I’m super excited that they retooled Jin’s moveset again. He’s gonna be so fun to play around with
Btw Jin & Kazuya's trailer is on Leroy's stage fasho!! All those neon signs & statues lol
It's both Devil Jin and Jin in one.
for the victory pose, Sephiroth is more the reference I think
Jin finally abusing what can his devil do, I like it.
"Laser Scrapper Is Everything.."
This basically shows he tamed and now in full controll of his devil gene
That's looks like Ragna Inspired Outro than KOF because of the One wing effect.
I'm picking up tekken just to play this version of Jin
I really hope that merging DJ moves with jin doesnt mean we lose the Devil Jin character
Many rumors that there is no devil Jin anymore same with haihachi
And some trailer shows Devil Jin will be separate Entity
@@bimapradiga8853 YES. IT WAS FINALLY REVEALED. AM GLAD THEY DIDNT REMOVE DVJ
"Power is Everything"

The reason why Jin has more devil Jin moves it is because he already control his curse
Inspired by Rock Howard? Naw that Super Sayain Blue Gogeta at the end of his dramatic finish against Broly
I'll have to mention that Jin always had Corpse thrust in his moveset (atleast from tk5 as much as i know).
But great observations, liked the video
1:13 - Yugo the wolf - BLOOD ROAR
Gran video hermano te diste cuenta que hacen referencia a panda también... Y que el atuendo que lleva Jin se parece mucho a kyo de kof maximum impact
Upon looking closer, it might not be that omen stance actually changes his moveset, but you can see the devil wings so it is most likely from his devil form heavens door
That edit where where you showed Benimaru😂😂 You might be onto something too, like a KOF guest.
(1:15)
I actually did not pick up on that until now. Good catch!
With all the SNK references, it's either:
- The Tekken dev team hinting that there will be a guest character from an SNK series once again (could be Rock, Terry, Ryo, Kyo, Shingo, or Geese once again), or
- The Tekken dev team's subtle way of secretly asking SNK to have another character appear in Tekken

wow. i'm just know that when jin do devil jin's moves he will make an wings effect like devil jin
Amazing as always, HBGP ✌️
Just like Rock Howard, Ragna also does that in BlazBlue as well.
I bet Jun’s the reason Jin became even more kindhearted after T7.
so he is now more like an Amalgam Jin? like a Duke Nukem of Fighting Games?
