before u read the Lucy Score book, it’s pronounced Mack-in-awe even though it’s spelled Mackinac. It’s a little island in northern michigan that is pure bliss, there are no cars on the island and everyone either rides their bikes or takes a horse drawn carriage everywhere. It’s like magic.
