I was very happy for the Scots, they deserved it (over the years). The Irish couldn't quite keep up their extraordinary form from the other games. Also nice moment again with Robert Thornton's walk on as winning music. Him and Hendo would be awesome to see as well =) Maybe we'd see one of these two again, if Wright or Anderson were unable to play. But the two World Champs and World Cup winners are undeniably always my favourites =)
@@jakobjas4212 of it was the other way around you would say he was Scottish though. Just face it the jocks are useless and need the English to win anything lmao
it never has been. The format is an old one. I agree that more team games would be fun - why not have teams of three or four and have a team leg format of 1001 down or something. I used to play in a local league where we would have a team game for a point where all six players got involved from each side.
@@Wally-H Obviously too much scoring, 501 has a nice balance of scoring and finishing. Also I feel like with 6-8 players on the stage it could get a little chaotic/confusing. Too much waiting for your turn as well. With this many players, the overall quality would be much lower, considering that a lot of countries only have 1-2 solid players. Darts is an individual sport with world cup of teams being a nice addition but I can't see such format being enjoyable
Wright has a few sets that look similar to other players darts. These are basically the old McKicks/XQ Max van Gerwen darts, but with a diamond grip (they look much rougher than MvGs clean darts). Same grip pattern though :) He also used Taylor-like darts before I think.
I feel sorry for team Ireland. Lennon steppef up very well. Btw I could recognize on the commentators it is pretty hard to commentate a match like that, cuz nothing special happened.--
Lennon and O'Connor was had seven chance in single and double for exit against Wirght. And they exit onoly one time. When you have chance to exit against world class player you need use that if don't use that punishment in 99,99% come. 1/7 and that is reason why they lose angaist Scotland.

A false Jock and a traitor to his adopted country, as well as looking like a prat with that haircut at his age. Good player though - can't deny.
He was born in Scotland and his parents are Scottish. He has Scottish blood, so that more than makes him worthy to play for Scotland. His accent may be English, but that doesn't takeaway the connection he has for his Country of birth. Now that he has recently won the championship, there are salty English brats trying to take credit for his win, even though they were booing him and singing "Scotland get battered everywhere they go" whenever he was playing. It's like they can't make their mind up. Whenever he loses they see him as a good for nothing jock, but once he wins they suddenly open their arms to him and treat them as one of their own. Their attitude is honestly pathetic. Anyways, congratulations to Peter Wright. Nice to see a Scotsman shut up these whiny bastards on their home turf after all the booing he got whenever he was about to throw a dart. That shit proves what Country appreciates him for what he is. 🏴
Scotland's only half decent opponent was Belgium. if this tournament was 4 groups of 5 with top 2 from all 4 groups advancing, would make for great bracket finish. Lets be real...having Scotland beat Denmark 5-0 (Boring), Sweden 2-0 (Boring), Belgium 2-0 (Great match), Japan 2-0 (Boring), Ireland 3-1 (So so match). By all means I aint knocking Scotland cause these are two of my favorite players to watch in the world but come on, How is this even exciting to watch?
@@ThorHC11 yes i remember them quite well, 2010 had it for for the 3rd round (group stage) with 2 groups of 4... 2013 tournament i hated from day 1 with 8 groups of only 3... With groups of 4 or 5+ at least one bad game doesn't eliminate you and having a weaker team pull of an upset shouldn't make them a contender. That's why other sports have round robins to give teams a chance. If you win your pool of 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or even 10 teams you feel and earn credited for it! Only the best can move on this way. Elimination bracket will have a better meaning then!
Really enjoyed watching team Scotland lift their first World Cup.
So sickening ireland played so so well whole tournament after getting a brutal draw and to lose at the end is heartbreaking

Funny. Wright was born in Scotland though, it's not a Scottish grandfather type deal like the football team.

This tournament should be entirely couples, not individual matches.
