Thank you guys.
Thank YOU G Bro!
New pilot here. I always seem to learn something new, watching your channel.
I absolutely agree with you on simulators. On RF9, I can fly and land jets, yet I need absolute full concentration to fly my large Aeroscout. I won't bother mentioning how awful my landing usually is.
Thank you for the excellent video contents!
Real life is better for learning, but it's a lot more expensive ;) Keep at it. If you can land on a simulator that just means you'll have more muscle memory backing you up when you're ready...but out in the real world, there's just so much more too it...even though the simulator does help.
@@BrianPhillipsRC
I've learned quickly that learning to fly rc becomes costly, very quickly. Lol.
The one major thing that simulators can't train you on, is being in control of your nerves on real flights.
WLToys F959 Sky King was my first RC plane. Mine did not have stabilization, but I learned to fly without it. It is very "crash resistant" Fly it in a park with tall grass, and chop the throttle as soon as you get into trouble. The nose will get crunched up, but it will keep flying. Always stand on the downwind side of the field, and find a big area, and stay away from trees. Trees are magnets for RC planes. Write you phone number on body and wing of plane. Paint the black carbon rod, a bright color so you can find it easier when you loose it.
All good tips ;)
Thanks Chet, great pointers for Us Newby Kooks!
lightly bend down the trailing edge of the wings about 1-2 degrees and it will fly little longer cause has little more lift
good idea
I have some stuff coming from wl, very slow...
Got in the exacto knives, I’m liking these a lot.
Slow is typical from Banggood, but this plans is pretty fun!
I LIKE YOUR VIDEOS
Thank you Robert!
Hey I love your vids. If you ever have any planes for sale or any up for donating I would love to have them to use it for my channels. Keep up the awesome cids
Thanks Crazy Boyz! I'm such a hoarder. When I get parts from a crashed plane, I immediately start dreaming of the stuff I will make out of it....then never do it - LOL!!!
Brian Phillips it’s awesome that you took the time to reply. I used to fly a lot and then life happened. Now I’m getting into it again.
Your not gonna have aeralons with 3 channels 😅
yes
I can’t believe you did a video on the SkyKing. This was the plane that got me into the sport 5 years ago. I bought 3 for each son for Xmas. I personally destroyed 2 in the first 5 minutes. (Hit a fence and the next plane ran into a metal bench) The 3rd SkyKing is in a 200 foot pine tree. It was either the 4th or 5th SkyKing before I figured out the throttle didn’t have to be at 100% at all times.
Good first plane for kids with video game experience. It’s not good for anyone with any amount of wind or gusts. Perfect for a small soccer complex. If you order one, order a a couple extra batteries.
Yes, true... We review most everything :)
I just tried mine out crashed all the timr. Now I can't get the engine to stop running the moment I hook it up.I will try again.
Hello, cool plane flew good. Hope you and your family are well and good. I sent you a friend request on facebook never heard from you so I just cancelled it. Have a great day. Just having fun RC'n with friends.
Sorry about that Edward (and Gloria too). I don't really talk about this much on my channel, but for me, Facebook is where I fight pointless political and religious battles - LOL - I'm never sure who's who when I get requests on Facebook, so don't mean to disclude you or anyone specifically...I just don't want to have 75,000 people to argue with on Facebook ;) I've already got a big family to argue with now - LOL!!! There's a reason for my keeping a separation from RUclips and Facebook, more specifically, two - religion and politics - I want to expand my audience on RUclips, not refine it...thus I try to play my cards very carefully on Facebook.
hello, is it possible to switch the Gyro off? Greetings Hermann
I honestly don't recall. Unfortunately, this one is from some time ago. Sorry!
Does it come with fpv camera?
Not the way I got it.
Skyforce 213 No it doesn't and you need to change the canopy to fit one(just a foam base on the top included in box) but the glider SLMG doesn't look so good aesthetically. A Weili Company 720p 30-Frame HD camera is recommended as per instruction manual.
Compared to the A800 this seems to have a disappointing glide slope. I can keep my A800 flying a lot longer without power though I do take your point about its flying performance which is much improved with a bit of expo on the elevator
I think I can use my Jumper on this plane too. I was reading question and answers on Banggood when I was setting up my links for the description. Might be worth it, but I was really happy with the stock Transmitter on this plane. Generally, these RTF planes have pretty crappy control authority compared to the Jumper or DX18...pleasantly surprised!
I think my A800 was opened up about the time I was working on ASH26 and ASW28 and Phoenix 2.6m and Phoenix 2.0m....so maybe I was just underwhelmed with it at the time??? This little sail plane, despite it's stupid charger (not a big issue for me, but will be an issue for some), and only THREE channels just flies well out of box. The "auto leveling" isn't over-whelming like some of the RTF planes can tend to be.
Glad you enjoyed your A800 though ;)
I like that the camera crew gets to talk now.
She's always been able too, but has just recently started getting involved a little bit more ;)
I'm making a surveillance UAV with this
why does ONLY banggood only have "garbage bag" packaging XD
They are the only company balzy enough to pack with a plastic sheet - LOL!!!!
nice would you pick this over the omp hobby glider you reviewed
That's a tough question. This plane is cheaper, and that plane had a brushless motor...so it's kinda not a fair comparison. If they were the same price, I'd have to vote for the T720 due to the brushless motor and SBus / DSMX Expandability, but we're in a different price point then...
Thoroughly enjoyed the unboxing and the maiden of this great little bird, you and your camera crew (good lady) make a fantastic team along with the expertise and funny innuendo between you two makes for some useful and sometimes hilarious content, thanks for sharing, and my very best regards from Alan in the UK (still wet and windy 😥),,,,🤗👍❤
Thanks so much! Glad to hear you're enjoying the content. Now that my voice is ALMOST back, I'm going to get fired back up as soon as possible ;)
Hey I'm #2... Cute Lil Plane! You Gotta Stick Your Tounge Into The Belly Button To Make Her Turn Over, P-Factor!? LMAO Thanks
Thanks John, another award winning comment!!! I swear you get confused what channel you're watching and think you're commenting on the RCSaylors...LOL
May have been covered already.. fully admit I didn't read every comment.. but it would appear the board in this plane is the same as the one in the XK A800 (wl-toys, KN protocol). If so, it already has an aileron jack. Check out the banggood links for the replacement A800 board. In the pics, you can see F959 and A800 silk-screened onto the board.
www.banggood.com/XK-A800-4CH-780mm-3D6G-System-Glider-RC-Airplane-Spare-Part-Receiver-p-1380443.html?rmmds=search&cur_warehouse=CN Now of course, maybe they just start out with the same base board and changes are made as they're built?.. but to me, that sounds more expensive to do (deviating parts-lines costs more).. so I'd bet it's the same board in both planes.
This sky-king is a.k.a. F959 AFAIK... so.. thinking you probably already have aileron support on that board.
It sounds like you like how it flies on this plane.. so maybe the A800 is just not the right airframe for the 'tuning' on this board as 'stock'? If you get it plugged into the jumper (and another youtuber has done this on his A800).. you maybe could tune it all up how you want on the A800 too?
As far as that port (the one that IS used as aileron port on the A800) it didn't operate as an aileron port, and I don't understand why... BUT, as you mentioned, the Sky-King just flew better, despite the 3 Ch vs 4 Ch.
Jumper has been nice for both planes ;)
Hi Brian glad your feeling better...love this plane I have the umx radian it’s great fun ...unfortunately
The here in the uk we’re being hit with storms So no flying ☹️ Outdoors that is just hovering helis around the house for now praying 🙏 for better weather soon..thank you for the video best wishes Chris
Thanks Chris! Flying inside is a good stop gap. I remember not to long ago this would have been a pipe dream :)
hello, one question: the micro servos of the f959s 4k skyking of how many grams are (1,7g-2.0g)? and, will the voltage be 3.7v or 5v? thank you
I'm real sorry, I have no idea.
I had an older model without the gyro and had lots of fun with it. it got beat up pretty bad and gave it away. Now I have a new one with the stability system coming. All up weight 100 grams. I have several sub 250 gram powered gliders and on some of them I added about 50 grams along the bottom, centered on the cg. This creates a keel effect and the extra weight makes them fly better in wind. A lot more stable and the performance is still fine, though it takes a bit more than 50% throttle now to hold altitude. I made the weights from hard wood, carved into a streamline shape to fit against the bottom of the planes. Kind of a durable skid for landing-- an extra benefit.
Good idea, but does eat up on some of the perforce.
Well almost 40 been life long Dream to fly rc ,I went with this as 1st ,Any tips or hint to the old but Super Beginner
Give yourself lots of room. Make sure it's CALM...NO WIND. Use a free simulator on your cell phone, if you want to have a quick "go of it" before you try...but don't be discouraged. YOU WILL CRASH - it is a fact of life when learning to fly RC. Don't give up. It will take some time to get "good". Keep at it. Fly a lot, and fly often. You need to have repetition to develop muscle memory, even if you're a genius.
You CAN do it!
I appreciate you Real Credible advice 🙏

K I can’t find the answer for this anywhere. Do you know what the extra three pin outlet is for and where to buy. I’m assuming you can add aileron servo but,,,, thanks for the videos.
It would be for another servo, but the PCB might not be programmed to do anything stock???
Can you explain what you mean when you said that the brushed motor has no braking at the 18:06 mark on the video? Newbie to electric planes here.
Breaking is when the motor is actively HELD STILL, which is a feature that can be done with BRUSHLESS motors, via programming the ESC (Electronic Speed Control).
This feature would also allow the prop to stop spinning when the throttle stick was at 0% (all the way down) thus preventing the tremendous amount of drag created by a spinning prop.
When you get into sail planes, or gliders, you want to stop the prop so it can FOLD too...otherwise, even though you would think it would fold, it will keep spinning until you HOLD it, THEN the prop will fold back.
@@BrianPhillipsRC Thank you for the quick response and easy-to-understand answer to my question.
@@BrianPhillipsRC This is incomplete... Brushed motor's can brake the same way as a BLDC can.
If you want to test it out, just grab a brushed motor, turn it, then short the motor-wires and turn again. You will feel a big difference. (high rpm / kv motors brake more)
Some brushed ESC's brakes can be programmed. (cars do it too...)
I got the old version without the auto leveling for my second one of these. I already jacked it up. Too much wind on the east coast and I wasnt patient. Cracked the nose, forgot to take the battery out, and the battery is drained...lol. I got the old transmitter as well.
Are you trying to slope soar with it?
Nice review Brian. I think I'll go back and watch the A 800 again, as I have not had a chance to fly mine yet.
I'm not sure how to attribute my preference for this plane over the A800, but I wonder if it's got something to to with another year (or so) of flight experience, and a different flight environment?
next do the wl toys f949s. it is a mini Cessna and it is very good
I already got one, but they sent a MODE 1 Tx, and I'm like - Ummmm no.
The f949s or f959s????
It would e awesome if you could make a video making this thing 4 channel and brushless, but not with a UMX gut (they are to expensive), with something cheaper maybe a lemon RX or maybe some hobbyking stuff
That's not a bad idea Multirotor Go. I'd like to see how this thing does on a sloe. It's just a great little plane, but needs a lot of speed. I bet on a windy day, I could just stop on the side of a road somewhere and soar from the lift off a ditch.
As for modifying it. I'd like BREAKING from a brushless motor. That would make a huge difference, but I'm so busy not sure I have time to do that right now.
I promise not to paint it BLUE if I do it ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC Look at the new Flite Test Flight Controller, they just put a video about it. It could be an option and a very interesting thing to review on your channel and put in this airplane. Since is light, Slope soaring in very light wind and small little bump hill would be interesting to see.

@@BrianPhillipsRC greetings bro...
May suggest a lapel mic, Brian. A little hard to hear you with the echo of your lovely new house.
Thanks John! I've had that recommendation a few times. It's on our list of things to upgrade as our channel continues to grow.
hello,
i need the manual of this airplane and remote. can u help me?
Follow my link and search there. What do you need to know?
@@BrianPhillipsRC what the function is of the buttons on top of the remote. cant find a manual on the internet and i would like to have it
SO i've just bought one of these, first flight went great, however now the motor runs for like 3 seconds then cuts out again...is this because of a low battery? I think i may have a faulty batter charger/battery cuz i tried charging it for almost an hour
Can you charge it on another charger?
What other charger? I’m using a usb charger for a phone will that work? The red light is always on and when I assume it’s done the green goes from flashing to solid. But red still on too. Hep!
Can't you just cut the charger plug off and put on a regular U.S. one?
I could just use another one, but ti's a weird input voltage on the 2S Charger... 10VDC at 800mAh???
I would need to build a simple suicide cord, then land the hot and neutral on the prongs. It would take me about 10 minutes to do, but I just didn't want to hassle with it.
Do you think I need to make an addendum video to keep people from frying themselves??? ;) LOL
"only certain things go in those holes" LMFAO oh the innuendo's great job
FYI. your return grilles for the HVAC are on upside down! you should not be able to look at them from the floor and see inside wall.. Reversing the louver angle will stop that!
I thought the same thing, so I double checked just now. The one over the TV (right?) has the louvers pointed up. I was sorta disappointed to see that they're angled in such a way to allow a view into that cavity. I bet I could just bend them to flatten them a bit to obstruct my view into the wall.
I assume you're an HVAC guy by trade? Have you ever had to "flatten" them like that???
@@BrianPhillipsRC No sir never on a new house i designed. ...I was born into hvac, 45 years of it. yes, on other people work. I have had to open them , or flatten ,more to stop a resonance humming noise and lessen wind resistence . But that indicates too small of a grille for the amount of air movement. If the case..the grille should be taller
@@BrianPhillipsRC Stamp face grilles are supposed to be oversized. The louvers at typical angle are about a 25 to 30% restriction to the total opening. If not they get noisey
Hello Brian😁😁😁😉😉😉🍻🍻🍻🍻New Airplane super😉😉😉😉
Thanks Master!!!
They used to sell a version with led light strips on the underside of the wings which I had until the esc burned out and it was an amazingly fun night flyer . It also could be sold with a 720p camera w sd card that could be turned on and off from the rtf transmitter for recording video or switch to pictures
Cool! Not sure if they're selling that anymore.
Yep , here’s a video of that version. The link in their vid shows it as not sellable anymore. I think you are based in iowa correct ? When I would have to travel and stay over a few nights a month in cedar falls I’d just keep that thing in the trunk of car and do some fun night flights over by the UNI dome of the University of Northern Iowa campus. The camera was pretty slick , it would attach to a supplied foam platform that you would switch out the canopy cover for
8:04 : He looks creepy! 🤣
ok
Nothing wrong with brush motors.
I have a glider with 2 and it works fine. Has 800 mm wings so similar size.
So, this would be recommended rc plane for bloody beginner as well ?
It could be okay....but it's not the best option for a beginner. There's just better planes out there, but this is one that's available.

I'm going to be 40 at the end of this year, I never been able to show no one what I can do in life because Im said to be the type of person that, Lord knows I wish it were different but if I don't have a Intrest in something people say I could care less ,not what I think, feel ,but it seems to and history makes it look this was I just feel out of place around Sir It hard for me to put it in words and plus typing! Sir any knowledge your willing to pass on I'm interested, yet not the brightest I would be very Great if I could understand the last comment about I believe water craft and dose it time into the original offset pusher Glider, that Unfortunately Bad luck with that Glider was about all I got ! The battery I put on charger before First first boom Lipo Exploded, so got new battery after counting my coins and on it took to the air it was Ah Amazing but with the giro It just glides down ! The pusher I don't no burt up after 15-20 seconds of flying. But I MUST try to find the good and am try to use all the electronics in a Lidals throw Glider but every thing I have give it thrust just well ant right, so I left with the idea of the throw Glider with the giro ,I got to try to keep working on doing something I I get joy from no matter who all makes fun and always has negative to say, because I know that 15sec of flight I got made it all worth while, I only wish China would do something when there A bad one I get but before the boom of the battery I had the Coolest Aircraft in the world, To Me it was until, it was a Bad unit but nothing can be done but try to make something else do something with what works! If I don't hear back from you Thank You
Thanks a lot for the information from you and your camerateam. One of your results was, "a simulator is not as good as physical live." Could you please tell this to the PS4-people and their relatives, if I may ask you?
LOL - Flying a simulator is fun, and helpful, but flying in real time and space with consequences will make you learn about 100X faster, in my experience. Some would argue to the contrary...fyi
@@BrianPhillipsRC beautiful landscape. where is it?

$61.00
I try not to post prices, since they change (sometimes wildly) and I have absolutely no control over this.
I would like a mechanism that can be attached to helium balloon, for stealth imaging and long battery life.
Like a ufo drone balloon
Cool! Make one ;)
he seems kinda feminine, and the woman owns the house?
Weirdo
WannaDIY You think I dye my hair? Nope, I'm just old
I'm just the guy who lives here and pays the bills, but WE own the house, and property. We both worked hard, in fact for many years to help pay for and afford this property. WE will both be working hard for quite some time. I make the money, and she takes care of the family. I get the easy part.
Why do you say that I'm feminine? Please elaborate.
Don't let the idiots get to you Brian. Just keep doing what you do.
Your awesome Brian. Love your videos. No need to respond to negativity. It's a downward spiral.
