    If you want a great Robert Englund skit, check out the Mad TV skit where he was attacked by the Ghostface Killer. Everyone, including Ghostface, only recognizes him as "the guy from V."

      @Bootz If I remember correctly, wasn't it a game show parody sketch? I remember being happy af to see Robert on Mad TV...I can't recall if he was promoting a movie then or not. It was a Halloween show, so maybe not, F v J was awhile later I think...

    Robert Englund is really fun to work with. When I supervised the makeup effects for Freddy’s Dead (for John Buechler) I got to make a dummy of Freddy to blow up, and when Freddy got injured during the end sequence I got to glue a couple of appliances to Englund. He’s exceptional to work with, a genius.

    I met him a couple years ago at comic con in Seattle. I was freaking out in line so bad. He kept shouting catch phrases from his movies every so often, getting huge laughs. I could barely speak to him, and I was sweating hard. I got him to sign a 2001 maniacs picture for me. Figured that be more unique since everyone wanted a Freddy pic. Plus I saw 2001 the night before. I was raised on Nightmare, and I always buy any movie I come across that He's been in or involved in. I love and own 976 evil, and the mangler. I own the movie: the Moleman of Belmont Avenue because I happened to see his fave on the cover...and it's a great title.I'm gonna get the glove as a tattoo, along with the lament configuration and Jason's mask. I have 3 Freddy plushies in my car. And for my birthday one year, my best friend got me a Freddy life-sized cutout. Oddly, thanks to Freddy, me and my father call each other butch, out of affection. I love the man, and all he does and who he is. Sweet guy who makes awesome movies, and is just super nice and willing to talk....and you were right. He will talk your ear off. And I am always down to listen. Thank you so much for this video! And the thank you Mr. Englund for being a huge part of my life!

      Ive been a lifelong fan of Robert Englund and Nightmare on Elm Street. Robert was in an obscure movie called Killer Tongue. Its from late 90's I believe, but its a silly corny movie but entertaining as hell mostly because of Robert who plays a hard ass prison guard. I would recommend you check it out. As I said, its very cheesy and a B movie but Robert is great in it.

    • @bootz8775
      @bootz8775 11 месяцев назад +1

      @kennethmccullah4905 thanks so much! Looking it up right now, and that looks amazing. Have you seen the Mangler? Came out a year before Killer Tongue. Got Robert in Old old man make up, and it's about a killer laundry press. Ted Levine is the main character. Great movie and great time all around. He was also in Jack Brooks Monster Hunter, which has kind of the same kinda feel to it.

    • @kennethmccullah4905
      @kennethmccullah4905 11 месяцев назад

      @@bootz8775 yep. I love The Mangler. I don't know why it got so much hate? I really do love B movies though so my expectations are usually low haha, but I thought The Mangler was a really decent movie. You should get a kick out of Roberts performance in Killer Tongue. He makes that movie in my opinion. It also stars Mindy Clarke from Return of the Living Dead 3, whom I had a huge crush on in my teens. Silly and dumb but a fun movie.

    • @bootz8775
      @bootz8775 11 месяцев назад +1

      @kennethmccullah4905 I saw Return 3 when I was a kid too. Also thought she was beautiful. Thought her sticking metal in herself was like a different kind of piercing or something lol. I don't think people really understand B movies. That ya, they are crap in some areas, but overall it's just meant to be an entertaining fun time. Not looked at for nuance or a serious message or anything. Like when you take the Mangler, no one should take that seriously, just enjoy the fact that a industrial laundry compress just got up and is chasing Buffalo Bill cuz it's evil. Have you seen 1001 Maniacs? Him and Lynn Shay are in that. Sooooo weird. And I got his autograph from that movie too.i buy movies when I just see that he's in it

    • @kennethmccullah4905
      @kennethmccullah4905 11 месяцев назад

      @@bootz8775 yeah I love 2001 Maniacs. Thats one I enjoy too. I also really enjoyed Robert in Strangland as well. I think that one is underrated too. I only wish he would have had a bit more scenes in Strangland.

    I'm a hardcore Fredhead, obsessed to an unhealthy point maybe. I also love how expansive Robert Englund's filmography is, how many legends he's worked with, & that he love making films all over the world. Perhaps my favorite thing about Robert as an actor, is how he came to love & respect the horror genre, after he admittedly was a classically trained Shakespearian actor. This was accredited (by Robert) to Wes Craven. Robert has said he's forever grateful to Wes for that gift. It's why he never became cynical about being associated w/Freddy Krueger, & truly loves his fans...because he IS a FAN himself, of the genre he's given so much.

When I was about four, I had a dream where I fought Freddie with a light saber. So, even at that age, the nightmares he gave kids were less than serious.
      The entire series, in terms of the kills and Freddie’s attitude overall, had a silly over-the-top feel to them. It wasn’t like watching the Exorcist. It fit in perfect with the 80s’ gratuitous and slap stick vibe.

    I love the way you summarize everyone's careers in these videos. To many times have I tried to describe my idols to people. But with these I can just show people with one video. I would love if you continued to do more fx artist and George Romero.

    Hopefully I get to meet Robert one day. I've been a lifelong fan of his and saw him first as Freddy when I was a kid. I would like to ask him anything about an odd an obscure film he was in in the late 90's called Killer Tongue. Its goofy and cheesy as hell, I personally like low budget B movies and Killer Tongue definitely qualifies as one of those. In that movie Robert plays a mean and hard ass prison guard but he is hilarious in it. He always gets Freddy questions so I would love to ask him anything about Killer Tongue.

    How do I get a job working for JoBlo Horror? There’s nothing I’d love to do more than to make in depth videos about great, classic, campy, bloody, fun horror movies and get a chance to interview my fav legendary horror icon actors! Give me a job please! ❤

    I have met Robert Englund twice so far. He is such a nice guy. He even had to borrow my Freddy Krueger glove during the first day of a convention for his Photo Op sessions.

    David Warner being considered for the role of Freddy is a long standing myth. Craven and Warner himself have both stated no such conversation took place.
