Is that Dave the gunfighter ? My dad sang in the wagon masters around the campfire in the 60's and then his band "The Here And Now " was the first group to play at the John Wayne theater . I have many fond memories of going there when i was a kid
My 87 year old mom has an autographed book of Walters that he gave her when she worked in the chicken kitchen way back when. She loved the Knotts and always speaks very highly of them. My grandma was there house keeper and Mrs. Knott always treated her great and like a good friend for many years.
My aunt Nita and uncle Red met at Knotts in the 60's or 70's, and were married for over 50 years until he passed from cancer a few years ago. It was awesome to hear first hand history on this awesome place!
We lived in SoCal for several years in the early '80s after being transferred there from the Midwest by my employer at the time, Uncle Sam. We had never heard of Knott's Berry Farm before that, and not yet knowing its history, thought it was an odd name for an amusement park. However, it soon became one of our favorite places to go, even more so than Disneyland. We liked its Old West theme and family atmosphere, and our two preschool-aged sons (they're now in their 30s) loved Camp Snoopy.
I was just at Knott's the other day. It was the first time I went inside the park itself in some 20 years and I was shocked to see that Cedar Fair turned it into a mini Magic Mountain.
Im claude bells daughter from the portrait studio, A cute story... One night as we were closing I would put in the windows and sweep the flours for my dad and i was told not to sweep the dirt out the door. But this night I did and who did I sweep it all on to , Mr knott ! I was frozen My dad and mr knott laughed at me, I also couldnt get by with anything, once I snuck into the chicken dinner restaurants kitchen, and got caught, Mrs knott was sitting at a table she said arnt you claude bells daughter ! I even stole a goat from the farm petting zoo, walked it all the way home. Of course mom made me take it back. Things were so diffrent then, Before the walls went up ! My last memory of mr knott was when he came to my dads dinosaur, they carried him up the stairs in a wheel chair ! few people knew they shared a close friendship.

I remember when Knotts Berry Farm was a family's social event; kids panning for gold, simple rides & homemade jam....those were the good ole days
