E Minor pentatonic works great for me. If you play with someone else you split the verses. One does minor and the other major. It gives the guitars personality.

This was one of the backtracking choices from Guitarcenter King of the blues several years back.
MIXOLYDIAN E . Major with a flat 7th . A major KEY . F#m pentatonic works nice as well

Actually this is D major! He was partially right on the minor part because this in E Dorian. Try it on for size ;-)

it's not minor....It's a 3 "classic blues chords scale" in E dominant 7...e minor dorian works but the real key color is E7 .
