Hi John...
Thank you, my friend!
Hey great to have today's adventure, was hoping you were ok, not seeing anything for a while
Love today's adventure have been to this location a number of times. So much to see, and what a collection of vintage items. Fantastic place and tile designs and colors were incredible.
Also, the collection of fireplaces back plates were incredible. Hope you got to go inside. Thanks so much for sharing your adventure today. Marc
Thank you for checking in and for the kind words, Marc! I'm doing alright...unfortunately, life gets in the way of making videos sometimes.
I did not go inside, but plan on going back and taking the tour. I also want to seee the Mercer Museum.
Thanks for watching, my friend!
that's one cool place, all concrete is amazing I think I could live there, thanks for posting this video, take care
Good morning!
Yeah, it's a pretty remarkable building. 40 rooms and over 200 windows.
Thank you for watching!
Love the video as always. Great location. Huge congrats on 1k subs. You absolutely deserve it and many more!!! 😊
Hi Gary, it's a really nice area to explore. I really wanted to go inside and show everyone what it looks like, but video is not permitted. : (
Thank you for the congratulations, my friend. Your watching and commenting on my videos is very much apreciated! . : )
@jennsylvania1633 well that sucks. if you wanted to go back and go inside, you can't. still a great video though 😉
Congrats on 1K subs, Jen!!!
Very cool. A concrete castle 🏰
Hi RedRooster!
You were one of my first subscribers...Thank you, my friend!
Interesting place. I have heard of it but never visited. I’d be interested in the tour. But it also looks like a good place to meander around a lil and explore. Thanks for the look-see.
Yes, it really is a beautiful place to wander around!
I would have taken the tour if it weren't for not being allowed to take video. I'll go back one day and maybe visit the Mercer Museum as well.
If you find Font Hil Castle architecture intriguing, nearby Mercer Museum will really impress you.
Congratulations on hitting 1K. That's great! The castle and tile works were both really unique looking buildings and I liked all the details you pointed out. Also very pretty grounds and loved the trees lining the driveway.
Thanks, I'm excited to be at 1K subs!
Fonthill Castle is an interesting place and a must visit when in Bucks County.
Thank you for watching!
Jensyl!!! First off, such a cool place!
Secondly, CONGRATS ON 1K!!
Hiya Kia!
It's a cool place for sure. I need to go back and tour the inside someday.
Thank you, my friend : )
Cheers 🍻
😊Cheers!
I get the idea the welcome center was originally the carriage house and servants quarters. Cool place for sure. Nice video.
Hi William!
I believe that is correct. Thank you for taking the time to comment. It is very much apreciated!
it's funny, i always think the same thing- no matter what state someone lives in , there's probably so much to explore that you didnt know about.. i surely found a ton of places in the last 2 years that i never knew about! Great video!
Hi Lovie
Prior to the pandemic, I always felt as though I had to fly somewhere to enjoy sights and nature. Being from Philadelphia, I had no idea how beautiful our state is. Thank you for watching!
Your videos are gaining nicely in popularity and happy to see you have so many subscribers! To me this castle looks spooky like most and probably haunted. If Disney World ever moved to Pennsylvania, they would have a head start on their haunted castle! Nice video, always interesting what you find. ....Daniel
Hi Daniel! I’m thrilled to see the channel growing!
You’re right-this castle definitely has that spooky, haunted vibe. If Disney ever made their way to Pennsylvania, this place could be the perfect as a Haunted Kingdom! Glad you enjoyed the video; there’s always something fascinating to uncover. Thanks for your continued support and kind words-it really means a lot!
Really enjoyed this video. I’ve toured both the castle and the tile works. If you ever get the time, well worth it. The castle and all its rooms are very interesting. They don’t allow cameras in the castle due to his extensive collection of books that are worth big bucks.
Hi Jeff!
I've heard from a few people that it's really worth visiting. I'll go back one day. I'd also like to see the Mercer Museum. Have you ever been there?
Been to the museum many times. Always a good visit.
Thank you for sharing this interesting video. Greetings from your new subscriber from Prague 😊💯💯💯
You are quite welcome!
Font Hill tour is in two parts. Each one is a little more than an hour. It's a must see. Pretty sure you need to get tickets weeks in advance, at least that is how it was when we went..., about 5 years ago??? Anyway, it is great!!
Hi George!
Thanks for the tip! I may just have to get tickets for my next visit. 😊
Thank you for watching!
The tour guide asked me if I would be able to live there, and I enthusiastically replied, YES! She seemed shocked, and said, really?
There are several different tours available, covering different parts of the building, with one that takes you from the basement, to out on the highest tower
Neat little fact: If you look closely, you can actually make out the stone farmhouse that the castle was built around.
Good morning!
It’s fascinating to think about how the castle grew around the original farmhouse.
Thank you for watching, my friend
By the way, "ElementofKindness" - I love it!
The rings on the post are to tie up your horse, and I think October 26th is their annual pumpkin festival, they set up a bunch of tents and displays.
Hiya Jill!
yeah, that makes sense. I remember seeing a lot of rings like that on concrete posts in Philadelphia, most likely for the same reason.
Thank you!
I'm sure it is on your list but the Mercer Museum in Doylestown is another work of Henry Mercer that should not be missed!! It is essentially his collection of "tools" as conceived by an archeologist of the 1700-1800s.
Hi Greg,
Absolutely! I’m definitely planning to check out the Mercer Museum. I’ve heard so many great things about it. I’m not sure if filming inside is allowed-probably not-but the exterior is fascinating too.
They also currently have an exhibit on the Doan Gang that I’m really excited to check out.
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment-much appreciated!
Amazing the size of these properties people owened years ago. If you have time check it out a place called Bishop's Castle the guy built it all by hand or vist there vids on RUclips Thanks for the video
I just looked up Bishop's Castle. Very cool! If I ever get back to Colorado, I'm going to visit.
Oh yeah, people had huge properties back in the 18th and 19th centuries.
Thank you for watching, my friend!
Fun fact - Henry Mercer designed the 44 room building, but he wasn't an architect.
Hi Phillip,
really? I never knew that. Thanks for info as well as for watching!
When it comes to unique home, Frank Lyoid Wright has. Nothing on Mr. Mercer. Take the tour, unique learning experience.
I completely agree! Fonthill Castle and the Moravian Tile Works have a special charm to them. Thanks for watching!
