  • "Israel Goldman welcomes Sophie Richard in his home in London to discuss his passion for Japanese prints.
    On this video Israel Goldman and Sophie looked at works by the following artists:

    Self-portrait in the role of Shibaraku

    Square surimono
    Most of the Japanese paintings seen in the video are by Kawanabe Kyosai (1831-1889).
    Izzy’s extensive, personal Kyosai collection is on long-term loan to the British Museum where it is available for public study. It is the subject of an exhibition at the Royal Academy London, titled 'Kyosai. The Israel Goldman Collection', from 19 March to 19 June 2022.
