I understand the friend conversation. I’ve been the placeholder friend in almost all my friendships. It’s like once I stopped reaching out I haven’t heard from them unless they need something. So I’ve gotten to the point where I’m so happy with hanging out with myself. I truly believe that God will send those friends along that are supposed to be there.

I have the same situation but hanging out with myself is not fully satisfying as of yet.
@@UniqueD22 it is hard in the beginning and it’s lonely but in those time I learned who I was and Who I belonged to. I placed my value in people that I turned a blind eye to this treatment. I wanted to please people so they would like me but in those times of being myself it showed me my true value.
What helps is doing stuff that you love. Go to the movies, coffee shops with a good book, taking walks. Romanizing that alone time and you’ll see it gets easier.

As far as feeling like a place holder. Step back from them and when they ask what’s going on, that is when you say something. When you go to speak on it you won’t be upset because you have had time to truly process everything.
That friendship convo is real. I’ve always been a backup friend, never a first choice. I used to have a friend that would only wanna hang out when she’s bored. Other than that, I never heard from her. More recently, two coworkers/friends invited me out, I agreed and they said “ok we’ll let you know” then they went out and failed to let me know anything.
You carry weight very well I would have never guessed you weighed 200lbs kudos to you for working on your goals your an inspiration. I've been trying to lose 25lbs and I really need to just do it! Your sister baby shower looked so nice praying for a healthy baby and smooth delivery and postpartum! ❤
You are hitting my soul! I’m the same way when it comes to friendships/relationships and I’m also learning to set boundaries and stand up for myself more and express how a person made me feel. It’s hard because they aren’t used to it and some have even walked away but that was God showing me who was real and who wasn’t. Blessings to you on that journey! I’m right there with you!

Congrats to your sister. My intention for this year was reciprocity in my relationships! I wrote it in places I could see with the definition to remind myself that I am worthy of the love and respect I so freely dish out to others. As I reflect on this new intention, the people that genuinely love you will happily rise to the expectations you have of how you want to be treated. I truly no longer think twice about settling for anything less than what I deserve. I hope that gives you some encouragement Ri ❤ you are TOO good of a soul to be anybody’s placeholder!

I’ve unfortunately have been the placeholder friend more than once, it sucks. But after you step back and look at the situation and see how much they hurt you, it’s easy to walk away. Trust me it will be ok, and you will find your tribe!! And congratulations to your sister

Hey Ri! Try dry shampoo. It's just a spray but I heard it works well to de-grease hair and make it bouncy again. That way you won't have to do a full wash.

Giiiirrrllll, I love your sweater....as far as the place holder I was a place holder for my boyfriend who was at one time my best friend but the relationship part of us lasted for 6 months and then it was over once he didn't have a need for me.

I think we’ve all been a placeholder friend that’s were one sided friendships come inn. That’s why it’s hard to find real friends and genuine people that actually want to be there for you and not just you be there for them. If that makes sense.

I'm currently dealing with being a placeholder and it hurts. My "friend" never initiates a convo with me unless she wants something from me. I've been so naiive.
After you have prayed about it. God says shake the dust from your feet and move on.
Sometimes people just don't include you because they know you are not like them. I have learned that it is better that they push you away than to keep you around and mistreat you.

It's so good what you said about enforcing boundaries for you and your future family. It's so so important! I'm married and have a son and JUST learned about boundaries a yr ago. The Boundaries Book by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. Townsend with get you all the way together! IT REFERENCES SCRIPTURE TOO! It helped me deconstruct who I thought God was and even what scripture says. I love your vlogs and hope that God helps you in your relationships!!
