Wow. Both these ladies are very talented. Lorna's voice over powers Liza's and has a much stronger and better voice but Liza has her mother's looks and a powerful voice in a different way. With their voices together, you were seeing Judy on that stage singing with them. They are the best and most talented family in showbusiness
I've seen Lorna in concert. She has a beautiful voice and the one Judy said had the best voice of her daughters. Also love Liza! Great seeing them together. Definitely their mothers daughters!!
Why am I just now finding out that Lorna is Paulette from Grease 2??! I've always loved that movie and I've always loved Judy Garland. Somehow this piece of info flew under my radar all this time! So happy to learn it though ❤️
I wish I had seen this when it first aired.I was living and working the 3-11:30pm shift. They sure do a great job.I bet Judy is looking down and feeling proud.
Just beautiful. The song choices are spot on, they sound great together and who doesn't tear up a bit at the end when the piano plays a couple bars of "Over the Rainbow" while they're wrapping up the thought that no one's gonna hurt you. #legacy
they should have worked together more often, Lorna has the "heavy" notes of Judy and LISA the high ones,..it's like a completion of the wonderful Judy who sacrificed so much for these girls!
If Liza Minnelli came by and read your comment, she might sing you a chorus of "Liza with a Z (not Lisa with an S)". Otherwise, I think you're absolutely right, and I agree completely.
At the end when the Over the rainbow melody played while they are looking in each other’s eyes is truly touching! They sound wonderful together! Lorna is an amazing singer too!
I saw Lorna Luft in a touring production of Guys & Dolls, in Atlanta. I was maybe only 7 or 8, but I still remember it. She brought the whole house down, and maybe some neighboring houses too. Even as a kid I knew that voice was extraordinary. Love these two, and Judy, and killer Sondheim tunes. Not a huge fan of the schmaltzy Rainbow interlude in this, though. Cringe.
My favorite musical is GYPSY. Ironically it’s because of the book, although I love the score. If you take all the music out, the book is so strong. Almost Shakespearean. You have such a great triangle - the Mom favoring one kid over the other, both kids competing for the mother’s attention and then their relationship with each other. I was friends with June Havoc and we had this conversation on the phone once. She loathed the show. She told me it glamorized her mother and that her mom was a psychopath. If they ever do a non musical version, Kathy Bates, would make a great Rose - although too old at this point. I have no issues with the Roz version but I wish in 1962 filmed version they had cast Judy Garland as Rose. Her mom was a Momma Rose. I also wish Liza had played Louise. Have no idea if Lorna could played been June.
I AGREE WITH YOU 100% HOWEVER I DO LOVE LIZA NO MATTER WHAT BUT LORNA HAS JUDY SINGING VOICE & STRENGTH EITHER WAY BOTH LADIES DID A FINE PERFORMANCE!!
Their mother would be so proud.
SHE IS PROUD!!!😊
Desde el cielo las ve y dice...esas son mis hijas
Lorna is totally underrated! Her voice is beautiful!
That's exactly what I have been thinking right now
No shes not!!! Are y’all tone deaf?
@@Lauren1988 Look, my first grade teacher told me not to sing and gave me a triangle to beat in class! Everyone sounds better than me!!!🤣🤣🤣
Lorna does have a great voice. She has a better voice than Liza but not as powrful as Judy's

Lorna sounds like young Judy…and Liza sounds like mature Judy.❤❤❤perfect performance.
Is it just me...but when they’re singing melody together, they sound the closest I’ve heard to their Mom.
i was thinking the exact same thing
There is nothing like magic when siblings sing together in harmony and then come to unison. And such siblings are these. ❤❤
@@SingerEsq The Andrews Sisters come to mind, as well as the McGuires . Trios can sing their arrangements, but nobody can retreat the (genetic) blend of their voices.
Not retreat -- recreate!🤭
Cos Judy Garlands voice was equal to two voices hah
I can see Judy clapping loudly and ecstatic in the heavens and getting all the other angels to clap for her girls
Not even, you idiot’
They should have received a standing ovation for that performance.
Nothing like siblings singing in harmony. And, oh, what siblings. I have never seen this. ❤❤
I'm sorry these days are gone. Individually they're brilliant. Together, they were incomparable. At least we have these videos.☺
Movie musicals lost popularity after the 80s. What a loss for us that these two never made a musical together.

The harmony is amazing. I use to love variety shows on TV that had segments when two great singers would just sing together. I loved it.
Wow I can hear Judy when Liza sings
Lauren Malcom Both daughters!
Even more when they sing the same notes together.
@@cindybrodie9769 That's exactly it! They each have part of her voice... when they sing together, I hear Judy.
Yes for sure, sadly Lorna is a sad tenth place runner up!
Oh I think Lorna’s voice is closer to Judy’s. Liza’s is a bit lower than Judy’s was.
That last line being sung to the melody of “over the rainbow” was such a beautiful touch
What?
Wow! That was spectacular 😊❤
We just know that Judy is looking down smiling! 🙌🙌🙌
I remember seeing this live. I was hysterical when they sang "Mama gets Married."
It’s interesting. Liza’s voice sounds closest to Judy but Lorna has Judy’s strength and base.
You can see them holding back tears when the over the rainbow overture plays at the end
Awww lovely seeing Liza and Lorna perform together ❤️
This is an incredible duet, and so beautifully done. They have their mum's magic.
so emotional to see them both on stage :) I first saw them separately with their mother, legendary Judy Garland :)
Love this so much.
They are both so great.
@Flo Flower 🙄Well I'm Sure ! You Can Do it ! SOOOO MUCH BETTER !!!!
I've seen Lorna in concert. She has a beautiful voice and the one Judy said had the best voice of her daughters. Also love Liza! Great seeing them together. Definitely their mothers daughters!!

Amazing talent. What a family!
Still love this old style shows ... they were special
Judy's girls. Love this. 😍😍

She stunk as Paulette and most of her scenes were cut.
Same!!!! I was today years old!!!!!
Lorna has a softness that complements Liza’s bawdy, jazzier sound
1994, I taped in on VHS too that night...... Much better quality than the one that has been on you tube for 9 years and IN SYNC!!!!!! Thank you!!!!

Sisters. Liza and Lorna. Classic

just WOW!!
Judy desde donde esté debe estar orgullosa de sus hijas
Truly Terrific!!
Gypsy with Judy as Rose, Liza as Louise , Lorna as Dainty June....and Joey as a Newsboy could have happened.🤔🙄😍
Loved this... fantastic ..
Thank you for preserving these amazing show biz moments they are part of our great musical heritage.
Both fantastic !
I saw this live too - and I’ve never forgotten it - I’ve been fortunate to see each perform separately.
Thank you for posting!

That was incredible! Had me teary eyed for sure
Judy's daughters built in talent
30 years ago. They should have toured together. Now its all over. Judy did give us a few good off spring. 😊
I love this!
Quel plaisir de les voir et de les entendre chanter ensemble ! Et quelle famille talentueuse (Judy, Vincente et elles deux) !
I hope Judy was looking down from Heaven when they sang this. She'd be so proud.
Liza really inherited that star quality from her mother
Agree, but Lorna has the better voice, even Judy said so.

Yes
Meh. Liza's name is misspelled as usual, and no, it's not a typo.
Thank you, I've corrected it.

Judy herself thought that while “Lorna had the better voice”, “Liza was the better entertainer.”

Just less wear and tear! Liza belted that voice out throughout the years. Lorna never sang nearly as much as Liza.

I was wondering who else was gonna notice.
