I totally agree with Logan on this. Think about this.... Jayden ( who it is easy to forget is a rookie) goes into this crucial road game against a defense that has allowed 16 points a game during last 4 games. After Ertz goes out he is operating with 3 of his top 4 receivers out. Then his veteran center is a last minute scratch. The NO d line is dominating his o line and he is under relentless pressure. The run game is not happening. Key officiating calls are going against him. The result.... Jayden goes an amazing 25-31 for 226, another 60 + yards rushing, and here's the key...NO TURNOVERS! So he missed 3 deep throws in the second half. Two of those were by inches and the other was a PI that was obvious to everyone except the official standing right in front of it. I totally disagree with one particular Commanders radio guy who characterized JD as "rattled and indecisive" . WHAT? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I think its the exact opposite. My take is that a lot of times his receivers were not getting open and rather than do the expected rookie thing and try to force something and throw the int he wisely held on and tried to run or took the sack. Sacks hurt you but turnovers kill you! Our OROY understands that. He is not only unbelievably talented but is mature beyond his years! And yes, considering everything this might have been his best game of the year!

That throw to (I think oz) in the middle between linebacker and safety was amazing. When he threw it you almost couldn’t see oz and he layered it perfectly.
But what I found most impressive was his post game press conference. One question was about the oline not holding up in protection leading to 8 sacks and Jayden says sacks aren’t always on oline and that he needed to be better at getting the ball out. And another question about defense not holding and giving up late td and Jayden says they wouldn’t be in that situation if he kept the previous drive going. This guy is just checking every box.

This kid is going to get nothing but better. He has super star talent and the work ethic that star players possess.

Another thing no one is mentioning is that most of the 8 sacks were minimal. 2 of them recorded as 0 yard sacks. How is that a sack? A 3 yard, a 4 yard, a 5 yard. Those are probably more good than bad on JD's part. He protects the ball and minimizes mistakes. He'll get better at throwing the ball away, but I'll take a 4 yard sack over an interception any day.

Of course. Then the next step to being truly great is avoiding the sacks, too. But the fact that he skipped the first step of "be awful and turn the ball over a lot" is fantastic.

It was his best game imo. I hate the sacks but it was so nice to see him cut it loose in standard drop back again

Just trying to find somewhere to agree with you on the Penix take. But all my folks say it's a smart move by the falcons because of how bad Kirk is playing. As they said, 'what do you have to lose at this point' idk a playoff spot..lol. As always, we'll see. Great work with everything you do on these interwebs, take care.

I think that if one of the deep throws to Terry including the one with the missed PI call is completed he will be touted as a great performance. I think that was a great performance anyway, the only problem was the refs.

I know this is overkill but l wonder if Mina Kimes still feels the same way about Dan Quinn and the team now that we’re this far into the season…. What do u think Craig?

I am fairly sure she doesn’t. I do plan on having her back on the show in the off-season to discuss. Mina’s great. We all miss.

No. He’s been reading coverages and switching plays at the line since preseason. Luke runs wide open every week and never gets a chance. JD needs to learn how to throw the ball away instead of running out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage. I could see a rookie doing that the first few games of their career but it’s week 15, wth are we doing? I’m concerned about his ability to go through his reads. With all the good things he’s done, he’s got just as much to work on. 0-3 on deep balls, 2 of which Terry was open by 10+ yards. Inexcusable.

You're disagreeing with a former NFL player who has forgotten more about football than you or I will ever know. Jayden makes mistakes as every other player in the league does. That being said we drafted the best player in draft who is at a ridiculous level for his age.

@ so you think Logan is never wrong? That’s shortsighted. And by the way, nothing I said is debatable. And the question was subjective in nature, and that’s my opinion. I think he has a lot of room to improve and I think Jayden would agree. Luke has been getting separation, the best of all WR’s according to PFF and the human eye at times (most of the time) and is mostly ignored. And when you take unnecessary sacks (been doing it all year) and leave 14 points onthe board, color me unimpressed. I expect better from him this deep in the year. I have great expectations bc he is great.

Luke is typically a decoy in these plays. He's open because he's like 4th in the progression. And it's interesting that you think he struggles reading defenses when Logan explains why he was really good at it in this game. It seems like you're hypercritical and rarely satisfied.

      @grahamjenkinson3653 20 часов назад +1

@jaredbailey1079 "Nothing I said is debatable." Everything is debatable. You're talking about a player whose 4th in the league is completion % and second in rushing for quarterbacks. The armchair QB can sit after any play and suggest that this, that or the other could've or should've done A, B o C on any play and be right. Hindsight is always 20/20.
At the moment, we are winning games because he plays for us, and despite the fact that he's missing, 3 of his 4 top targets.
The fact that we can both agree that despite how good he is that he can improve is good news for me and all Washington fans. For now, though if Logan Paulsen tells me that it was one of his best games with his extensive knowledge, then I'm going to believe I'm.

Gimme some plays (time stamps) where you think this happens and I’ll go look. I’d bet you’re way over stating things

Can't say it was one of his best games Jayden missed a lot of throws he normally makes I think he he has to get back in rhythm from bye week
