- 3 guns 3 different tips. Got me confused cause I would think the Sata should be used for color coats. the Husky would be for prime. but I find out the husky has the bigger tip.
Finish line - 1.3 tip
Husky - 1.4 tip
Sata - 1.5 tip.
bonus question is how many filters go into one cartrige on a M3 paint mask?
Nice guns. Didn't know you made any videos on here! Actually the guns you have are for paint and clear you should use a 1.8 for primers to get the best results. The mask your using is the same as I use. Make sure it's on tight! Take it easy PETE
Primer can be sprayed with 1.4 or 1.5 but I would take the best gun, get a 1.4 needle for it and use the cheapest/oldest for primer. I use one gun just for clear coat and the needle for clear can be from 1.2 to 1.4 depending on mix ratio on the clear coat. 2-1-10% works great with 1.4. If you paint with waterbased colors you need to go even lower than 1.3.
as far as the paint guns go I would use the sata for primer because it will let more fluid out for a high build with the 1.5 tip, the husky I would use for base coat a 1.4 tip is a general purpose tip good for pretty much anything. I would than use the finish line for clear because the 1.3 tip will break up the high solid clear real good and make it lay out flat with less peel. but really the sata is the nicest gun out of the 3 so I would do what pete said if you got the $ to buy a tip kit 1.4
if you want to put 2 "pre-filters" in you mask go for it. the mask is suppose to be stored in a zip lock bag to seal out air. the canisters themselves are an organic charcoal type filter. which means it is always absorbing toxins from the air even when not in use. they are only good for 40hrs of exposer. that is why you store em in an air tight container of some sort between jobs. and replace them regularly.
Go to your local paint store and you should be able to order a nozzle/needle kit for your sata spray gun. Then you will have 2 guns in one and will be able to interchange with it. Take it easy Pete
The 1.5 is good for primer...the filter all u need is one ... They just give u extra for replacement
Cheap solution is to select the best gun and buy different tip-sets (nossles). I on the other hand has 6 guns. Needles from 1.4 to 2.0. 3 with 1.4 for clear, solid and metallic. 1.5 for sealer. 1.8 and 2.0 for fillers.
Holy shit pete! i just went to price some out since i'm looking at more 'toys' and it cost $80 online for another setup for tips. screw that!!! is sata that good?
