I own an Activa 2G (my mom's scooter since 2011-12) and one day my college classmate tells me that he's brought his Activa 6G and I was really excited to see how this once a worthy machine looks now. Safe to say it was one of the most underwhelming moments of my life... You'd need Sherlock's abilities to differentiate between the two unless someone tells you which one is which..
In my hometown, people don't opt for home delivery of cylinders because it costs extra. Instead, they tie the cylinder to their motorcycle seat and bring it home. Ever since scooters became more common, they place the cylinder on the floorboard and bring it that way. I've been seeing this since childhood, and that's how it used to happen at my home too. My dad would wake up around 4-5 in the morning to go get the cylinder. Strange but true.😅😅
As as Airbus pilot, Colors play a huge role in providing information about the systems. It automatically programs your brain about severity of the warning or an Indicator based on color and priority the given indicator should be having. There are limited colors in all of the Information displays. So after a while, your brain is just programmed subconsciously about which warning to worry about and which can be addressed within some time with less priority.
@@motorinc I have a Question for Shumi Sir. If you had to recommend a bike which delivers a launch experience like a commercial Jet taking off and is relatively easy to live with; like a street naked, what would it be?😄
Honda cb300f or cb300r. These 2 have the best power to weight ratio in its class. It has excellent acceleration because the weight is less, it's like putting 300cc engine in 150 cc Honda unicorn.
Another Jupiter 125 owner right here, Father bought the scooter after I had a crash on the old activa 125 and had the engine knocked(due to which the crash happened). Agree on the throttle heaviness part of it and agree, it’s a bit of a work in traffic but I’ve gotten used to it. It’s been just over a month like 32 days since we bought the scooter and it already has 1300 km on it. And I can also confirm that the handling of the scooter is just amazing, because I lean the vehicles quite often as my commute has a lot of good corners so I do that and I can almost get my knee down on the Jupiter 125 but couldn’t do it on the activa. The chassis is just in a really good place. Also, glad they have toned down the indicator noise from the 110 to 125 and still hate that side stand alarm beeeeeep.
TVS service experience in Kalpetta, Wayanad is very good. They do an instant and great job with my Jupiter. They also let me inside and show me and explain various mechanisms once they open my scooter. It's not only a fun learning experience but the technicians seem skilled and courteous. This one is 40 kms from my house, but I wouldn't go to any other service centre nearby as some of their other service outlets are horrendous.
That works out well for you. Problem is that a good experience at TVS SVCs are an exception rather than the rule. And this is true throughout the country judging by various comments under TVS related content. So yeah, they really do need to address this.
Recently sold the jawa classic, and repaired an old access just enough to get it running. easy nature of this scooter makes the office commute so fun. Indian scooters are probably the best version of the scooters. So light, easy, simple and dependable. The frugal thinking makes sometimes the most practical products.
As someone who hates the Activa (and modern Honda) with a passion, it's always fun to hear Shumi talk about the Activa. As usual, learnt a lot from the conversation, even though it's a vehicle not even tangentially on my radar. Also, the Ather's accelerator is really hard too, and I was uncomfortable with it. Even after years of riding (and being a mechanically hypersensitive individual), I hadn't put my finger on it - shows the value a couple of seasoned pros like you guys bring. Cheers!
I've seen the new Jupiter 110 in person and in my neighborhood the no of new Jupiters are rising. And they really look awesome. It was nice steady evolution of the design TVS did with Jupiter 110.
It looks absolutely stunning... Saw one in person yesterday... The design is leagues ahead of the bland Activa design we see on every commuter scooter... Way to go TVS...👍
I got a used Wego 2015 recently. I always had a perception that scooters are just functional. And I guess they still are, but I was surprised how well TVS was able to nail Wego. Tvs did a really good job with the Wego, and its a pretty looking underrated scooter.
They took everything that they learnt from the Wego, made it better & put into the Jupiter which is why it's the second best selling scooter in our country.
I am ex Jupiter 110 and current Jupiter 125 owner, - Issue about fuel filler cap is true. In fact at all the petrol pumps warn me that if fuel spills out on auto mode, it's not their fault which is kind of true. - About auto start-stop, I even have to apply breaks without which engine won't start along with the blip. - TVS is still not good at service. - Also heard TVS had made changes to battery. I had to replace Jupiter 125 battery within a year and I was not alone. - Seat lock stops working after an year. I experienced this for Jupiter 110 & 125 both.
I have 0 interest in vehicles, but alot of it in tech, so naturally EV's were the first moving machines which got my attention, one day I found a great comparison video of 3 best selling 2 wheeler EVs,, it was your video, next day one of your video comes up, it's a podcast related to vehicles, but suddenly I was interested, and when I went to buy my own bike, I actually had intrest knowing more about it other then it's milage and maintenance fees, the question "is 125 cc enough for me?" comes up in my mind, although the answer to that question was "yes" but because of you I have started to notice bikes on streets, started to care how wide my tyre is, what oil my bike consumes,, and most importantly I have started to feel how alive bikes are,, so keep it up, you actually made atleast one person to care for vehicles, my next one most probably will be more then a commutor 😉
I can vouch for that too. I never had any interest in any bikes, I have only rode on scooty throughout my life. We have bought a new Jupiter 125 and I am teaching my partner to drive it. Initially I thought about buying one lightweight girly scooty for her once she learns to ride, but after listening to MotorInc for a while, I have scrapped the plan. She can have the Jupiter, I will go with any 300+ cc bike.
The conversation is so professional and charismatic with the background and the editing quality that it doesn't feel like they are just talking about a family scooter. Nice man, the whole team really nailed it. It's really a kind of entertainment for auto enthusiasts who have been bored by just mundane specifications.
Have been a TVS customer for close to 10 Years now... The only time I faced an issue with service was when I had to replace the front fork oil seal, I had to wait for 2 days (during covid lockdown). Apart from that, all the services have been of good quality and on time. I recently even availed their free bike pick-up and drop (within 5 kms) facility for service and that was also a smooth experience.
I'm only a quarter of the way through the episode and I'm loving how savage Shumi is about the Activa! I rode hired Activas recently on a holiday and they felt so underwhelming. None of the rental places I went to had anything else available, so I couldn't compare the Activa to anything else. I would've loved to have a Jupiter or even a Scooty Pep for comparison. I guess it makes sense for rental agencies though. The Activa will run regardless of how badly customers abuse it, and a bad but always running scooter is more profitable than a good scooter that needs regular service.
I have to drive a lot for work and listening to Motorinc on the car radio is what I have switched to mostly in lieu of music, the production quality is so good, that it puts a lot of other podcasts sound just meehh! On a side note, the intro music is brilliant, whoever has composed it.
i share shumi's frustration with the activa. But honda has built such a reputation with the first activa ,that in almost all household scooter is activa
I own both and trust me i just feel like getting Active scrapped as it turned such a bad and uncomfortable (suspension comfort) scooter . That katoori (dish blowl like suspension) wala suspension is 💩
TVS Service is always the caveat. Loved the lively and happy conversation around the scooter. Kudos to TVS for a great product. Thanks Shumi(All the sarcasm added and the smiles :))
Missing my Jupiter while watching this .. rode it around 7 years 🥲.. I fell in love with cornering because of this scooter .. just had to upgrade the tires
I did not expect a 42 min video on scooters considering how dry the market is, but it is always really fun to hear you people talk. The feelings one, the one about niggles and dealbreakers, about dreaming big, the road trip one, the one about building walls and going past that - have already become the best conversations that ive ever heard online. I seriously didnt think you guys could come up with more topics for the podcast yet theres always more than what meets the eye i guess. That feeling has come back with season 2 approaching its end, but im not somebody who can look into the future. Happy with what's out there, and good if more is on the way! I've not watched all of the episodes yet so there are conversations ive not heard yet. You people are worth listening to, in short. Not just as reviewers, but also as someone who is just speaking, nothing beyond. You make me want to pay attention, and thanks for that. Hope y'all been having a good time, and hope y'all have a good time ahead. Edit: just since service was mentioned, i do want to add on that bajaj service feels no different, they just seem to care enough to listen to you when theyre talking to you face to face. If they were distracted even for a second, or may i say, they saw a tft in their peripheral vision (lol), they'd show you the true colours, which is that theyre not very much on the listening side as much as they are on lets get this over with side.
Very engaging video! Loved it! I sold my apache rtr 160 4v in about 5 months partly because of how the service centre treated me. I didn’t want to be associated with something where my money was not valued. When a customer buys a product the company is forever in debt to that customer and they oath to treat him/her better. Without customers it’s only a matter of time before that company goes bankrupt. PS: i made a promise to myself there wont be a tvs product in my house ever again no matter how good it is.
Never seen this kind of thoroughly explained video for a entry level scooter, that’s show the your commitment towards the making all kind of vehicles users feels good. 😊 keep it up.
yesterday we had an family talk about how we should replace our 7 year old Activa 3g and i suggested Jupiter 110 . and now shumi and kartik uploaded this video. Are you guys watching me from some kind of monitor 😅
1) I own a Jupiter 125 and every Petrol Pump attendant just despises filling it up. Every one says so many engineers can't design a proper fuel filler. 2) For TVS Service: I recently had a small accident for which the rear brake lever needed to be changed. Just 6 days after I received it from repairs from there service center, the Yoke and Brake Lever just came off and hung by the brake wire while I was riding the scooter. Thank god I was riding at a slow speed in a small road or I could've been died that day. I took it to the service centre next day and called up the manager. Though he took it very seriously and fixed it, the issue is that the service was very bad and caused a near fatal accident. They found the engineer forgot to tighten the bolt that locks the Brake Yoke in place. This kind of negligence is inexcusable.
I own jupiter 125, and its correct that the fuel lid in the front is a bit of a problem reasons 1: You cant fill it on auto (as he said) cuz the pipe through which the feul goes to the bottom of the foot area needs air to breathe otherwise the petrol comes out.....i doesnt do so if you fill it leaving some air space for the pipe 2: The tank never fills the claimed quantity (5.2 litres) and is maximum it can take is 4-4.5 litres (emply tank) He is a bit wrong at rhw start stop system tho...cuz after a halt we can switch the engine on by two ways 1: (as he said) by giving a little throttle (without brakes) 2: By pressing the original start button (this can be done (brakes need to be applied)) Overall its a wonderful scooter and my user experience has been beautiful!!
Coming to TVS SERVICE. I’m here writing a pathetic incident at Srikant TVS, Bhadrak, Odisha. I took my Ntorq for a Fuel sensor change as it was malfunctioning. So they changed it with a Jupiter 125 fuel sensor which ended up showing false information. I was struck in mid way of highway as there was no fuel left but my scooter was showing 3-4 levels of fuel🙂. Then I went for a replacement. Instead of solving, they tried to blame us, they instead of replacing, bent the curves of the floater. Yet it wasn’t solved. Finally after lots of struggle, I got a replacement genuine part. Now my scooter works like gem. Btw mine Ntorq holds the record for the fastest stock Ntorq (BS6-Phase1) not with that led light, old Chevrolet DRL one, but with FI doing a 114 KMPH stock.
I too faced a fuel indicating censor issue in my 2009 model activa and it is showing improper information of fuel. Zero fuel was left in the tank. But the needle is showing there is more fuel In Amazon I found one gadget which will show low fuel warning light effectively. You can buy and install it
I have an Access 125 Disc variant. It is very fun to ride, Punchy, Stable and Agile. But it feels a little unstable while leaning into those long curves in city roads. When i rode the Jupiter 125 of a friend. It felt so much more confident. 12 inch wheels make a massive difference. I just hope suzuki gives it in the updated access like they did with burgman EX and not price it as obnoxiously!
The issue about fuel filler is right. Always experience it with Jupiter 125. And they're right actually, fuel flowed out in 2 occasions for me when they were filling in normal speeds. Also kept the start stop in off always as it's a circus to make it work sometimes.😅
Great detailed review as usual, Karti and Shumi. While I can personally accept the safety angle of the AutoStart feature, even though it can be a bit annoying, a recent incident involving my cousin underscores its importance. She accidentally throttled her friend's electric scooter while casually chatting on the road, which resulted in the scooter pulling her forward and causing multiple fractures. On another note, the reliability of the Honda Activa is a key reason for its sustained popularity, despite the lack of new features or updates. I've personally owned an Activa for over 13 years, and it has been remarkably dependable, requiring just a service every 2,000 kilometers to keep running smoothly. From a service stand point, my experience has been bad with dealer networks in Bangalore.
At first when I saw photos of new jupiter in internet it looked ugly like those very cheap electric scooters but when I saw it in real life I feel in love with the design and beauty of it, I wonder why??????
@@kaivalyaprasadjena8041 same for me....i felt the same but after some time i saw it parked somewhere(copper gold kinda colour) and i was like woohoo it looks nice
Was kinda disappointed that it came out so soon after we got the Jupiter 110 2024 but after the remember all the times it has helped my family and me get things done , I do not regret it anymore.
I have always wondered how Shumi manages crisp white shirts while commuting to the studio on his bikes ? I always end up in office like mad max riding through Bangalore traffic
I have been using a Jupiter 125 for over a year. It's a great machine for commuting and running errands on. But the service experience has been not so good. At times they have been prompt but not so always. There was a problem with broken connection from the battery, leaving the entire electrical system of the scooter dead. This happened twice. The second time I was left stranded having to deal with RSA. The issue was fixed this time, but the way dealer handled it lead to me escalating it with TVS directly. This lead to some back and forth with the dealership and they finally apologized and gave me a free wash.😐 Somehow the dealership has gotten my service schedule wrong. When I receive a call for Nth service, it is actually the N+1th service by the official service history. Reported it to dealer but it's of no use. SA checks the history and does what's needed.
Under the floorboard fuel tank feels and looks convenient until you accidentally rupture the tank on speed bumps....Mahindra Flyte is a good example of this...back in 2012 I had to replace/replace my fuel tank multiple times because of scraping the bottom of my Flyte's floorboard when going over speedbumps and uneven roads causing the fuel tank to leak...
As a 2.5 year owner of a Jupiter 125, I agree with each and every word of Shumi, especially with respect to the Fuel lid. It really is one of the best in class and It's really a shame I have to let it go, but time to upgrade!
Thanks a ton guys for this. Was impatiently wasting. Now, looking forward to a full review. That one line about the Jupiter 125 throttle solves the mystery about why people were not gaga about its power and torque. I hope you'll throw some light on this "sheet metal wheels" vs drum - alloy wheels thingie. I guess it has to do with long term ownership or bad roads. But there are no definite pointers anywhere. Also, the difference in braking performance between disc and drum brakes. I can see a few complaints on RUclips about people finding a drained battery after leaving the scooter idle for a week or more. I guess this has to do with bluetooth, which is🎉 always on, draining the battery. A vacation, or downtime due to fever means you have a drained battery. So, you need a kick start, any time - at least on the smart connect models. 😢 Hope you can throw some light on this.
I had a drive today and absolutely convinced with Shumi's review. Its smooth, comfortable, enjoyable scooter. Also it doesn't vibrate like Jupiter 125 on high speeds. Great video like Jupiter !! ♥
This is exactly what I was waiting to hear. Good scooter has been made better & that's a good sign & I'm always happy to see that. As usual, TVS needs to calm itself down from the urgency to showcase what it can do with tech & screens. Like we've always learnt, tech should always work in the background in helping the rider/driver & shouldn't be in the face distracting the rider/driver. Like Shumi sir said, this scooter should've come with ABS on the front wheel which would've given TVS a great marketing tool & first-in-class rider safety. Apart from the annoying start-stop system & the LCD screen, we have a good scooter & I'm happy for it. And by the way, if comparing the Activa & the Jupiter to Iron man's suites, the Activa is like the first suite he makes in the cave with scrap parts, premitive & on the other hand, the Jupiter is like the Nano suite, advanced.🙃
As an iQube owner when we were looking into a Petrol scooter for my mother we didnt even consider the Jupiter because of our experience with TVS Service and went right ahead with buying whicher the newest version of Activa was.
tbh with you, when it comes to scooters tvs service is usually fine. There bike's service experience is something that you wouldnt want, and its not like they ruin your vehicle intentionally it's just that the mechanic guy's at brands like hero, and tvs only really know how to service a commuter like tvs raider, tvs radeon, splendors so when you bring a modern machine to them like the apache's or the karizma they are dumb found and they just clean/lube the chain and change the engine oil in the name of "service", following the manual is foriegn concept to them.
YES SHUMI I AGREE WITH YOU IN MANY WAYS , TVS PLAYS AROUND WITH INFOTAINMENT ON SCREEN , BUT SOLVES BIGGER PROBLEMS IN CHUTKIYO MEIN, LOKE IN WAY BACK 2017, THE RTR 200 CAME UP WITH ITS HEADLIGHT AUTOMATICALLY ON ONLY AFTER ( 1 SEC) SWITCHING ON THE ENGINE, WHICH IS STILL AN ISSUE FOR THE HONDAS.
Hey Shumi, I have owned the TVS Raider 125 since January 2022 and have always had it serviced at the authorised service centre. My experience in the beginning was-for the lack of a better word-pathetic! But since January of this year, I've noticed a serious uptick in their service quality and promptness-and no, I did not change service centers. I recently had to get the left front fork tube replaced. My regular service centre (Indian Motors TVS Service Centre in Bellandur, Bengaluru) sent me to their sister centre nearby (Kadubeesanahalli). TVS even sent me pictures of my bike getting worked on.
@@motorinc the last time I went to the service centre, I chatted with other owners who had come for service/repair and it was mostly positive. One guy had recently bought a TVS Raider and it was his second service and he was very positive in his feedback clearly mentioning it was better than Hero - he upgraded from a Splendor.
@@motorinc amongst other owners I personally know, it has been a mixed bag of feedback - but recently, especially in Bengaluru and Guwahati, it has started improving with (paraphrased): 1. Reduced Time to get work done 2. Better Availability of Parts 3. Better trained mechanics and advisors 4. Complimentary services like free pickup and drop 5. Clear communications. I will be keeping my fingers crossed and hope these changes keep the momentum and result in a positive ownership experience.
Personally I feel the company cannot do much directly when it comes to service quality and experience. That majorly depends on the authorized dealer and the employees they have recruited and how well they are taken care of especially technicians. A dealer will deliver when it has just started but quickly taper off once it has got it's business set on track. The dealer is the main culprit and majority of them don't handle their team well and consistently. I have a Yamaha R15 v2(2012) and RayZ(2015). The R15 was bought brand new and the RayZ used (from a friend) and has been to the authorized workshop for 3 or 4 times (during the covid restrictions) rest handled and cared for by a private workshop (Kumar Auto - Sakinaka -Andheri). Service has never been a traumatic experience for me and I just enjoy riding my bike and scooter.
Thanks for sharing @sumeshmarar9984 but there are ways a brand can control more of the experience. Look at Maruti Suzuki, for example. You don't hear as many complaints about their service because the brand is very involved in the service experience and every negative feedback is taken very seriously. There are too many factors here so it is difficult but it's definitely something a brand can and should control.
Got my Jupiter 110 in 2023, and it's been a dream to ride. I skipped the service center and instead have it maintained by a local mechanic. Using Motul Scooter Power LE fully synthetic oil and with the rear suspension set to the stiffest, it rides super smooth. Loving the experience so far! 🏂
I love how everytime we talk about TVS, the conversation ends with, only if their service was better and every time we talk about a family scooter, it ends up with how Activa has managed to stay the same in terms of features but worsen in terms of hardware.
I've been owning TVSs for decades now (2002: victor gl, 2017: scooty pep+, 2023 jupiter 125) and as far as service is concerned...I havent faced any issue like the internet talks about the service experience. here in indore the dealerships are good with good service experience (Also we maintain our vehicles just like new and also service them regularly) the only issue about them is spare parts that can become a hassle for you to get OEM parts and rather multiple times I had to go to aftermarket to search for those parts and then got them installed in the service centre (they say this part isnt available...you get it from somewhere and we will install is likewise))
A 100% right call. Hard seats is an automatic negative point when you try to press with your fist thinking about comfort. I admit I would prefer better foam. Then again if you say firm is better I am sure it must be so.
I agree with TVS about the logic of kids being on the floorboard. Although it's a big safety issue - but I have seen a lot of parents allowing their children to stand on the floorboard despite safety concerns and some of the times, the children end up toying with the accelerator while in traffic.
@@motorinc True. But I guess, given that TVS is conservative, they would have thought that one rotation of the accelerator would probably alert the parent who might sense some action on the accelerator handle. Redundancy check, I feel.
The discussion was quite pleasant. Liked the interaction between Kartikeya and Shumi. The analogy for Activa when it came to civilisation game was bang on. I feel it. I own an Activa 3G model and it's quite a pain driving on the Indian roads when they are bumpy. All things fair, my only gripe would be that TVS let so much real estate on the dashboard go to waste. I mean, it looks very odd as if there is a sudden discontinuity given the rest of the bike is screaming continuity. A mix like digital and analog as in 125 would have really upped its ante. Maybe they want bikers to stare less on the dashboard and focus more on the road while driving. What do I know!!
About the service experience of the scooter, the basic ones are fine. They change the oil, oil filter, adjust the brakes and water wash. The moment there is any other work is involved to change / repair something, that's when the gamble begins. Not only TVS, this is happening with Royal Enfield and Tata as well. I had Terrible experiences with Royal Enfield and Tata more then TVS when there is a part change involved. Tvs is comparatively okay, may be it is because it is a scooter. One example with Royal Enfield. I had to change th front disc pads for my UCE Bullet Electra. I gave the bike along with the general service requirement. They changed the break pad and now the bike won't move. When I complained, they just hit the calliper hard with a hammer and called it a day. I had to fight with them and eventually get it fixed with an outside mechanic. Another example. My bike's electric Rectifier is gone as a result more than 25Amps coming though to charge the battery. This also resulting in one of the spark plug not working sporadically and i feel the sudden jerks even when there is more than 50% throttle. They diagnosed it as a carburettor fault and changed the part without my consent. The old part that has to be returned is missing in their garage. The new one is faulty and doesn't lower the revs soon enough. Escalating things further proved of no use. I am not a specialist with arguments and that gave them an advantage to speak louder. Unfortunate situations. One more example when one of the front fork cylinder is changed when the ild one was absolutely fine. I can go on and on about Royal Enfield. But when you look at the online forums, its all mostly positive reviews about the aervice experiences. Maybe the ones posted only had basic services. I for one Never once had a good experience in any of the service centers in Chennai with Royal Enfield in the 11 years of my ownership. Not the right video to put out these comments, but doing it anyway just to let you know that the online comments doesn't give the full picture, including this one. Want people to share more granular details whenever possible for others to get benefitted.
We don't anticipate there to be a huge difference, function wise, except for the front fuel tank @dakshkumarsingh909 so no need to be envious. The previous Jupiter was rated great too by Shumi and it remains so.
FWIW, the "cylinder on the foot-board" is not a new thing. This was done even in the magazine 'Autocar India', circa 1996, where they had reviewed the TVS Scooty KS/ES (60 CC) vs Bajaj Spirit (maybe Saffire or Pleasure, not sure) and compared the both with the 100 CC Kinetic Honda.
From a 2013 Jupiter 110 owner 10yrs old , 40k on oddo (ik not much but good enough) , scooter still runs as new. Had to get a new carburettor because it was leaking petrol. Obviously the key is to get it serviced form the service centre and not to cheap out or to skip the essential spares. Service experience (Indore , M.P) : Overall it's very satisfying. The best places to get it serviced: Dugad TVS , Geeta bhawan. Other places it was okay but not as good as Dugad did.
Looking forward to TVS providing Candy Crush on their display with the next update.... To entertain us while waiting at the signal or stop-go traffic!! Keep it Up!!
I have a Jupiter 110 and RTR 200. Both TVS machines. They are benchmarks in terms of handling and overall setup. But service quality 🥲🤐. You have to take care personally if you're owning a TVS machine. Don't rely on the TVS service centres. Find a good personal mechanic and you're good to go. Their service centres really don't know what type of great machines they have!!
I remember you guys hinting about something new coming up for better conversations. You guys repeating this in the past few contents. Thanks for creating some curiosity around that. Looking forward to it
Finally saw it in flesh today. This blue colour is absolutely gorgeous ! I think this can now be the default choice over the Access 125 (unless someone is hellbent on getting a 125 over a 110). Also, Access' horrible age old white speedometer on lower trims and very, very weird lcd on top variant is something Suzuki needs to work on asap!
21:15 another example of TVS’s tech glitch is that their glide through technology. It has a mind of its own and comes on unnaturally and in my 10,000KMs usage of my RTR1604V, I haven’t got used to it.
When my relative want to buy scooter, as i was excited so i took them to every showroom of companies like hero, tvs, suzuki except honda. But they still went for honda and got activa, obviously i hated that. But when i was at service center for my sp 125 (my father also went for honda because of service experience)at that time few guys came for service and they said that they choosed honda over tvs of their service. They should really need to improve their services.
We have the OG Honda Aviator - purchased in 2008. Having clocked more than 80k kilometers till date, I was amused to find out how stable and comfortable this scooter is compared to a friends Activa 125 (purchased in 2021 - with 30k kilometers). Its more like Honda knows how to make good products, but we do not demand better products. Shumi's hate for Activa is well place!!
That last line is bang on @harshaldongre849. Honda is hugely reliant on consumer surveys to understand expectations so if their products aren't up to par, that only reflects on us as consumers of their products.
This is how a first impression should be. Talk about the product, the company and keep us entertained. I defenitely liked your satire on the Activa Gs. Jupiter 125 owner here and yes, there are vibrations in the floor board. I like them because it reminds that you're riding a good old trusted ICE 😂 To other members, I located and cut the side stand buzzer wire and that's no longer an issue. And yes, that start stop system is totally useless and the engine would shut down when you least expect it to. An engine kill switch would have been much better. Peace 😊
About the Kick starter. If someone has multiple vehicles, investing in a battery charger is a nice option. Not using a bike for a week can lead to no start, specially in cold places. Plugging battery connections off when leaving for more than a couple of weeks is another good option.
I also connected + - ulta pulta, and fuse gone, good that it had an extra fuse, so i could get back home. Tools and little bit of knowledge should be general.
It was hard to distinguish whether you said that you gonna be talking about the blue scooter that's absolutely "lovely" or whether you said "dumb"! So surprising it was for me that I had to listen to this particular part a couple of times. Then felt relieved that you actually said it is lovely!
Considering as "bridge b/w manufacturer and consumers like us, we request you, the auto journalists to submit a mass petition or something regarding abs on all two wheelers as a standard equipment, or atleast as a premium option to every single motorcycle and scooter.
The front fuel filler - I bought the 125 in June 2022. And since then, I've refuelled like 150+ times in various stations. And the only issue some raised is for me to bring the scooter in the same direction as a the pump! i.e. for the pump to be on the left of the scooter, same side as the fuel filler.
1. Agree that the fuel guys don’t want to use auto cutoff on my Jupiter 125. Tried in multiple pumps across Chennai. 2. Also the break + throttle to auto switch on is very annoying that I stoped using it. 3 Jupiter 125 vibes a lot at low speeds. Not sure if the same is observed on 110s 4. Battery busted in 1 year. I had to replace it 5. Silent start system is not consistent after a while. Service guys not very helpful on this despite complaining. Planning to take my scooter to a local mechanic and see if he is able to help resolve.
Excellent video as always. But could you Start mentioning On-road prices of the vehicles from now. Mentioning any one city is also fine. because math after tht is easier than doing math from the ex-showroom prices. For eg: If u guys mention on road price of Mumbai, a guy in Bengaluru can add up without using a calculator to figure out the price in Bengaluru.
Have you guys thought about having a discord channel? I really love the community you have built and would like to get to talk to folks who know more about cars and bikes than I do. Love the channel and your content!
Very review video is a master piece with in detail discussion, i am sure the design and improvement team of manufacturers must be veiwing the videos multiple times, kudos to u, we r so lucky to have these high class videos❤
Yes, front fuel filling is kind of sucks... Though i enjoy the space under seat. I use to advice him to fill slow little up and cautious during filling petrol. Another worst thing is that cap lock struck and I had to go to service center with petrol lid open....
This jupiter really looks good I want to correct shumi sir that current activa 110 does get telescopic suspension from base variant & alloy wheels on H-smart variant, yes but doesn't get disc brake in any

Shumi hating on the Activa is so many years of pent up anger clearly :D
But yeah, great episode as always. Makes this episode worthwhile :)
Thank you for joining us @sammohan444
I own an Activa 2G (my mom's scooter since 2011-12) and one day my college classmate tells me that he's brought his Activa 6G and I was really excited to see how this once a worthy machine looks now. Safe to say it was one of the most underwhelming moments of my life... You'd need Sherlock's abilities to differentiate between the two unless someone tells you which one is which..
@@RevsAndWheels Lol
I wish the Activa never changes so we can enjoy Shumi's jokes about it forever! 🤣
😆
I agree!!!
Hope the townfolks will learn the easyway to stop doing that.
We agree @jigardurai3248! Makes this haphazard use of colours all the more annoying.
@@motorinc I have a Question for Shumi Sir. If you had to recommend a bike which delivers a launch experience like a commercial Jet taking off and is relatively easy to live with; like a street naked, what would it be?😄
Hayabusa, Cap'n!

Thanks for letting us know Mayank! Glad you're enjoying your riding!
Team, when you will try Simple One electric scooter?

Old access is one of the best scooters you can get.
Cheers!
Glad you're enjoying the MotorInc experience Mudit!

Absolutely!
I have a 12years old white wego and i love it😊❤
They took everything that they learnt from the Wego, made it better & put into the Jupiter which is why it's the second best selling scooter in our country.
I am another Wego owner, 12+ years hardly any major issue, TVS service center can be horror according to area as well.
We have a 2014 Wego 1st gen and its still better than Hero Duet that dad bought some 5 years ago.
I love the engine and how it rides. Looks sleek.
I am ex Jupiter 110 and current Jupiter 125 owner,
- Issue about fuel filler cap is true.
Thanks for sharing @TrapSwap, helps!
If only Robocop needed a scooter, this would fit the bill perfect. TVS design team should take a bow. Beautiful looking scooter.

Awesome awesome awesome! That's so so good to read, @allaboutclash! Best of luck and feel free to ask for help if you need it!

Using the word versatile very generously there @RoktimBhattacharjya811 😆
Never thought there were so many things to talk about the new Jupiter. Hats off to you guys for giving so much information
Thanks for sharing @Vishnu-B

Man I wish i disovered you guys earlier! So much fun listening and what a mature conversation as well! Clear and straightforward!
Instrumental display of Kinetic Honda in the 90s was awesome. Horizontal and fantastic visibility

I own jupiter 125, and its correct that the fuel lid in the front is a bit of a problem reasons
1: You cant fill it on auto (as he said) cuz the pipe through which the feul goes to the bottom of the foot area needs air to breathe otherwise the petrol comes out.....i doesnt do so if you fill it leaving some air space for the pipe
2: The tank never fills the claimed quantity (5.2 litres) and is maximum it can take is 4-4.5 litres (emply tank)
He is a bit wrong at rhw start stop system tho...cuz after a halt we can switch the engine on by two ways
1: (as he said) by giving a little throttle (without brakes)
2: By pressing the original start button (this can be done (brakes need to be applied))
Overall its a wonderful scooter and my user experience has been beautiful!!
But the needle is showing there is more fuel
In Amazon I found one gadget which will show low fuel warning light effectively. You can buy and install it
Thanks for sharing @AMI2AV, glad to hear that your issue got resolved at the end.
@@aravindbhargava1651 thanks mate. I’ll keep an eye on that.
Thanks for sharing @pradmad
Shumi always rides in full gear @siddharthdg. He just changes at the office as and when needed.
This lead to some back and forth with the dealership and they finally apologized and gave me a free wash.😐
Somehow the dealership has gotten my service schedule wrong. When I receive a call for Nth service, it is actually the N+1th service by the official service history. Reported it to dealer but it's of no use. SA checks the history and does what's needed.
Service is the biggest issue with TVS
Thanks for sharing @ab.anand2092 we can only hope that TVS fixes their service on priority.
Karthik, where is the summary?
That Heavy throttle point is so spot on!!
yes!! my ather 450 have a very heavy throttle. i do finger gymnastics to hold on to it on longer rides
I bought it for my wife ❤. Great looks. Awesome performance.
Finally, the one I have been waiting for......thank you!!!!
Thanks for your patience Anand!
That's encouraging to hear @minakdaspriya4362. Is this an experience you're hearing from other TVS owners that you know too?
@@motorinc the last time I went to the service centre, I chatted with other owners who had come for service/repair and it was mostly positive. One guy had recently bought a TVS Raider and it was his second service and he was very positive in his feedback clearly mentioning it was better than Hero - he upgraded from a Splendor.
@@motorinc amongst other owners I personally know, it has been a mixed bag of feedback - but recently, especially in Bengaluru and Guwahati, it has started improving with (paraphrased):
1. Reduced Time to get work done
2. Better Availability of Parts
3. Better trained mechanics and advisors
4. Complimentary services like free pickup and drop
Thanks for sharing @mukulmaurya3033
I love how everytime we talk about TVS, the conversation ends with, only if their service was better and every time we talk about a family scooter, it ends up with how Activa has managed to stay the same in terms of features but worsen in terms of hardware.
Previously owned Wego and now Jupiter.
I've been owning TVSs for decades now (2002: victor gl, 2017: scooty pep+, 2023 jupiter 125) and as far as service is concerned...I havent faced any issue like the internet talks about the service experience. here in indore the dealerships are good with good service experience (Also we maintain our vehicles just like new and also service them regularly)
the only issue about them is spare parts that can become a hassle for you to get OEM parts and rather multiple times I had to go to aftermarket to search for those parts and then got them installed in the service centre (they say this part isnt available...you get it from somewhere and we will install is likewise))
A 100% right call. Hard seats is an automatic negative point when you try to press with your fist thinking about comfort.
I admit I would prefer better foam. Then again if you say firm is better I am sure it must be so.
🤜🏽🤛🏽
I agree with TVS about the logic of kids being on the floorboard. Although it's a big safety issue - but I have seen a lot of parents allowing their children to stand on the floorboard despite safety concerns and some of the times, the children end up toying with the accelerator while in traffic.
If the child is that proactive at being mischievous, what's stopping them from learning this and doing it anyway @kedarterwad6?🤔
Thanks for sharing @TejasNaik01
Thanks for sharing @ntsikha! Every little bit helps inform us to create a larger view of things.
I have a Jupiter 110 from one year ago, and am envious now. Even though my matt black looks sexy as well, this one is more functional.
Thanks for letting us know SG!
Oh lord! We hope not @prasadmayekar8189
Man this channel has replaced nearly all my podcasts. It is my walking partner now. Happy to pay for ultimate content like this.
Awesome! Glad you're enjoying the MotorInc experience Pritanshu!
Looking forward to it
Thank you @venomhunter93!
I hope the Activa never changes, I love the bashing lol.
New Tvs jupiter 110 is the design of jupiter 125 with futuristic approach , and new refined engine
21:15 another example of TVS’s tech glitch is that their glide through technology. It has a mind of its own and comes on unnaturally and in my 10,000KMs usage of my RTR1604V, I haven’t got used to it.
I hope some two wheeler manufacturer gets an e-ink display for not frequently changing information like Fuel, Odometer etc.
My first scooter in my life, in a very near future. Thanks Shumi bhai😊
Make sure to get a test ride first @siddhartharoy8834
TVS Jupiter seems like the best choice at this price point in the family scooter segment
I am going for base varient😊
That activa part was personal from Shumi, thoroughly enjoyed it, ha ha ha
Personally I like Semi digital Instrument cluster in the previous jupiter more than the fully digital one in this one. It had a more classy appeal
This is how a first impression should be. Talk about the product, the company and keep us entertained. I defenitely liked your satire on the Activa Gs. Jupiter 125 owner here and yes, there are vibrations in the floor board. I like them because it reminds that you're riding a good old trusted ICE 😂
To other members, I located and cut the side stand buzzer wire and that's no longer an issue.
And yes, that start stop system is totally useless and the engine would shut down when you least expect it to. An engine kill switch would have been much better.
Peace 😊
Thanks for sharing @parameswaranv3641, good to hear from an owner.
Since the vehicle launch I was waiting only for your review
Don't have much to discuss about the family scooter... goes on for 42 minutes.. 😍🙏
😅
27:45 Kicker can be fitted as a retro,OEM Kit is available at 1.3K, just like J125
Not sure if the same is observed on 110s
4. Battery busted in 1 year. I had to replace it
5. Silent start system is not consistent after a while. Service guys not very helpful on this despite complaining.
Planning to take my scooter to a local mechanic and see if he is able to help resolve.
Thanks for letting us know @supercoolhari! Helps!
Thanks for the suggestion @manasgangwani1015
I tell you I can't wait for the Activa MotorInc First episode when it is launched. Going to be Brutal & Savage.
We look forward to that too @OhCrap247
Very review video is a master piece with in detail discussion, i am sure the design and improvement team of manufacturers must be veiwing the videos multiple times, kudos to u, we r so lucky to have these high class videos❤
10.40 I knew shumi's love for the activa was just around the corner
😆😂
Yes, front fuel filling is kind of sucks... Though i enjoy the space under seat. I use to advice him to fill slow little up and cautious during filling petrol. Another worst thing is that cap lock struck and I had to go to service center with petrol lid open....
Oh wow. This was a Jupiter 125, Hari?
Activa roasted like never before, I have never seen a guy who hates activa with this kind of passion 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This jupiter really looks good
I want to correct shumi sir that current activa 110 does get telescopic suspension from base variant & alloy wheels on H-smart variant, yes but doesn't get disc brake in any
Thanks SD!
TVS is bringing Long Stroke engine in scooter..... ❤
