Rooms & Doors actually started development before the official Doors was released. Whether it was always called Rooms & Doors I don't know, but it's cool to see that most mechanics came before doors and were simply expanded upon or improved based on mechanics in Doors

The second reason is for the ending (Spoilers) The ending gives you the Scanner from Doors. Rooms and Doors was actually being made before Doors was even announced, being a fan game of just The Rooms. However once Doors arrived and eventually the Hotel+ update, Rooms and Doors added some things from Doors too. This includes A-120 and The Scanner.
Great video, it was very entertaining to watch!!! Being part of the Rooms community and having played most of these games myself, I think most of your first impressions are quite accurate for how each game is overall, with some exceptions. Rooms: Fixed Expanded, which is meant to focus more on the entity side of Rooms games as it has, in my opinion, quite unique entity mechanics (at least in comparison to other Rooms games), and as far as I'm aware, it's the only well-known Rooms game to add entities past A-1000. Also, you can hide under tables from A-60, just not in the last opened room (and in Rooms & Doors A-60 and A-60' have a 10% chance to kill you if you hide under a table). As for Rooms: Low Detailed, I think it's more or less meant to be a joke game, as evidenced by the smiley/doodly face entities you saw (which are mostly harmless, mostly meant as distractions or to mask sounds from other entities). Ironically enough, though, I think it's better and more fun than a lot of other Rooms games, save for the obnoxiously loud sounds and sickening screen-shakes. If you're up to play (or even make another video on) more Rooms (fan)games, I REALLY recommend you try Apeiros by TheAmazingTuba (unfortunately it's hard to find the game if you only search its name so you'll have to search for the creator's name). It's an INCREDIBLY underrated game for how polished and well-made it is, and it's a breath of fresh air from the sea of mediocrity and imitation that is Rooms games. It has you go through 250 rooms with no checkpoints, which is fair imo, considering its difficulty. Another great Rooms game to try is Rooms: Remastered by Pabncake, albeit this game doesn't have a lot of entities, it's visually very appealing. Rooms (Remastered) by FarCake is also a good-looking Rooms game, although I haven't played it much myself, so I can't comment much on it other than its looks. Anyway, I'm glad if you read this whole comment, or even just a bit of it, and very good video once again, I loved it!!!
Hello im the guy who created this game called Rooms "Fixed Expanded" and I want to say thanks for giving the needed criticism to a game that I only created to test the main mechanics of the original rooms.
He could have been a lot less harsh on your fangame. It builds up tension the further you go in, it also has a lot of entities, at least 7 times more than the actual rooms themselves. They’re also decently spaced apart to prevent clutter, so overall your fangame is pretty decent 👍
i has been traped in A-500 and the more long i did its A-582, i think, but i hear the final of bang sound of A-200 and i dont know that, and next... i die to A-200, that was horrible D:, and good game anyway
Rooms Fixed Expanded and Rooms & Doors are some amazing rooms fangames and probably my favourite ones. IR and R:LD are literally its own category, it's a state between a hiding simulator and a joke, tho i had fun with certain things in those games. Decrepit rooms is really cool, though laggy and a bit unoptimised but i had fun playing it. The other 2 i have not played but they look okay! Some notes: Also Rooms Fixed Expanded does have a soda machine though it's only available after 1000 rooms (since that is the hardest part of the game), and all it does is to heal you, but you can grab basically an infinite amount of them (you can hold 1 only tho). Also, this game has implemented a monster called The Void, who is believed to be an unused monster from the original Rooms. (He just spawns 95 rooms from the latest and if you happen to be held back you are dead). Also THIS GAME LASTS FOR 1500+ ROOMS (1500 is the final checkpoint, idk if the game has an ending). R:LD has 3 sections (and some questioning game modes) so it's 3 games in one technically for all insanity!!! IR does have 3 sections as well, though A section is the one which has the most content inside lol. IR and R:LD are in my opinion a copy paste of each other, they share a lot of things, their section even last for (about) the same amount (400 rooms). Finally, a lot of people mention that they hate rooms games which introduce more than one locker type/color. I personally find it okay as long as it's not too insane (cough). Great vid overall!

From the R&D game you can kill a pnevma with a locker by pressing Lshift and W when inside one at the cost of some of your stamina and breaking that locker so you can't hide there anymore, so pnevma isn't a threat, just a nuisance.
I actually highly recommend you come back to Rooms & Doors, it can be really hard at times but the game is SUPER fun and the challenge makes surviving entity combo attacks and reaching checkpoints feel so good (I've made it to room A-874). The 8 charms also let you play in slightly different ways since they give effects for completing certain "rites" (basically challenges/requirements). For example, the Wrath charm links your health and stamina as well as halves all stamina costs but you also take 1.5x damage. This basically lets you have 2x stamina (this difference alone makes you MUCH faster and I'm constantly leaving people so far behind they are struggling to stay ahead of A-10 which is the entity that kills you if you're too far behind the main room) and all non lethal damage you take is fairly superficial because it will be regenerated at the stamina regen rate, however it makes it much easier to take lethal damage when you would normally survive. Again, highly recommend giving it another shot and going further cause its a really amazing game.
I don't know why, but checking the movement prims for A-200 adds to the immersion for me. With A-200 now being a sort of Silent Killer in the original Rooms game, using the debug menu acts like a sort of tool to help defend yourself against it, plus adding that Scribble Face is quick in that game, it gives a rush of adrenaline as you rush to the nearest locker you can find, knowing you have little time before it catches up to you. It's like knowing the threat is in front of you, though you can't see it; their movements are practically unpredictable to the player.

With the pride charm, they cannot see you under tables at all. edit: pride got reworked along with the table mechanic, now there's a 80% chance A-60 and A-60' will drain ~33% of your hp while under a table. with the pride charm, it no longer makes you just not have a chance, it now makes it drain your stamina instead of your hp.
Funnily enough, INTERMINABLE ROOMS uses a free model flashlight. You can find it just by searching it up. The footsteps probably are too but I don't wanna theorize.

Checkpoint system allows you to continue your runs after every 100 rooms, the game gets progressively harder and it forces player to adapt and using new strategies with combinations of different charms that give special helpful abilities and 3 different light sources that drastically change how the game is played. On top of all that it has plenty of hidden mechanics that drastically help to survive further. Examples: Pressing S in a locker makes you exit while looking back at the locker, sprinting through doors and while interracting with batteries makes those actions instant but cost extra stamina, normal flashlight can defend you from A-50 once before needing to recharge. Lockers can be slammed open to destroy any of the annoying spirits (destroying 3 with one locker slam will grant player a very useful and even powerful per say charm.) However this action should be avoided unless encounter with A-60 just happened, reason being that slammed lockers become damaged and unusable.
Pnevma cant camp lockers, if you hide inside a locker and Pnevma is in front your character uses all their stamina and kills Pnevma with the locker door by slamming it open as hard as they can, this also breaks the locker though

Im currently working on a game called horrific rooms, alot of the monsters in my game have noses, A-60 screams bloody murder, chaotic scribbles and crap like that. Im not the type of freemodel user either. it includes some rld inspiration ill admit. Plus more details in some room lol

2:17 in the original game i believe you can also turn on the diagnostics thing, and when A-60 spawns you can tell by the fact that the ping goes up by a lot suddenly
fun fact: once you get the gummy flashlight for the first time, you can go to the gummy flashlight thing at the start of the game (the first room) and not use the normal flashlight
something that i'm confused on is how in the base rooms game, you basically NEVER see A60 unless you die to it. Every game after rooms has these entities visibly rush past the locker you're hiding in, but not the original. Is a60 going so fast that you can't even see or hear it pass by? or does it despawn before it even enters the room you're in when you hide?
when everyone is hiding in a locker when a60 spawns, a60 freezes in place and doesn't move. after 5 seconds, a60 despawns. so yeah, it despawns before it enters the room you're in when you hide. if someone doesn't hide and they keep going though, then that's when you'd see a60 rush past the locker to try and kill that person
1. A-60 only has a %10 of killing you under a table unless with the pride charm same with a-60 prime 2. there’s 3 primes in rooms and doors a-60 prime, a-90 prime, a-200 prime
the default moving prims value varies!! This is because of your avatar! And from experience moving prims is way harder to use with more then one person in the game (also I'm working on le funny joke game if ur interested)
A-60 in rooms & doors can actually unalive you under tables, its a 10% chance tho. Also in the latest update that unakive chance was replaced with damage chance, a60 could do fatal damage but prime couldnt. Edit: i mean prime leaves you at 1 hp and doesnt kill you but a60 does

you should have played interminable rooms: recoded demo, its cancelled now but it was a way cooler version (theres also a rebuilt version but only some people have access to it, its also like 10x better than recoded)

thats because the despawn sound has the "Playing" true for some reason so it plays when you join the game

no, it only does that if you hold down shift (or blue circle on mobile) and leave the locker. it only drains about 80 stamina

something that i'm confused on is how in the base rooms game, you basically NEVER see A60 unless you die to it. Every game after rooms has these entities visibly rush past the locker you're hiding in, but not the original. Is a60 going so fast that you can't even see or hear it pass by? or does it despawn before it even enters the room you're in when you hide?
when everyone is hiding in a locker when a60 spawns, a60 freezes in place and doesn't move. after 5 seconds, a60 despawns. so yeah, it despawns before it enters the room you're in when you hide. if someone doesn't hide and they keep going though, then that's when you'd see a60 rush past the locker to try and kill that person

A-60 only has a %10 of killing you under a table unless with the pride charm same with a-60 prime
2. there’s 3 primes in rooms and doors a-60 prime, a-90 prime, a-200 prime
the default moving prims value varies!! This is because of your avatar! And from experience moving prims is way harder to use with more then one person in the game

A-60 in rooms & doors can actually unalive you under tables, its a 10% chance tho. Also in the latest update that unakive chance was replaced with damage chance, a60 could do fatal damage but prime couldnt.
Edit: i mean prime leaves you at 1 hp and doesnt kill you but a60 does

By the way, you can kill pnevma (the skull) by slamming the locker door open (which you do by opening it while holding sprint i believe)
A-50 from rooms and doors if you stay in the hiding spot for too long it will kill you it does not insta kill it just damages you
