  • If Dan Daly could only prescribe just 1 exercise for you as a swimmer, it might probably be the pullup, as it is the most swimming specific.
    Recently we spoke to UNCW Head Coach Bobby Guntoro about his pullup progression. Here is what he does with his athletes...
    "We’re doing 16 weeks progression. Main focus is quality 1 pull up at a time, then we shift to add quantity. First 4 weeks just baseline do 8 rounds of either 1 or 2 or 3, once a week. Then we go to 2x a week, adding quantity by 5-10% each week. Very individualize progression."

    Thanks for this. Agreed, pull ups rule! Also, hanging from the bar for 3x 30 secs does amazing things.

    I feel like muscle ups would he a perfect exercise to progress to after you’re strong enough on pull ups since it’s entirely focused on explosiveness and power

    pull over-pull ups- deadlifts (not heavy)- mid lats and back lat exercises***!!!-cO2 endurance (in walking or during swimming) you can build your core in the water but sprinters might have to put more explosion in their exercises. Also thank you for the tips

    Front lever? Lats, triceps, core. I swap cam mcEvoy do with rings.
