Mic Drop.was inspired by former president Obama’s speech.
The first line was *"Yeah, who says my spoon is dirty"* (bapsae)
reference to being called “dirt spoon”* It is a metaphor for someone with no privilege (opposite of those born with silver spoon in their mouth). If you don't know, BTS came from a small agency and people doubted if they will be successful and that they are underdogs. The second line is *"I don’t care, I hold the mic and beat up many gold spoons."* BUT WHEN THEY PERFORM OR HOLD THE MIC THEY CAN BE BETTER THAN WHO HAS 'GOLD SPOONS' (people who are bigger and powerful than them)
The chorus part is English *"Did you see my bag?"* but bag in Korean means connections and they are talking about how they are from the bottom but now they are on the top because they have many supportive fans and all the things that helped them to be the best are the *connections*
Lastly, *"There’s nothing I want from you, this is the last good-bye
Ther’s nothing to be said, don’t even bother to apologize"* this is for all their haters and people who tried to drag them down and who doubted them.

No Time there’s actually an amusing side note to this! When they do the remix dance version, one of their backup dancers actually gives Yoongi a cheap mic to drop so he’s not dropping the expensive one 😂 and for their stage performances before, I’m pretty sure they do a quick cut between and Yoongi doesn’t drop the expensive mic. There was one time when he didn’t have a cheap mic to drop so he set it down gently on the floor instead 😂😂

An understanding of the video: BTS is one of the few kpop male idol groups that stand up against their haters. Or in other words, they make songs to express what they feel about their “haters”. They made songs like all the Cyphers and Mic Drop to say they don’t care about what you say and that they’re earning their “trophies” not caring about what you do or say.
