Truly deserved this win. Defeating the likes of Smith, Clayton and whitewashing Price, Heta is a dangerous player to look out for 🔥.

My favourites teams got in the final, and even if I was cheering for Wales, I'm so happy Whitlock FINALLY got that title... he should have taken it 10 years ago with Paul Nicholson, but I'm so happy Heta helped him lift that trophy, amazing final, great result, couldn't be happier

Incredible scenes to see Whitlock lifting the trophy, he really deserved it. And this could spark something special in Heta, he's a great talent and always so humble have to be happy for him as well.
As for England, I feel bad for both of them - but IMO Wade made a big mistake constantly telling the media how nerve wracking it is playing for England, and how Smith is the best in the world and will beat everyone. As phenomenal as Smith has been, I don't know why you'd unnecessarily heap additional pressure onto him. Not to mention Wade's performance itself was bad, had Smith beaten Heta I've no doubt the Aussies would've won in the doubles. Both players have to contribute for a team to win.
Anyway, today's Australia's day and huge congrats to them and all Aussie darts fans out there!

Congrats to team Australia. I wanted Wales to win but they didnt play good enough in the final. In a way its great to see Australia add their name as first time winners and especially after 10 years of having match darts to win the world cup, to do it now it must feel amazing for Australia and the Wizard, Simon Whitlock. He was absolutely brilliant throughout the tournament and Heta came good at the right time to beat Smith, Price and Clayton, which was amazing from the Heat. Tough luck for Wales but it was still a good tournament and for Price personally, he can really take this form into the upcoming tournaments. All in all a great tournament albeit a very short one. I wish the format was a bit longer and played over a werk rather then a few days.

What a final both heta and whitlock played brilliant that's the best I've seen whitlock play in a very long time
except for the World Cup, perhaps the nicest tournament there is, only it is just way too short.. hope the pdc will do something with this. I would opt for longer matches like the final or something with a group stage or something. congratulations Australia they had a really great final day!

So proud of the 2 lads, honestly didn’t think we would even win the semi but we dominated that and then played out of our skin in the final, made it more difficult than we should’ve with all those missed match darts.

I'm happy too but dominated the semi? Michael Smith had the game pretty much wrapped up. He was 3-1 up to Damon when he busted his score of 48 with the last dart in hand.
I’m really happy that Australia won it. Nice to see another new name on the trophy. Also Whitlock came so close to winning it for Australia with Nicholson 10 years ago. So this will mean a lot to Whitlock especially. Congrats to Damon Heta also, he showed great strength and composure throughout, what a player!

This was one of those moments for me like the Phil Taylor retirement. It's just so special to see Whitlock and Australia put right what he and Nicholson lost 10 years ago. I hope Nico had a great day cheering on his countrymen.

Cullen should have played for England, Wade is no good in short format. I don’t care about the PDC ranking, Cullen is in Bettr form! Fair play to the Aussies though the Wizard was on fire!
The world rankings are the best way to pick the team. Otherwise it’s far too subjective. Many people would put Cullen in the team, but many more would argue that players like Humphries, Aspinall and Cross are playing well enough too. Who’s decision would it be?
@@Dylan-gq3uu Yeah I get your point it’s a difficult one but I don’t think it should be based on rankings and think Wade is a better player over a longer format. Anderson doesn’t play for Scotland although that’s his personal choice. I just think we had more chance with Cullen.

Make the event bigger + longer. Perhaps increase from 3 days to a week.
First to 4 legs is too low. Increase to 6.
Make the 1st round first to 2 points not 1. And the 2nd round first 3 points (like the final).
Loved the tournament but we NEED a much longer format, first to 4 legs is nowhere near enough.

The rules of the competition is the 2 highest ranked players from each country in the pdc rankings are picked to play for their country

Loved it from start to finish. Heta is just so cool under pressure which is a bit ironic with him being The Heat but him and Whitlock had a really good balance to their team. I can see Heta gaining a lot of confidence from this and he's going to be dangerous going forward. Crowd were brilliant. My only grumble is the tournament is to short. Maybe first to 6 instead of 4 and definitely once the quarter finals start it should be fist to 3 instead of 2. There should be more doubles tournies on fhe circuit. Just great fun imo.
So pleased for heta great player he could get a Premier league place if he has a few good deep runs in the biggies coming up

Gerwyn chalked the singles up as soon as he missed darts for the first 2 legs. Jonnys double finishes were off all match, clutched up in the doubles match but that was about it.
Can't be mad about Whitlock winning though, even Gerwyn and Jonny were proper happy for him. Heta Is a serious player as well, I think he's top 20 but will surely want to push himself to the next level now.
Hopefully this spurs Jonny and especially Gerwyn on for the rest of the season. 🏴🏴

The Australian dart player lost the world cup dart in 2012 in a game between simon whitlock and paul nicholson vs. phil taylor and adrian lewis and now comes the game of the past 10 years will rise again the australian dart player and they won simon whitlock and damon heta in the 2022 world cup dart championship in the first history in this game.
