With you on your comment about not wanting my home to look like the latest trends. If I were younger, purchasing things to resell would be a good business to go into. But, it would be a full time job and many have extra spaces that they rent or buy just to do their reselling. As you say, a lot of work. By watching these videos of yours and others, I have discovered things I would have never noticed on the shelves of goodwills and antique stores. There is just something about these finds that give me great pleasure to have in my home! I sold Home Interiors for 20 years as a second job and often see many Homco things in your videos and everywhere I go. My granddaughter who is 15 loves to go with me and is so amazed at old cameras, telephones, and different things she sees. My generation grew up with these things she is seeing now and I enjoy her reactions plus it is something we can do together that we both love.
I love how you do these vids.....shopping mixed with styling.....not just all styling at the end. It's genius!!!!👍 💯

I am the same way. I only thrift for myself. I dont like new things. I have a household of vintage items. I love the history!! Even my 'new' washing machine is from 1999. The newer machines are total crap and last only a few years.
Yes! I just told my husband to take back this fancy washing machine and get me a turn dial lol. a With a agitator in it. I’m so old school.

Awe thank you so much! I really try and always show how I have it styled or how I’m thinking of styling / using it. It’s been harder to show lately transitioning from Christmas/Winter to Spring but I will definitely be showing y’all on a video how I style my recent finds.

I want a little wooden stool for my fireplace. I just decided this tonight. My daughter will probably think I am a clutter-bug. But that I'm not. She is a minimalist, I'm not, I am going for what I like and so the little stool is going to be my next gift from God. I like the little table, you are so good at putting things together.

I agree! The Salvation Army is ridiculously priced! Yes, one day out of the week or twice there’s a percentage off, but here in Fl there are too many seniors who need that price break!
I know living in So Ca, our prices are also high but I once asked about that when shopping in a Goodwill. I was told that rents have gone up terribly so their overhead has to be met and I guess that can't be helped. I really don't mind too much because all the thrifts I frequen, support needy causes so when I decided to splurge on something I feel is a overpriced , I rationalize the purchase knowing that sale will go to assist someone in need.
There were just so many things I would have picked that I couldn’t even begin. Your home shouts out comfort and warmth whenever we see a bit your have worked on. I hope that you will show us more of that. I would also like to see how you bring your Spence of style to the clothing side of thrifting, maybe for yourself ?

That place was awesome. I thrift just like you. I love finding things that I can repurpose for my own decor. Sometimes I find things that I love but have no place for them. I love to see how you decorate with your thrift finds too.

Yes, absolutely. My daughter is on her anniversary trip and FaceTimed me earlier while they were at GOODWILL :) I had to laugh. We can’t stand to be in another town and not hit a thrift store or two. We pick those over a mall any day.

There was another clear glass cheese dome like the one you put in your cart that I would also have purchased, depending in the price. I buy them whenever I find them because not only are they good for covering a cheese dip or cheese ball, but they make cute small cloches.
And, depending on the price, I might have purchased some of the milk glass I thought I saw. Like the "teardrop" compote in the beginning of the video. I have two now, and they sit on my dressers in my bedroom holding my beaded necklaces. Everything in them is easy to see, and easy to get to!
As always, I loved your video and the way to place them in your home. I have another piece of furniture to share. I don’t mind sharing it. And my farmhouse kitchen that each piece is from my own pieces I’ve had, thrift stores, antique shops, etc...I just love the thrill of the thrift. God bless. ❤️

If we didn't have charity shops in the uk I would have to go around with no clothes . I buy everything there .
When a child, my family was “dirt poor”. My mom got almost all our clothes at thrift stores, some were given to her from other families when their kids had outgrown them. At Christmas, we got a package of underwear and maybe socks. That depended on the condition of hand me downs. I remember holes in my shoes and wearing my socks in a way to close off the holes in the socks to prevent cold feet. Things changed some when my great grandmother died and my grandmother inherited the estate. My grandmother would buy us two new pairs of shoes each year, one for church/school and play shoes, we didn’t wear shoes during summertime. And, we got a winter coat and two new school dresses starting at age 8.

I know some of the thrifts will research an item on line before pricing so that probably eliminates some of our "deals."
I love going to Goodwill for my own home. I never do sales like you , the thrifting is such fun !

I, like you have been thrifting for a very long time, mainly for pieces for myself and family.I have also seen an uptick in prices...mostly because these stores are hip to the resale trade....and now with the lockdowns, I'm sure that has impacted their trade also....I do enjoy finding treasures and remaking them for my home!

I can’t hardly make myself shop retail anymore! It’s funny my 18 year old son has picked up some of my habits, I’ve caught him hitting the thrift stores too 😆

What a nice place with good stuff & it sounds like a charity place, worth the drive. Good video 💝 try some wood putty on the holes. There was a 2 tone round mirror, very nice! There pricing seems random, lamp no shade $7.99-lamp with pretty shade $5.99. Its the adventure of the hunt ☺

22:10 I have that dish next to my sink, where I put my wet teabags until they are dry enough to toss in the trash! I've had it for so long, I can't even remember when/where I got it!

Your right their prices are high. That's how our goodwill has raised their prices. I hit a good rummage sale this year.
Now how did I know you'd head for the baskets? Lol! Thrifting for yourself and family is one of the reasons why I enjoy your videos. I love seeing how you plan on decorating. I really enjoyed shopping with you. I am starting to change my bedroom accent colour. There is so much ochre in the shops at the moment in the UK 🇬🇧 and it goes beautifully with most shades of blue. I have a pale blue bedroom with no real theme or accent. So I've started to buy pieces for it, curtains, bedspread, duvet cover and I've upcycled a lamp (its on my channel) and in using circular place mats with tiny pompoms as mats for my surfaces. On top of my chest of drawers and on my dressing table and bedside table. I love milk glass and we just don't get much of it here in the UK but I've managed to get some pieces to go on my shelves which look beautiful against the pale blue walls and the yellow ochre. I'll have to send you pics!

You might fill those holes on your end table with dowels, even if you have to enlarge the holes. A little golden oak stain and clear finish might make it look good and allow you to keep the wood finish. Love your videos.

Buy you a wooden dowel cut it to plug the holes. Rub a stain to match the wood. For your endtable.

I'm with you when I go thrifting. If I see something I want and will use, then I'll get it. I'm not going to buy something just because it's there. And boy do I agree with you on their pricing being high. We used to say that they really liked their stuff if we thought the pricing was too high. I just love to thrift. I had a retail booth before covid but it has since closed down. It's so hard not to buy everything I see that I love. With the booth I could keep it for awhile and then sell it...ever changing decor. I love my home to be cozy and comfy like yours! ❤

Your little side table is a telephone table! I have one I got when I was first married in 1988. I thought I was so fancy and grown up having a telephone stand lol It held your landline, the rails were to keep it from sliding off and there was a drawer underneath (you probably found the rails) for pens and paper to write down any messages or notes. Then the bottom shelf on mine held a basket with our phone book and take out menus. We were uptown, now, I'm telling ya!

This is in my town. I go probably twice a week lol. That location is located near a few affluent subdivisions and priced higher. There's a second location and the items are unbelievably lower. It's crazy. My mom and I were just talking about the difference in pricing with the two stores. I've found gold mirrors at the other location for $7.99 that would've been $19.99 at that location.

Good Morning... WOW the prices are a little high but I loved the turkey plater I would have bought that and as next year the price would have gone up even more! Living here in Canada the prices are higher at Value Village but some of the other stores are not to bad. I also love watching you go throw the store even if you bought nothing!!! LOL

I used to thrift shop, but I no longer drive (can't afford to) so I haven't in years. I would have bought that turkey platter cause I don't have one.
Oh dear...some of those prices.... ouch! The clear glass canister that was $4.99... geez! The Insurance Company I worked for for over 30 years we would buy them at Christmas time with nuts in them,.. I could make good money selling them ALL at $4.99 😁 LOL!
I think the PFALTZGRAFF Dishes had more in that box than what Maranda got. I don’t remember that many Pitchers, etc in her box...but do remember she got a great deal !!! 👍
How I wish we had places like that! I wonder what people in New York State do with there stuff? I know that when we would GO TO AUCTIONS...there is an older lady who would spend 1,000’s of $$$$$ at the Auctions and resells them down in the City! Which makes a lot of us upset...out bids every one else! Good for the person who it belonged to ( or their Estate ) and the Auctioneer! But stops us from getting good deals....☹️

@@ThrilledThrifter No “thrift stores”... we have lots of ANTIQUE SHOPS with the high prices! When I go and stay with our youngest daughter and her family in Albany NY , they have a Goodwill...but very very small and there is nothing there for household items. It is like a small clothing shop.
I am always amazed at what I see when you go and some of the other ladies on RUclips. I’m a born and raised New Yorker...but I’m ready for out at age 64! ☹️

Yes prices are a little high but that’s ok with me if it’s nice and clean like this AND glass/china pieces don’t look like they were thrown in a big bin in the back before going on shelves (looking at you Goodwill). AND most definitely if the clerks look like they are paid enough to care.

First, that store was pricey. Second you could get those wooden plugs to put in the holes on your table that are same wood color. Good walk through.
