Well said, I think it’s a song that Ian would have liked. Bernard sounds like he’s singing in Ian’s style which is a beautiful thing to honor their band mate and friend
The band also did not like it at the time and after it was released they have stated multiple times. Only later on they changed their opinions. It baffles me. Best New Order album ever.
@@DIEWELTMusicChannelI swear I had listened to it before and thought it was nothing special, boy how wrong did I realize I was after a few more times listening to it.
Some days you waste your life away These times I find no words to say A crime I once committed failed me Too much of heaven's eyes I saw through Only when meanings have no reason They're taken beyond your sense of right Small boy kneels humble in a great hall He placed hands to the air above him White circles, black lines surround me Reborn, so plain my eyes see This is the reason that I came here To be so near to such a person I'm so tired, I'm so tired...
Haunting ! And this is a soundscape that should've been on this album ! They were exorcising their past,on tracks like this, and especially "Doubts Even Here",music that absolutely owed its heritage to JD,and so it should.
Nah, not for me. Decent album but PCL, Low Life and Technique are far superior. Homage to JD? They were JD. The 3 surviving members wrote all the music. Curtis contributed lyrics and vocal melodies, which tended to follow Hook's bass melody
I admit I am coming around to this album. The JD influence is strong with this record. A little still with the second. After that, eh. I don't know. The style is too electronic and poppy for me for the most part. Bernard was an influential and interesting guitar player. It is sad that he stopped playing during new order's history.
You don't see JD in New Dawn Fades or Leave Me Alone? New Order IS Joy Division. They never changed direction, just kept going from where they left off and never looked back. There was a natural progression and all the band members feel as though if Ian was still with them, New Order's music wouldn't be any different
Movement just gets better with time.
This is such a dark song... It gave me comfort when I was younger... New Order's music was a security blanket for me then!
It is for me,with terminal cancer 👍
Movement is one my favorite 10 albums of all time.
This is a far better album than anyone could see at the time. Dark, brooding, JD evolved.
Indeed, it has such a unique style, New Order and The Cure were making such similar introspective music at the time

Best NO album - beautiful, haunting, powerful... there is no equivalent. This track is flawless
Movement was received poorly by the critics at the time. Fook knows why because it's bloody brilliant. Well i think it is.

My fave track from Movement. Copied the album cover as a kid with my techincal drawing set and put it on my wall. Coloured by Berol.
That intro was so Bauhaus...love this.
LOVE and rockets tooooooo yeahhhhhh 😊😎💪😎💪💪😎
The production on this track/album is an utter masterpiece by the genius Hannett.
Hannett lived in a permanent drug and alcohol fuelled haze. Lucky bastard.

Zenith dark soundddddddddddddd
My favourite song since I discovered it in 1983. I think their best album and such an iconic cover.

A black vinyl disk full of mystery. Was my first impression when listened to in 1983.
you were late
@@clintdavies491 Barely so. I didn't discover this song until like 2020.
This songs pops into my head at work, from time to time. Perfect in every sense.

This is the best album of new order. An Hommage to Joy division

Basically the 3rd JD album without Ian Curtis
masterpiece album. perrsonally this is the track I like best.
An absolute *monolith* of a song. Maybe my favorite off of Movement; though Doubts Even Here and Senses are close seconds.
cracking and as Karl Hamilton said "Some of Steve's best drumming on this tune
"
Im 19 wish this sort of stuff was released nowadays hard to find😅
If you like this , you might like: Joy Division, the cure , Bauhaus, Mazzy star
Some of Steve's best drumming on this tune
This was what a music video looked like back in the day made bit more atmospheric with the lights out n just a few tiny red lights on the deck
movement was their best. closely followed by PCL
Low life is good too

Best song
Brilliant
Personally I think this is one of their finest albums
Totally agree!
Joy Division and 80's New Order just didn't know how to do something below greatness
They wrote at least 3 better albums than this. But this is a great track
Better than the rest.
Filigrana sonora de uno d los bajos de altar con gallup youth y david j en mi oscura opinionnnnnnn

Look up State Shirt's brilliant cover of this
Read somewhere that ICB meant Ian Curtis Buried...tried to get outta his shadow and influence...??!!??
